Chapter 36 - Bonus Round

Instructor Cheng prepared a note tablet and delivered it to the other instructors. "These are the names, skeletal age, talent, and strength of the accepted applicants. Please review." There was an evident reverence in his voice directed towards Instructor Qin.

Although by means of profession, all the instructors were on the same level, there were different social standings amongst them that determined who was better or worse. Of course, this was all based primarily on cultivation, albeit experience and class have minor parts to play in this as well.

All instructors were at the Quazi-Earthen Realm, which is an extreme realm where one transitions from the Mortal Realms to the Earthen Realm. To reach the Earthen Realm, one would have to pass five realms, regardless of what path they take. For the essence gathering path, they would start at Mortal Practitioner, then advance to Apprentice, Grand-Apprentice, Enforcer, and then General.

The Quazi-Earthen Realm is just another name for the Extreme Mortal General Realm!

Instructor Qin was different though. Even while he is a high-ranking talent in the Qin family, he does not discriminate against commoners because of his class. Rather, what he acknowledges over all else is strength.

If you are a commoner with tremendous strength, then he will commend you. If you are a noble who is lazy and wastes their talent, then he will treat you like dung. Instructor Qin himself is a testament to his own motto, as he is the only Earthen Realm instructor in the academy.

It is already an unspoken agreement that he will soon become an Elder, and that is why so many people just like Instructor Cheng is trying their best to get on his good side.

Instructor Qin scanned the list and gave his approval before approaching a green glass ball that was on a pedestal. His voice boomed inside the Desolate Fang Pagoda, "You that remain have proven that you are deserving of your talent, and as such, you have acquired the privilege of being a disciple of Tang Fei."

The now disciples began rejoicing. For some, this was their life's goal, and for some, they barely managed to conquer their opponents. Naturally, this was a time of jubilation.

However, their jubilation was cut short by Instructor Qin; "You have two choices from here. Either you can remain in the pagoda and continue fighting against stronger opponents, or you can leave the pagoda." "Leaving the pagoda does not affect your acceptance in the academy, so you do not have to worry. That being said, should you not leave within 10 breaths of time then I will take it as your desire to continue."

With that, the transmission was cut and around 40 disciples left immediately. They had barely scraped past an opponent of their talent and now Instructor Qin wants them to fight even stronger opponents?

They logically chose to leave so they do not make a fool of themselves. They had no idea how much they would come to regret that decision, but that is for another time.

Currently, inside the Desolate Fang Pagoda, the remaining 33 disciples all began their brawl. Some of them were easily stomped by their opponents; some barely crooked through and managed to pull away a win. On the other hand, some utterly crush their opponent.

Among that small list included talents such as Zhou Wei, Lu Yan, Dong Lin, and Qin Qingtian. Of course, Tian Longmeng easily placed on that list. In fact, the person in question is currently yawning while contorting the face of his "opponent" with his left foot.

Tian Longmeng was originally jubilant about there being more opponents after that disappointing bout he had before. However, he was betrayed by the arrival of a Dim Green Talent.

So, he spent the majority of the time toying around with whichever opponent the pagoda would spit at him.

By the time a Dim Black Talent appeared, Tian Longmeng was already sitting in the middle of the pagoda with a lazy expression. "Are you going to be an actual challenge or will you be worthless like the rest? Tell me from now."

The opponent's face twisted with anger as he dashed towards Tian Longmeng.

"Hmm, he actually had a reaction." Tian Longmeng chuckled while remaining his seat watching the oncoming attack.
