Something new

Max was woken up by the sound of rowdy boys, rocking beds, and the light of the 'sun' outside. He got up as his hearing became clearer. "GOOOOOOOD MORNING!!" called the first boy in the top bunk across from him. He rubbed his eyes as a second boy came over "OoH are you new here?!" Max huffed as he looked at the boy "yes, yes I am.." The boy in the top bunk peeked in "oh hey new kid" he murmured his hair falls in front of his face.

Max got out of bed and started walking out "WaiT don't you need someone to help you around?!" the second boy yelled to him. "No, I'll find my way around." He said closing the door. He walked around the halls and back down to the ballroom. He walked to the desk and asked the lady "Mam where is Alfred?.." She looked at him confused for a second "oh! You mean your assistant" Her fingers tapped away on the front desk keyboard as she pulled up his name.

"He's out right now so you can wait here." She said patting her chair behind the desk. He went behind the desk and sat down. After 5-10 mins Alfred walked to the door and over to the desk. "oh I guess you've been babysitting my child" he giggled as Max pouted, hoping off of the chair as they walked to Alfred's room. The boy sat on the taller man's bed as the man dug through a bag.

"I got you some new clothes" He hummed as he pulled out a school outfit, pajamas, and some other clothes. He tried some of it on before relaxing back onto the bed "I want to go outside!" Max whined to the bigger man. Alfred's ears perked up "outside?! What do you mean?" "You know I want to explore, learn about this place…" Alfred looked down at the boy's request but agreed anyway. "If this is what you want then I won't stop you Mr. Cinderbolt." Max huffed "Please don't call me that…"

After Max put on his new clothes, Alfred sat up "let's go to the library, there's a girl I want you to meet there" This seemed to pique his curiosity. "Oh ok, who is she? Do I know her? This is suspicious…" The boy questioned as Alfred waltzed down the hall "oh child the more questions you ask the more you'll spiral." They made it outside and walked to the library.

They entered the library and Alfred let go of Max's hand "go on now have fun, tell me anything you learn" he said softly as he sat at a table, pulled out his reading glasses, and opened a small file. Max wandered around aimlessly not really knowing what to do. He looked at a few children's books, fiddled around with a dictionary for a while, and walked around. He wandered around some more checking in on Alfred every now and then. "Why don't you go to the History section?"

He finally found the history and walked down the aisle. He turned to the aisles and was generally avoiding ones that had people in them. He finally found an empty aisle and walked down it. He looked through the shelves and couldn't find anything that would answer his questions. "Maybe it's in the biology section…" he mumbled trailing his hands across the other shelf.

His hand bumped into someone else's "Oh sorry…" his words trailed off as he looked at the girl "Max?..."
