I started my journey in the Shadow Realm nation known as Astia. From my research, I remembered that this was the one of the only nations that was even close to looking like a nation. I spawned in the area around the capital city of Astia, Torren. The city was decent. It glowed in the shadows of the Shadow Realm. That's where the the continent gets its name, it is always night there. Anyway, the city was the only source of light for miles. I knew that I had to enter the city. The gate to the city was about 70ft tall. The guards at the front were burly men, with surprisingly decent armor. All I had was shit armor with a dagger that could slice them 100 times in one second, but did no damage yet. Suddenly, a thought hit me. In BCO, a player usually starts out the game with a plot of land, and the goal was to develop your land into an empire dedicated to world conquest. I started with no plot of land, so somehow I had to figure out a way to gain a plot of land. There was 2 ways to gain land that I thought of. Rally a bunch of allies and steal a lord's land, or gain favor of the king and ask him to give some land as a reward for a quest or something. I decided that I would choose later.
I walked up to the gate for entry, one of the guard's said "how you doing? What is the purpose of your visit?" I had to make up something cause I couldn't just say I was there to conquer their country. I just said "I'm immigrating here." The second guard said "you chose a bad time to immigrate here?" I asked "why?" He said "you haven't heard? The King Dauliph is sick. When the His Majesty dies the streets will be filled with blood from a civil war. Some people want the king's brother, Duke Reinhardt of Torren, to succeed him, and other people want King Dauliph's daughter Princess Elise, His Majesty's only child, to succeed him. Personally I am going to fight with Duke Reinhardt because the Princess is weak." I was glad I gained that information. I decided that when the time came, I would help the princess gain control because if she's weak, I can easily manipulate her.
I entered the city, and it was like most cities in BCO. It had shops, slums, and rich areas. While I was looking at some of the shops I realized something very disturbing. It was so disturbing I almost threw up and shit myself. I realized that... I had no money. I found a place to stay, behind an inn there was a storage room, I just snuck into there. I needed a job or something. So many things still needed to be done before I could do anything. Another big thing I had to do was choose a class to pursue. There were three base classes in BCO. There was Bladesman, Mage, and Blademage. Bladesman had a 100% increase on all blade skills and a 50% decrease on magic skills, Mage had a 100% increase on all magic skills and a 50% decrease on all blade skills, and Blademage was balanced with a 50% increase in both blade skills and magic. The base classes could evolve into advanced classes, there was 7 advanced classes total. Bladesman could evolve into Assassain, Warlord, or Paladin. Mage could evolve into Sage, Sorcerer, or Bishop. Blademage had an advanced class, but it was almost impossible to evolve into. That's the reason no one really played Blademage, people never got the stat boost from evolving because no on ever evolved into the advanced class known as Blademage God.
Every city in the game had an altar where one chooses their class. A base class cannot be changed when chosen. I thought maybe I should join the countries army because 1: I needed money. 2: I could use the altar to choose my class for free, yes there was a fee to use it apparently. 3: I would be provided better equipment. The last reason was to make connections with military officials and possibly nobles associated with the royal family. I went to the registration center. I talked to one of the men handling the registrations, and he told me "you can't join without graduating from one of the countries military academies. I knew what time it was, It was time for a school arc.
I got kind of excited. There was no schools in BCO, and I was a loser at my school. Here though, I knew I could become the greatest cadet to ever graduate from the top military school in Torren, Torren Knight Academy. I researched a bit and found out that the people who graduate from here go on to gain military accolades of the highest level. The only problem was that 99% of people that graduate from here are nobles, and me, well I am technically a common man. I decided I would take the entrance exam anyway. The exam was going to consist of a written portion, a blade skills portion, and a magic portion. The ceremony before the exam was the ceremony to choose your class. No one was choosing Blademage, and I knew why. It turns out it was also a sign of arrogance to choose Blademage because of how impossible it was to advance your class. It was for that reason I knew that I just had to choose Blademage because you know what, I might be an incel or nice guy, but I am not one thing, I am not a fucking pussy who backs down from challenges like becoming a Blademage God.
Standing next to me, was a noble waiting to choose his class like me. I asked him "Hey, what your name?" I cringed at myself because that was quite an odd question to ask someone outta no where, is it? I don't know. Maybe it's not weird. Anyway, he answered "I am Hadrian, 3rd son of the lord of Goric, Lord Alphonsus. The pleasure is mine." I realized I had to talk in a posh manner like him just to fit him. I introduced my self as, "Lewis, 1st son of the cardinal of the Gretia Sect of Priests of the the Holy Land Alshandia, Cardinal Obama. I know that I come from a different land, but I hope we can become friends threw the strength of the Gods." Alshandia was the Holy Land of BCO, it was a place of worship. It was the only place that everyone who played BCO would be conquered last. Alshandia is on the oppisite side of Gaiamundo then the Shadow Realm, so fact checking to see if Cardinal Obama was real, well, probably impossible. Everyone in Gaiamundo acknowledged the existence of the 7 Gods, so you can't hate someone from the Holy Land. Hadrian said "of course we can get along, anyone from the Holy Land is welcome here, but why did you come to the opposite side of the world to join our army?" I had to make up some bullshit excuse. I just said "I was sent by my father. Since the Shadow Realm is so far away from the Holy Land, there can't be many holy men here, so I was sent as an information guide for the Gods." Hadrian thought it plausible enough, he believed it. I asked him "what class you picking?" He kinda laughed and said "did you forget, you can't pick your class. Your class picks you."
I was confused. In BCO you could pick your class, but I was told you have no choice. I didn't care much because I would probably be good in any class. It was then I realized, the only reason people weren't getting the Blademage class was because it was just that rare. I was wrong, it wasn't a sign of arrogance, it was that it was just too rare to be even called a class. I asked around a bit more and learned that a Blademage is considered a chosen one, a candidate to become the 8th God. This just made me want the Blademage class even more because it didn't have a cool ass backstory like that in BCO. It also made me realize that this world was slightly different, even though the God guy I met said it was the same. I had to figure out what was the same, and what wasn't. Hadrian went up to get his class, he got Bladesman. I was after him. I went up to the altar, and the mediator, one of the only priests in Torren, said "by the might of the 7 God's, your class will be revealed here today." In that moment, I was transported into a hall, at the end of that hall was a table with 8 seats, but only 7 people. I approached the table. The man at the center spoke, "we are the 7 God's. Usually we would pick your class, but your existence is unusual. You may pick your class." I immediately knew what to pick. I said "well, I wanna be a Blademage." The God's said in unison "by our strength, you now inherit the right to be a Bladesmage, go forth God candidate."
I was returned to the altar, but it was like nothing ever happened. The mediator "said the God's have chosen your class..." the mediator froze in a state of shock, it was very epic, "... you are a Blademage." The 1000 people at the ceremony gasped in shock, also very epic. They thought I was the strongest, even though a Blademage has the smallest increase. Although that's how was in the game, here the decrease for each class is 100%. If you can use a blade, you can't do magic and vice versa. I was the only one in the city, perhaps the country, who could do both. Hadrian came up to me after I stepped sown form the altar. He said "please give me and my family guidance, chosen one." I didn't realize it was a Messiah type thing. I asked him politely "please just call me Lewis." He reluctantly agreed, but he asked "if you ever need anything, please let my family, the Meylor family know." I said "I can't think of anything..." it was then I remembered I was sleeping in a storage room "... actually, can I stay as a guest at your place?" He said "the Meylor family would be honored to have you as a guest tonight."
Hadrian's carriage brought me to a glorious mansion. Assembled in 2 lines was all the house servant welcoming us. As I walked inside, I was in awe. I saw a hall that looked bigger than the mansion itself, coated in gold and other precious metals. I immediately knew that the metals were imported because no such resources were available in the Shadow Realm. I wondered why it was a handicap to start conquest in the Shadow Realm, but it wasn't until much later I found out the true horrors of the Shadow Realm. Anyway, I walked down the hall, and as I was walking Hadrian asked "would you like to join us for dinner?" I remembered something at that moment, I hadn't eaten once since I got here. I said "dinner would be great." Hadrian and I sat down at the table, and Hadrian said "My father, mother, brothers, and sister should be joining us shortly." I was bored so I asked Hadrian "what families have the most power in Astia?" He answered "there are three families who stand above others. There's the current royal family, the Estreal family, the Randia family, and then there is my family, the Meylor Family." I said "cool."
Hadrian's two brothers, Jean and Darius, came to the table. Jean asked "who is that guy?" Hadrian seemed offended and said "be respectful, I will give the formal introduction when everyone comes. Hadrian's sister, the heir to the Meylor family. She was a beautiful girl with hair the color of gold, and eyes the color of the sky, she had a nice body too. She was silent, asked no questions, and didn't talk to anyway. I was nervous because for some reason, she chose to sit next to me. I didn't know what to do, I'm a gamer, I am inexperienced with women. I pushed through my inexperience and talked to her. I said "How's life treating you?" I cringed at my self. Who the fuck asks that when you first meet someone. She answered anyway, she said very softly "ok". I was going to say something else, but her father and mother came. They sat at the table. Hadrian began to introduce me, he said "everyone, I would like to introduce to you a man I met today. He and I both had our classes awakened today at the ceremony, and we will both take the entrance exam to Torren Knight Academy tomorrow. He is Lewis, son of Cardinal Obama of the Gretia sect of priests. He is from Ashlandia."
Hadrian's dad spoke "well, it is a pleasure to meet you Lewis. Please enjoy yourself here." Hadrian's mom, Laura, asked "Hadrian, what class did you awaken?" Hadrian answered "Bladesman." His mom said "Just like your father, what about you, Lewis?" I just said the truth "Blademage." Hadrian's mother dropped the glass she was holding, and everyone looked at me, they were surprised, and rightfully so. Hadrian's dad told me"there is no need to joke about your class, so just tell us what you really got." I said "I wasn't joking." Hadrian confirmed my statement. Lord Aplhonsus told the servants to prepare me the nicest room, and all that stuff. I asked Hadrian why his dad was treating me like a superior. He said "well if I had to place your authority somewhere, it's above my family and the Randia family, but under the royal family." I just said "cool."
The next day, Hadrian and I were bid farewell as we left to take the entrance exam. When I got to the Torren Knight Academy, I realized that a school arc was just about to begin, and I was fucking excited.
