Gods And Titans

There were three generals under Astrid's command, Dimanche, Wahush, and Sage. All three of them had a special weapon.

Dimanche was native American. He had a spear made of enchanted Uru that could fire energy blasts and cause small earthquakes in targeted areas. Dimanche was also good at throwing knives.

Wahush was native American. He had a small crossbow that fired different kinds of energy bolts and carried a Gladius made of Adamantine.

Sage was European. She had a special pair of gauntlets that multiplied her strength multiple times, and an impregnable armor made of Vibranium.

Dimanche and Wahush were Apostles, while Sage was a Heretic. They were adept in some basic spells, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The Kingdom of Argos, many years later.

Now Perseus and Elle had grown up.

Perseus joined the army and became the captain of a legion, like Draco in the movie, while Elle successfully merged with Medusa and now followed Astrid.

When King Kepheus ordered one of his legions to destroy a statue of Zeus as a declaration of war against the gods, Astrid saw this as a great opportunity.

The soldiers did as they were told. The statue of Zeus was destroyed, but because Hades commanded some harpies to attack, only a few made it back alive.

A feast was soon arranged in the throne room of Argos for the returning soldiers to celebrate the victory.

After the King gave a nice speech, the crowd cheered.

However, Princess Andromeda appeared to be frowning.

So she was taunted by the Queen, "That frown doesn't suit you, Andromeda, have something to drink. You'll feel more lively.".

Andromeda argued, "Have you seen what's happening out there? Have you even bothered to look?".

"We serve as an inspiration.", the Queen replied.

"Hundreds of our men have lost their lives, yet we celebrate. You provoke the gods and you act as if there will be no consequence.", Andromeda spoke.

The queen replied, "Well, what do you want? Should we be afraid? Should we be trembling and soiling ourselves in fear?".

Then the queen took two steps forward and declared loudly to everyone, "The gods need us. They need our worship. What do we need of them? Look at my daughter, what could be more divine than her face? More beautiful than all the women in Greece. More beautiful than Aphrodite herself. The Olympians should envy her. We are the gods now.".

This woman had completely lost it. All the cheers had long stopped and only voices of concern remained. People were truly afraid now.

Even the King came forward to shut her up, "My queen, you are making a spectacle.".

But it was already too late.

With the sound of creatures squawking, the temperature suddenly dropped and a black mist slowly filled the throne room.

After the incident with the statue, Hades went to Olympus to convince his brother to let him loose on humanity to punish Argos for its hubris.

The black mist slowly converged and started spinning into a tornado with terrifying attraction force.

With screams of misery was constantly ringing out, all the surviving soldiers who had returned from destroying Zeus' statue were swallowed without resistance.

Then it slowly halted and turned into Hades.

Hades stood in front of Kepheus and Cassiopeia, and spoke, "You are specks of dust beneath our fingernails. Your very breath is a gift from Olympus. You have insulted powers beyond your comprehension.".

Cassiopeia asked with disdain, "Who are you?".

"I am Hades.", he replied.

And with that, fear spread throughout the court, as exclamations of horror and surprise became apparent.

"Kneel.", Hades commanded.

And they did. They all kneeled, be it King, or Queen, their guards, or the servants.

Hades asked Cassiopeia, "What do you know of beauty? What is more beautiful than death?", then he gently raised her head to make her look up, "Gaze upon me, mortal queen.".

As their eyes met, a thin wisp of black ash entered her body and started to age her rapidly. It was like years had passed in a blink of an eye. Her face began to wrinkle as she felt weaker and weaker, closer to death.

Just at this time, Wahush, who was behind the queen dressed as a guard, tore off his disguise.

When the effect of the simple glamour spell ended, a native American man emerged wearing an expensive-looking armor.

As Hades was busy with the queen, Wahush raised his golden crossbow and started firing madly.

Although the energy bolts had no effect on Hades, he was completely taken by surprise and didn't react until Wahush was already standing in front of him, just about to strike him with his Gladius.

"HOW DARE YOU MORTALS!!", Hades yelled in anger.

He didn't evade. He was a God and these mortal weapons couldn't harm him. He raised his hand to catch the blade to let this mortal feel utter despair before his death.

However, as he caught the simple-looking Gladius, "Bang!", it released an impact force that nearly blew away the people around them. Those closest to them started bleeding from their ears.

Hades was standing casually without any guard, so he had to take a step back, while Wahush was blown back a couple of meters because of the reaction force.

Hades was surprised by the weight behind this attack.

How could these mortals possess this much power?

No, he couldn't be a mortal. Hades felt the presence of another god from him, an unfamiliar one that even he didn't know about. This was bad. Hades decided to capture him alive for interrogation.

However, just as he was ready to advance, he felt a sharp pain coming from his gut. The kind he hadn't felt for thousands of years.

Hades looked down, only to find a spear tip coming from his gut.

Dimanche had impaled him from behind with his enchanted Uru spear.

First, a weapon that didn't turn to dust after striking him, and now one that could even harm him? What are these weapons made of? Who made them? Hephaestus? Wasn't he just a mortal now?

These thoughts instantly flashed in Hades' head.

When Dimanche took out the spear from his gut, Hades ignored the pain and turned around and punched.

Dimanche didn't entangle with him and just fired an energy blast at close range, making Hades miss.

Then Dimanche hit the back of his spear on the ground, causing a quake on the ground where Hades was standing, making him stagger.

At the same time, Wahush constantly fired energy bolts from his crossbow to distract Hades as he approached him from another direction.

However, Hades had had enough by now. He no longer cared to catch them alive.

He rose in the air and looked down at them.

"So these creatures can't fly!", Hades understood at the glance.

Since that was the case, he could easily knock them out and capture them alive.

He raised his palm at Wahush, generating a terrifying attraction force.

But Wahush adjusted his crossbow and fired it at the wall behind him. It released a thin rope of energy that attached itself to the wall, like Batman's Grapple Gun.

Seeing him able to hold on, Hades used his other hand to fire a blast of black energy at Wahush.

But at this time, Dimanche interfered and fired a blast of energy from his spear to offset the one from Hades.

Wahush was nearly exhausted and was running on fumes from having to resist Hades's attraction force.

Even if Wahush was an Apostle, it would take him a while to recover.

And Hades knew that.

So he raised his palm and focussed the attraction force on Dimanche.

Dimanche plunged his spear into the ground and managed to resist.

Now Hades had completely lost patience. He was done playing.

He didn't care if he failed to control his strength and completely destroyed this kingdom by accident. These mortals attacked him, and they deserved their fate. If Zeus later blamed him for defending himself, then so be it. Hades could not tolerate this disrespect any longer.

He turned into black mist and started spinning. The attraction force generated this time was many times stronger.

Although it was focused entirely on Dimanche and Wahush, it also affected others.

One must understand that Hades was a universe-level being. He only entangled with them for so long because he had many concerns.

Now that he was truly displeased and wanted this farce to end, nothing could stop him.

Few people who were standing close were instantly sucked in and disintegrated into subatomic particles.

As time passed, the attraction force only increased. Screams of misery began to ring.

The walls began to break apart, and the palace began to crumble.

The wall where Wahush was hanging also broke, and he was sucked into the tornado, turning into subatomic dust.

From now on, Astrid would only have two generals.

Just at this time when it seemed like it was the end of times in Argos, a Princess' handmaiden tore off her disguise and turned into Danae.

Because of the constant chaos around, nobody noticed it.

Danae took something out of her garments, and after pressing a red button, she threw it at the tornado.

The next moment, the tornado disappeared in a ball of white light like it was never there.

Gods would never agree to what Astrid wished to do. They would always be in her way.

They could not be killed or trapped.

So Astrid chose another way - 'Distraction'. Not one with deception, but the ultimate distraction of time.

Through her watch, Astrid could enter any world at any era, timeline, or specific time, except for where she had already existed before.

If she used her watch on the gods, then according to the same principle, they couldn't be sent back in time because they already existed there, but they would no longer exist in the future after the watch was used to send them away.

Therefore, the watch could be used to send them into the future.

That's where Danae sent Hades. Forward in time.

At the end of the day, all Astrid needed was time. So she procured a few more watches from Himinnheim.

.

Over the years, Astrid relentlessly searched for the island where Hephaestus was banished, and only found it recently.

Hephaestus was just a mortal now, so he was easily compelled to be their guide to the Underworld.

Astrid, Perseus, Elle, and Sage made their way to the backdoor of Tartarus that Hephaestus had built into it.

As Hephaestus got busy with opening the door, Astrid started tinkering with her bracelet which contained a storage space inside it.

This bracelet was created to survive world jumps. Something like this didn't exist in Himinnheim until Astrid sent some powerful immortal witches and warlocks into the world labeled as, 'Bright'.

There they found the embodiment of magic called 'Wand', which was nothing like the usual wands, but something powerful enough to destroy or reshape the very reality.

Even with this special material, it took them three centuries of research and development, then resurrecting someone called the dark lord and stealing his power to create Astrid's bracelet.

Thanks to the Watch, when they came back to Himinnheim, they came to the time one day after they left.

In this way, for the people of Himinnheim, it was like only a day had passed for the bracelet to be made.

Just as Hephaestus got busy with opening the door, Astrid took out a coffin from the storage space inside her bracelet.

This sudden action surprised everyone present.

This coffin had a built-in system that allowed her to instantly change her body with the one inside it, her original body.

Before anyone could ask, Io walked in front behind the coffin and Astrid came out from the front. Io's body now laid peacefully in the coffin.

As Astrid took back the coffin into her storage bracelet, she found Perseus and Elle looking at her in surprise.

"Sister Astrid... what is this!?", Elle asked her in astonishment.

"My original body.", she replied calmly.

"Original body?", Perseus asked.

"The body I was born with... Didn't I explain to you already?", Astrid replied.

"You... you just told us that your real name is Astrid, and you used an alias to hide from the gods.", Elle spoke confusedly.

"How can it be possible to hide from the gods by just changing your name!? Of course, you need a body to go along with it.", Astrid replied contemptuously like it was obvious, leaving Perseus and Elle speechless.

After the backdoor of Tartarus opened, they found themselves in an ever-changing, moving maze, but with Hephaestus, the creator of this place with them, they easily navigated out of it.

When they came out, they found themselves in an open space with hundreds of Underworld creatures staring at them, guarding the way to the sealed Kronos who could clearly be seen from here.

Sage had already used a linking spell to link herself to Hephaestus to make sure he wouldn't die.

Without any pause, the creatures attacked them.

Perseus gripped his spear tightly and charged.

Elle transformed into her Medusa form and slithered forward. Flashes of lightning were shining in her palms.

The gauntlets Sage was wearing began to shine with golden light. She jumped high towards a horde, and as she came down and hit the ground, it released a shockwave that blew everything away.

Astrid flew up, ready to fire continuous streams of Omega beams.

.

Even with their impressive line-up, it took hours for the battle to end, not surprising considering these creatures managed to put pressure on even Zeus and Poseidon at one time.

Astrid and Elle were the main force. Astrid blasted away the flying creatures, while Elle took care of all the big ones, including the Kraken. She either turned them into stone or blasted them away with electricity. Perseus and Sage supported the two by slaughtering a large number of horde-type enemies.

In the end, the group came to the center of Tartarus where Kronos was sealed up.

Even in his sealed form, Kronos was as big as a mountain. A particularly bigger mountain.

Once they gazed upon Kronos, fear would inevitably grip the hearts of those not firm enough. His terrifying presence was unsettling to anything living and existing.

Without wasting any time, Astrid took out a basketball-size metallic ball from her storage bracelet and threw it at Kronos.

While in mid-air, it began to glow in golden light, and when it hit Kronos it turned into countless golden concentric magic circles covering him, while four pillars of earth began to rise from four directions, surrounding him.

This was the 'spell of life and soul concept'. This spell was so advanced that even in Himinnheim, only Qetsiyah could cast it except for Kol, and she gave it to Astrid in this form.

It was in the dormant form before, but when Astrid released it, it was activated.

She flew forward and began to input different variables, including the attribute and conditions to be added.

It was all very simple.

Previously, when Astrid did the spell on herself, she added, 'devour when triggered', and the conditions were, 'merge', and 'upgrade soul'.

This time, now that it was to be done on Kronos, the attribute added was, 'be devoured if an attempt is made'. The conditions were, 'delete mind', and 'preserve everything else'.

This way, except for Kronos' mind everything else about his being would be devoured cleanly by Astrid.

.

It didn't take long for the light show to end and the spell to be completed.

Thankfully, no god showed up. Perhaps Hades wasn't important enough for them so they didn't notice his disappearance, or maybe they thought he went to the Underworld where he couldn't be sensed. After all, he was a very private person.

"Is it over?", Perseus asked Astrid from behind.

"That was incredible, all very... godly disco-like.", Elle was still stupefied even after it ended. After all, this was the first time she witnessed a real high-level spell being performed.

Astrid was very emotional. This was years of work for her, with a lot of sentiments involved. She just stood there in front of Kronos, taking deep calm breaths.

This sense of accomplishment brought her a strange serenity that compelled her to just stay right there and witness the result of her efforts right in front of her eyes.

Now only the final step remained. She just had to reach out and take what she wanted and this quest was almost over.

But she subconsciously didn't want it to end, she was afraid she would feel empty.

Sage noticed her state, "Lady Astrid...".

Astrid murmured to herself, "This is it... I wonder...", she wondered if this was enough.

But deep inside she knew, not nearly so.

Then she looked up and flew towards Kronos.

One quest over, another to begin.

Soon she stood on top of Kronos' head, which was as big as a building.

She bent down and touched his stone skin with her hands, then closed her eyes and triggered the attribute of her soul, devour.

By condition, the newly added attribute in Kronos's soul was also activated.

His huge titan body started to shake and crumble. Chunks of rocks started falling off, and because of how gigantic he was, the whole of Tartarus started quaking.

It didn't last long. Kronos soon turned into a pile of rocks.

Astrid floated in the air, and in front of her was a mass of tangerine color energy, with some smoke and fire-like energy mixed into it.

This was Kronos' very essence, his memories, his strength, his source, everything that Kronos was, was turned into this form.

Astrid didn't wait to admire it but started to separate the tangerine energy from smoke and fire-like energy.

This tangerine energy was Kronos' true power, his power of time, and his racial abilities as a titan. Astrid would even devour his memories, all the useful ones anyway.

On the other hand, this smoke and fire-like energy was Kronos' abilities of fire, darkness, and earth. Astrid didn't want this. This wasn't her style. Instead, taking these out would make room for something else.

Astrid first stored the smoke and fire-like energy into her storage bracelet, then she slowly started to absorb Kronos.

At first, she felt her power multiply exponentially, she felt like all her hard work paid off. But as time passed, she felt more and more like she couldn't take it anymore.

She stopped absorbing Kronos and landed on the ground, sweating, trembling, struggling to keep herself from exploding and releasing all the power she had just absorbed.

Even this very small percentage of Kronos' power was enough to blow up this planet easily.

This was Astrid's original body. It had the power of the Omega effect and was very strong. However, by definition, there was a limit to how much it could grow, because, in the end, it was just a body of an Alpha Dhampir.

After reaching a certain limit, Astrid's cells started to show signs of necrosis. This body was dying.

In desperation, she used a high-level sealing spell that might hold for a few minutes and took out a coffin from her storage bracelet.

Astrid changed her body with Io's body, then started absorbing the power absorbed inside her original body before the seal wore off.

This body didn't have any limits to its evolution, so it was all very easy. It didn't take long for her to absorb all its energy.

However, by now this original body of her had deteriorated far too much. Astrid knew it was ruined and she couldn't use it anymore. She would have to stick with Io's body from now on.

Just one more chapter and we'll be back in the TVD world.
