"Now, leave!" Averill roared in deep voice which could be heard throughout the entire city and his aura exploded outwards. The ground began trembling like an earthquake on the magnitude of above 8, buildings began crumbling under the sheer pressure of his aura.
There were three people that felt the pressure even more than the rest, and they were Flash, Aquaman and Batman. They could feel the hatred and maliciousness behind Averill's aura. Flash who had lost his consciousness woke up before fainting once again due to the pressure from Averill, Aquaman was barely able to stand up on his own legs and Batman was already down on his knees.
Bruce had to grit his teeth together, his mind was clear, yet his body was giving away. "Damn it…!" Bruce roared in a deep voice, he had underestimated Averill way too much, the scale of Averill's abilities that he had shown so far is above almost anyone he had seen till now.
And just as sudden the trembling began, it vanished without anyone knowing why.
Averill turned around and walked inside his house, a large grin slowly crept up on his face. "Now, they will do what I want them to do." Averill muttered to himself.
Harleen didn't follow Averill, she was way too shocked to even think clearly. The mysterious man whose name is Averill had shown her way too many things. 'First being first, Averill himself is like no one in personality which seems to be like a shattered mirror, sharp broken glass everywhere. And not enough with that, his strength and powers seem to be able to overpower anyone. Who can stop such a guy?' Harleen wondered deeply about this, but unbeknownst to herself, a large smile was on her face.
After having finally ended her thoughts, Harleen saw that Averill was nowhere to be seen. She turned around and saw the door to the mansion was already open. "Oh!" Harleen guessed that Averill had already went inside, so she did the same, she walked inside. Harleen was curiously looking after Averill as she walked deeper inside the mansion.
"What am I smelling?" Harleen was able to smell something fragrant, if she had to guess what it was it would be, dinner. She followed the exquisite aroma of the food she could smell, and it didn't take long before Harleen opened another door. But the moment she did that, a stream of the lovely aroma gushed out and basked her in it.
Harleen gazed in front of her, she surprisingly saw three people sitting around a table. A bald man, a woman in her twenties with black hair, and lastly; Averill. And on the table, she could see dozens of platters of food of all kind, meat, soup, salad, fish and many other things.
"Can we eat now? I'm hungry, I have barely eaten anything since last night." Saitama complained whilst sending weak glances towards Averill and Laura.
Yet the ever stoic and cold expression on Laura was still the same, no, in fact, it was even colder than usual. She fiercely gazed at Saitama before rebuking in a cold tone. "What are you, a dog who can't handle going on an empty stomach for half a day? Averill said wait a moment longer." Laura was also hungry, yet she didn't reach out for the food or even look at it, as Averill had told them earlier – to wait.
Laura then gazed at Averill, her extremely cold expression vanished before turning normal again. "The doctor guest of yours is here." Laura was only staring at Averill, but she could easily sense, hear and even smell the woman.
In fact, Saitama was able to do the same, but he didn't care about anything else right now other than the food in front of him.
Averill didn't bother turning towards Harleen who was standing near the doorframe. "Come." He only spoke a single word in a soothing voice whilst gazing towards the window on the wall behind Laura and Saitama.
Even whilst only saying a single word, Harleen knew that Averill meant her. She happily trotted forward towards the table. On one side, Averill was sitting alone, and on the other side, the bald man and the stoic woman was sitting not too far from each other. Harleen took the chair which was not too far away from Averill and placed it near him before sitting on it with a smile.
Harleen then quickly began observing the two people sitting in front of her. The bald man who looked extremely hungry and sad, and onwards towards the stoic and cold woman who didn't even bother gazing back at her.
"Hi! I'm Harleen Quinzel, what about you guys?" Harleen had a bright and cheerful tone in her voice. Harleen was able to see through the two of them, that they didn't even bother with her existence, and she knew what type of people did that, those who either feel above other 'regular' human beings, or they are with great strength and ability so they feel something different from being a normal human like the rest. Almost like a complexity of being better in every way.
And Harleen knew the answer without needing to look at it for too long. 'Just like humans look down upon apes for being dumb. People with strength and powers look down upon normal humans for being weak.'
"Laura." Laura spoke out her name whilst still looking at Averill, before a second had passed, she opened her mouth once again. "Laura Kaiser is my name." Laura then looked at the expression of Averill, wanting to see if he would have any reactions, may the reactions be good or bad… Laura was quite tense, but she wasn't able to see a single change on Averill's face.
"I'm Saitama, and I'm hungry…" Saitama wanted to cry, the delicious food was in front of him, yet he couldn't eat it unless he wanted to get blown far away by Averill. Even without trying it or hearing a threat from Averill, Saitama could feel it, if he tried eating first, he would get attacked by Averill. And most likely not being allowed to eat the food, which was something Saitama didn't want to risk.
"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet the two of you, Laura and Saitama." Harleen had a big smile on her face, yet she was holding back her smirk, as she had also seen how the woman called Laura tried to put the last name of Averill in her name too and then checking after Averill's expression. Even without looking at Averill, Harleen knew how he would react, and that would be no reactions at all. Harleen knew for a fact, that Averill was most likely able to control most of his feelings and emotions.
Laura was able to hear a hint of mockery in the voice of Harleen, but before she could say anything, she heard Averill speak.
"Let's eat for now. Just like the two of you, Harleen might join my army if I deem her worthy." Averill's voice was soothing like ever, and on his face, he had his usual weird smile that showed too many emotions and looked fake and real at the same time.
The moment Averill's words ended, the first person to move was Saitama. He grabbed a few platters of meat and a ramen bowl; he then began eating like a hungry wolf with a huge smile on his face as he ate the tasty food.
Laura moved silently yet swiftly and grabbed a few platters before eating in a normal pace. The food was much better than anything else she had tasted elsewhere, which was why she only enjoyed eating the food Averill made. She didn't bother about Harleen any longer, and she only gazed at Averill with her stoic expression.
And like Saitama and Laura, Harleen also grabbed a few platters that looked nice looking and began eating. After having eaten the first bite, an explosive of tastes entered her mouth. She had never eaten anything like the food that was in front of her, Harleen hastened the speed of her eating.
Out of the four, only Averill wasn't eating, he continued having the weird smile on his face whilst gazing outside the window. In the short few minutes, he had been talking with the System.
[Does Host wish to accept the Mission?] The System only spoke into Averill's mind.
The right hand of Averill, which was hidden beneath the table, and right now, his right hand was twitching crazily. Averill was able to hold back his facial expressions to move, but he was never able to refrain from stopping the twitching and itching that came from his right hand.
