"Jakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Rudolf said, "Where have you been... What the fuck bro, leaving me hanging... I am so happy to see you... But fuck you for dissing me.... Lifes fucking tough... Wtf bro We are fuckign trappped TRAPPED... What will we do..." Rudolf rambled.
Rudolf did not stop, it was as if he was going through an emotional cycle repeatedly. First Jake listened but after the three minutes, he started looking for something else to put his focus on. After a while Rudolf realised what was happening and simply stared at Jake, Jake responded with a stare.
"Ye, shit is weird"
They sat there for minutes silently. Eventually, they figured that they should get to do something. Jake explained the things he had gone through to Rudolf, Rudolf simply dismissed it as if it were an everyday occurrence. Jake then explained his need for coin and asked if Rudolf was in the same position as him. Rudolf then explained that he had started with 11 silvers and thought everyone did the same. Only then did Jake realise he was a victim of theft, either way, he had to get money. He asked Rudolf how he had gotten by the last days. Rudolf responded by saying that he had been surviving by picking up small quests, like exterminate the rats, kill a few goblins. Simple and easy quests but also offering small rewards.
They made their way over to the Adventure Hall and looked at the quest board. The quests were varying, some of them were chores, whilst others involved dragons. Jake primarily had two goals, he wanted to become stronger and he also needed coin. He needed a quest that would be tough but also rewarding. Rudolf then pointed at a quest.
-
(Extermination quest)
Bandits have been ravaging merchants on their way to other cities. The merchants in response have put a hit on the bandits.
Reward: 20 silvers
The requirement for completion: Burn the camp of the bandits and bring the head of the leader.
-
The reward was big however there was no way of measuring how strong the bandits were. After a bit of arguing, Jake had convinced Rudolf to pick another quest. Again, Rudolf pointed at a quest.
-
(Extermination quest)
Child after child and recently adults have gone missing in the forest beside the village Abb. Eventually, the villagers grew angry and tired of the disappearances and set out to hunt whatever beast which had caused these disappearances. Eventually, the villagers had realised that they were being stalked. In the distance, they saw a crouching ogre with drool coming out of its mouth. The villagers started ran all the way back to the town. The villagers have now put out a hit on the ogre, but due to the villager's poverty, the reward is quite small.
Reward: 10 Copper
The requirement for completion: after killing the ogre, make the leader of the town send in a letter to the Adventure Hall detailing your success.
-
This quest had a bit more information on it but the reward was way too small Jake thought. After telling Rudolf his thoughts, Rudolf started getting annoyed with Jake. Rudolf challenged Jake to pick a quest. Jake then pointed at a quest.
-
(Chore quest)
A merchant is requesting protection for his journey to Blue City.
Reward: 5 silver
Punishment: 10 silver
The requirement for completion: The merchant successfully makes his way to Blue city and writes a letter to the Adventure Hall.

This time Rudolf groaned, 'a fucking escort quest, a bit more fighting maybe' Rudolf thought. However, before Rudolf could utter a word Jake explained himself. The other quest had detailed that there was a lot of robbers, so they were surely going to be attacked. This time however they did not have to kill every bandit, only the low scum they sent at us. After a bit of convincing, they decided to accept the quest.
Rudolf took the quest and handed it over to the clerk in the building. They got instructions of where to head and they took off. The merchant was leaving in two days and they were supposed to be there when he departed. In the meantime, they decided to explore the city.
The city had a large mansion in the middle of it. Jake figured the mayor must live there. They kept on exploring, they noticed a lot of activity in the alleyways. They got quite intrigued and decided to investigate.
They could not simply walk up there and introduce themselves, that would simply be foolish. The few seconds Jake had eye contact with the people in the alleyway he got a sense of danger. They had mean eyes, that sought to scare. Jake looked at them and noticed them trading something, 'could it be a drug' Jake thought.
Jake and Rudolf decided to stalk the shady people, but it was quite hard as the alleyway led to another one which led to another one and so on. They did what they thought was the smartest thing possible, they found a way onto the roof. The buildings were not very smooth, so they simply climbed up them. The passerby gave them weird looks. Now they were both on top of a roof, however, the roofs were not that high up, so they still had to be sneaky. After a while, the people in the alleyway started moving. As Jake had predicted, towards the alleyway. Jake and Rudolf followed after.
It felt like they took an unnecessary amount of turns almost as if they were lost. They made Jake Rudolf have to jump roof to roof, they were lucky not to attract the guard's attention. The shady folk eventually stopped before opening a manhole and entering the sewage system. Jake and Rudolf could not follow them anymore and they did not want to reveal anything, they decided to wait before entering the sewage system themselves. It was deeper than they thought going down more than 20 meters. Sadly, they found what they expected, absolutely nothing except a lot of sewage but they heard a noise and decided to follow it. Then they saw a black door, that almost blended into the walls and they entered and what they saw shocked them. There it was a complete city underground. It had inns and merchants as well as its own adventure hall. What surprised them the most was the amount of activity. It was flourishing, it felt as if there was more activity down here than up in the real city. However, there was a clear distinction, the people here felt a lot more dangerous. They all had weapons that seemed to be of higher quality and it felt as if they were avoiding each other. Then they saw a building that was similar to the "Adventure Hall" and decided to check it out.
It was very similar to the real adventure hall except for a few details. First of the name of the building was "Rogue Hall" and the quests were of a different nature. The place was packed and the quest board was even more packed. There were mages in coats, warriors with big shields taking up the entire seat, there were rogues with daggers that hurt to look at. Jake walked over to the quest board and read a few.
-
(Hit quest)
Kill Albert Thein, the fucker scammed me of 1 gold and I am willing to pay 30 silvers for anyone to kill him.
-
-
(Theft quest)
Steal the green amulet inside the mayors building, I will pay 50 silvers to however does it.
-
Jake noticed a pattern here, the quests were illegal and they were personally written by the quest givers. It felt much more unprofessional than the "Adventure Hall". The system down here seemed really fishy but the rewards were very high. These quests fit his class perfectly, the thought of being a rogue crossed his mind.
