Today he was going to fight, he woke up feeling refreshed and frankly amazing. He stood up and stretched before he returned to meditating, he could hear chatter in the cages because a lot of the prisoners had become friends throughout the training camp. He pondered how it would go for Kin before he laughed at himself, Kin was probably one of the strongest people here, he should be worrying about himself instead.
When the familiar man entered and the degrees dropped several degrees. Everybody knew that soon, they would be forced to fight each other. Jake felt a tingle in his stomach, probably because of his uncertainty but he could not help but think it was his sixth sense was warning him for his impending doom. However, there were prisoners who were doing a lot worse than him, one person was praying to god, another one was having a nervous breakdown banging his hands against the floor multiple times. As Jake saw these people he felt a sense of remorse, he thought of both of them as bat shit crazy.
"Scruubbs" he screamed in a deep voice, " Today the drill we will be different, I will take out two people, and these people will follow me to the duel area. There they will fight and after they finish I will come here and grab two more of you scandrels" he said.
Then unfortunately for Jake, he wasn't lying and Jake was the first person he selected. Him and another person he had seen at the, 'fuck' Jake thought to himself because he would usually see this person frequent the obstacle course and was sure this person was a rogue. Rogues are rangers natural counters, both of them had high damage, practically the first person"to land an attack wins. The natural difference is, where the ranger had range, the rogue had mobility. One of the was ranged whilst the other one was ranged.
As they were walking through the dark hall Jake was filled with thoughts about how the fight would go and he was sure the Rouge did the same from his focused look. If the rogue came into melee range too early in the battle, the fight would surely be lost. Jake was not quite sure about the other special abilities but that would go the same for the rogue. He knew the fight would start without the rogue rushing blindly in to test his opponent. Jake knew that the fight would be decided by his first shot if it hit he would win because then could his range and wait for him to bleed out whilst bombarding him with shots. If it did not work, he would give an opening for the rogue to get closer. Jake thought that the first shout would be the deciding factor.
Eventually, they got to the room, outside the room there was a weapons board, these weapons felt a bit higher quality. Jake picked his classic iron bow whilst the rogue went with two 20-cm long daggers. Once he entered Jake saw that the walls in the room were mirrors. 'It must be one-way mirrors' Jake thought, the room was 10 meters long and 5 meters wide, enough space for the battle to take place. He noticed that all the light in the room came from one lightbulb.
"I want you both to position yourselves on one side of the arena. The second the door closes the fight starts," he said.
He stood there waiting for a couple of seconds, before looking at each contestant and giving a nod. Then he walked out, Jake followed each step of his, once his hand got to the doors handle he was hyper-focused. The second the door closed the fight would start and he did not want to waste a mili second. He stood in his wide stance with his left hand on the bow and his right on an arrow. Then finally the door was in its motion to close and he was ready, the second he heard the noise he pulled out his arrow and charged his bow towards the rogue.
The rogue had advanced two meters since the fight started, but now he was standing still staring at the arrow. He had to be focused on his next dodge as it would decide the battle. Suspense filled the air. Jake had filled the arrow with black magic and stood still. If he missed he would loose but if he hit he would win. They were at a draw. Suddenly, Jake pointed the bow upwards and shot the light bulb, the arrow travelled towards the light bulb, almost as if it were in slow motion. as the top of the arrow hit the light bulb he saw lighting come out of it. Then the entire room became pitch black. Jake quickly activated "predator's eyes" and looked at the rogue, he got shocked as the rogue was now sprinting towards him. 'If I can't see him, I'll just have to hear him' the rogue craftily thought. Jake did not have enough time to shoot another arrow, and the next move he would do was risky. Jake activated his demon form and threw his iron bow in the path of the rogue, he heard a large clang noise. He saw the rogue lose balance, and fall over. Jake had to finish this now. He ran over to the rogue who was slashing his daggers blindly at the sound. He got on top of him and disarmed him. Then he started hitting his head, this time the floor was concrete and it only took two hits before the rogue was out cold.
The fight was not over. Jake realised what he would have to do. He picked up his bow, pointed it straight towards his heart, loaded it and released an arrow. Then he felt a sharp sting in his lower neck which made him pass out.
When Jake awoke he was lying down, all he saw was the bright blue sky. It took him a few seconds to regain his direction but when he stood up he heard the familiar sound. As he looked behind him he saw a fountain.
