Tragedy

Rick had just arrived at the harbor and saw the figure of a person in dark-red robes staring at the sea. From time to time this person would stare at the incoming ships, waiting for something. He didn't even need to think, Rick already knew who it was and walked over while making eye contact.

"Mystic, what is it that they made you come all the way here instead of just sending a message with the obelisk? You won't be here if it's not something of extreme importance." Rick send his voice through the obelisk and Mystic turned to stare at him. He felt something wrong from the way she looked at him and he started to feel anxious.

"What is it? Why do you keep staring at me like that?"

Mystic took a deep breath. She knew this type of thing was never good so they needed to make sure he would be difficult to take it. Then she hid her complex feelings and rose her voice. "Follow me, Ares is waiting for us."

Rick felt intense coldness in the spine the moment she said this. He could already feel something terrible happened. "What? Where are you going to take me?"

Following Mystic, they walked by a few familiar streets, his old school where he saw a few of the juniors he knew from back then playing by a small lake. Then he saw his old apartment, uncle Jin's house and they suddenly stopped by the walls of a two-story house where he saw Ares in a black suit waiting at the entrance. It was when he noticed something.

"Wait, why are we at my home?" He was really happy with the money he made and even wished to throw a party for his parents despite everyone else other than a few knows that he is even alive. Ares was silent and he started to understand something when he burst into the house only to see sword marks all over the walls. With even more despair he ran up the stairs, the second floor was full of smoke and the smell of fire, in the middle of the room he saw two small piles of ashes located close to one another.

"What...."Rick could not believe what he saw. Then he extended his hand trying to grab something in the air as he noticed a shining dot in the middle of the ashes. It was a simple golden ring with a single ruby.

"This... This was mother's...." Sparks of lightning lit his eyes with full force, while an intense killing

intent arose. When he was about to lose his mind a small, but soft hand grabbed his wrist, Rick turned around and saw Artemis staring at him with tearful eyes. He could not understand why, but Artemis seemed sadder than him, heartbroken even. Ares then put his hand on Rick's shoulder.

"Boy, I'm truly sorry. I really didn't think they would do this after the news of your death... While your father was away, your mother was grieving in the corned of her room when her sister visited. We have people watching from outside, but who could have thought a sudden fire would start inside the house. The sword marks were..."

Ares was about to continue when Rick interrupted with a cold voice, "I don't care about how it happened, just tell me about who."

While Ares, Artemis and Mystic could not feel because of their strength, a powerful and wild force surrounded the neighborhood. Anyone in the area without enough strength would kneel down on the ground without being able to move.

"You should not stare at like this." Ares chuckled darkly. He had to take care, if he could easily see the flow of energy in Rick's body going wild, it means it would not took much for him to lose control of his power and be consumed.

"Calm down, I know where the killers are and we are going to take care of them soon. And just so you know, you are not the only one who should feel sad or angry. It was supposed to be a secret, but Artemis is your sister."

"What?!" The surprise was so much that all the lighting on his eyes vanished without leaving a trace.
