Osaka, Japan

The young man rolled his eyes and said, "are you deaf? Who else could we both know and say an endearing nickname besides Xiao Ying?"

Riku replied irritated, "I was just confused ok? It's been many years since we've seen her, you know?"

The young man just ignored the fellow to stop himself from getting mad and just repeated himself, "anyways do you want this chance or not? I am giving you a chance to spend time with Xiao Ying, otherwise do you think you would be able to see her again so soon? Do not forget who you and I are and who she is"

Riku replied back instantly forgetting how his friend was insulting his hearing a few seconds ago, "of course I want too! She is the light in our lives!"

The young man nodded and said, "ok so this is the plan…"

After 5 minutes of explaining the plan his boss mentioned before but in a more detailed plan to his friend that he made after leaving his boss's office

Riku hesitantly said, "are you sure this is ok? I do not want to hurt Xiao Ying…"

The young man replied, "do you think we have a choice? If we do not do this, she could possibly be killed by boss"

Riku frustrated, replied, "fine but remember that is your boss, he is just my uncle"

The young man agreed with him for the sake of saving energy that would have been wasted from arguing with this man "ok, just come by my penthouse to finalize your documents and whatnot"

Riku said, "ok" and he hung up

The young man looked out of the window deep in thought, seemingly going down memory lane

- flashback, 18 years ago, Osaka, Japan -

A little girl, around the age of 8 years old was playing in the park of the private community of the riches elites in Japan and/or the whole of Asia as Osaka was not only one of the top 3 safest cities, it was also a peaceful nature environment unlike Tokyo, though both cities are almost of equal standing.

While the little girl was swinging on the swings, two boys, around the ages of 10-12 years old came to the little girl

The first boy, who looked like the older of the two, said, "Xiao Ying! Wanna play together? It has been a while since you have come from China!"

The second boy, though a little shy, also agreed with the first boy saying, "yes Xiao Ying! We should play together as you have not come to Japan for a couple months to a year now"

The little girl, nicknamed Xiao Ying by the two little boys, replied back, "ok! Let me get off the swings and we can play at my house! Granddad* is home and can help make us some sweets too!"

The two boys looked at each other and nodded with the older one of the boys saying, "sure! I can't wait to meet Grandfather Huang* again!"

[A/N: Granddad and Grandfather Huang are the same person, at the end of ch it'll explain who he is more in detail. Both have one * as it's the same person with same explantation]

All three children walked over to one of the biggest mansions in the private community

The little girl went over to the gate where a guard stood and said to the guard, "Uncle Ren my friends and I are going to play together!"

The originally stern looking man's face started smiling and his eyes became gentle as he said, "Ying-chan, welcome back and enjoy playing with your friends!" while speaking he punched in a code which let the iron gates open to show a beautiful courtyard with lots of pretty flowers and a circular driveway, in the middle of the circle stands a beautiful fountain which stood proudly

The kids went to the main door where a butler, fondly called as Butler Liu who works wherever Patriarch Huang* would be, technically speaking Butler Liu was Patriarch Huang's personal butler but when Patriarch Huang is with Xiu Ying, he works for her as well

All three kids, familiar with Butler Liu, greeted him enthusiastically, "Hello Butler Liu!" in perfect Chinese as these three kids mastered Chinese, Japanese, and English so far

Butler Liu smiled fondly at the kids and said, "Welcome back Young Masters and Young Miss Li"

Xiu Ying was the first to complain, "Butler Liu, I told you to call me Xiao Ying or Ying'er or Ying-chan! Hmph I will complain to Granddad" and childishly made the "hmph" sound and crossed her arms under her chest and turned her head acting really angry

Butler Liu just smiled helplessly at the young girl and nodded to coax her surrendered and said, "yes yes my fault you- Xiao Ying"

The little girl turned her head and nodded, "that's better" and turned to the two boys and said, "c'mon guys! Let's find Granddad to make sweets first then go to the backyard to play!"

The two boys nodded and first greeted Butler Liu, "good morning Butler Liu"

Butler Liu smiled back and said, "good morning young ones"

Then the two boys followed Xiu Ying who was going to the study on the third floor using the elevator installed to go up faster making the two boys to jog to catch up to her

All three kids got into the elevator and went to one of the only rooms on the third floor, Patriarch Huang's study room where the man in question was currently looking over the company's stock and documents when young Xiu Ying knocked on his door to get him to bake sweets with the three kids.

We'll mostly bake with young Xiu Ying as the other boys are not as good and are a little afraid of Patriarch Huang but hold great respect for the old man.

Patriarch Huang's aged but deep and still powerful voice said, "come in"

All three children went it with young Xiu Ying leading them, obviously as she is the biological granddaughter of the powerful chinese-japanese businessman, Huang Hoshi, also Xiu Ying's maternal grandfather

"Granddad!" young Xiu Ying yelled and jumped onto the elder's lap making the man stun for a second before replying gently, "Ying'er"

"Granddad! Come bake some sweets with us pleaseeeee" young Xiu Ying stretched her words out and used puppy eyes to get him to agree

Grandfather Huang replied, "anything for my Ying'er" then he noticed the two boys while holding the young Xiu Ying on his lap and said, "boys" while nodding

The two boys bowed in respect and replied back, "good morning Grandfather Yang!"

Grandfather Huang was satisfied with his little granddaughters friends here in Japan and replied back, "good morning you two"

After the greetings, Grandfather Huang put down the young Xiu Ying gently on the ground before standing up with his powerful aura that was also gentle because of his granddaughter being present with him

Even though he was in his mid 70s, he was still fit and formidable and the chairman of Huang Industries.

They four went to the elevator to go to the first floor where Butler Liu already prepared ingredients for making brownies as those are their favorites, excluding Patriarch Huang who doesn't really eat sweets but eats them occasionally for events such as banquets or when his granddaughter wanted to bake sweets for him as he use to for the late Matriarch Yang** who loved sweets despite her old age. Out of the three kids, Xiu Ying and the second boy loved sweets the most.

---

*= Patriarch Huang, Grandad, Grandfather Huang, Chairman Huang, etc are all the same person. He is the grandfather on Xiu Ying's maternal (mother's side) I use the term 'Granddad' as Patriarch Li/Grandfather Li will be address as Grandpa so to make it easier to tell who is who I let Xiu Ying call Patriarch Huang 'Granddad' although it is not used much I think. Also, if it says anywhere with 'Yang' instead of 'Huang' please let me know as I accidentally forgot Huang Jing surname was Huang and her mother is the one with the 'Yang' surname

** = she will be hardly mentioned as she past away but if Grandfather Huang is mentioned or when Xiu Ying's maternal side is mentioned, most likely she will pop up

Who are the boys?

Why did Xiu Ying go to Japan but does not mention it anymore? Is it because something happened beforehand? Why does Patriarch Huang stay in Japan so much?
