Unexpected turn of events I

The night rolled over bringing a threat of a storm. The clear blue sky was now transformed into an ocean of blackness. Glittering stars illuminated the moonless, black sky as if to remind us that even in darkness there is still light. A cool breeze swept the still crowded streets of the Lake-town. Owls swept silently overhead. Even shadows were swallowed by the encroaching darkness.

"Father, mother, how are you doing in the sky?"

Sparkling tears rolled down Lia's cheeks, but she forced herself not to let them fall. She was curling into a ball like an abandoned little girl and watching the sky. Her delicate figure caused one to be unable to refrain from pampering her.

At this time, a pair of rough but warm hands patted her shoulders.

"Don't cry anymore Lia, if your family is still here, they won't wish for you to be so sad"

Lia's eyes were filled with grief, fear, and anger.

It was too much to endure for a young girl like her.
