THE TRAINING BEGINS

Mia's reluctant agreement made Huntress smile. She knew this was the first time Mia was going to experience the attack of a monster or a mutated beast. An enemy who was hell-bent on killing you can generate a horde of reactions from the host.

" The training will begin at the earliest hour of tomorrow. Until then, let us help you get acquainted with this place."

Huntress led Mia into her room. It was a spacious room with a huge space and decorated interiors. Everything was extremely tidy and prepared for Mia's arrival. It was as if someone was taking care of it.

"It is good to see you again so on mistress." A voice sounded from behind. Mia turned around with alertness, just to see a woman standing in a maid's clothes.

"No need to be aggressive. This is Uma. caretaker of the facility. She is also a top research assistant with her own research lab. She will be taking care of all your needs." Huntress then turned to Uma and said.

"This is her daughter. She will be the new owner of this facility."

"Hello." Uma greeted Mia.

"Hello," Mia politely responded. " So what is she? A servant of yours?" Huntress gave Mia a threatening glance when she heard those words. She never expected to make such a comment on Uma.

"Shut up," Huntress said in a voice that felt aggressive. This was the first time Mia had experienced such an expression from Huntress.

"No need to be so aggressive. The child has experienced a lot of things in a single day and she saw an unfamiliar face. This is the usual response. I should have introduced myself better."

Uma then turned to Mia, extended her hands, and said. " I would like to beg your pardon. I am called Uma. I am the caretaker of this place as well as its founder. I am also the instructor and teacher who taught both your mother and woman beside me."

Mia stood aghast at the woman in front of her. The one she thought of as a servant was someone who had trained both her mother and Huntress. She didn't even look older than the Huntress herself. Just how old she was.

'I know how you're feeling right now. You must be wondering about my age." Uma said with a smile.

Mia was once again surprised and became speechless. How could she read her thoughts?

"That is the first question every time this situation occurs. You see, I am an old lady per se, but I am also a healer. This is just one of the benefits."

"You have to be quite a powerful person to build something like this," Mia responded for the first time.

"She is one of the top 10 hunters in the whole nation, and also the only SS-rank healer in the whole country," Huntress added.

"That's good, huh," Mia said.

"I would consider myself adequate in the category of healers. Anyway, I see that you have decided to return here." She said while looking at Huntress.

"This is my home after all. Also, I have to bring her to inherit the position of her mother."

"Did you know that the position is not passed hereditarily?" Uma asked.

"I know. I brought her here because she was qualified to be brought. She is the only hunter except for him who qualified as a double awakener with SS-rank magic power." Uma's eyes twitched for a second before returning to normal as she looked at Mia.

"She does satisfy the conditions if that is the case. What is your objective for this visit."

"I want you to coronate with her as an owner and teach her," Huntress added.

"It's your job, not mine," Uma said.

"She desires to defeat him. We can't do that without your help." Huntress added.

"By him, you mean the very leader who sits at the top of this natio0n's hunters. You do understand there is a reason he is undefeated right."

"I do. But if she wants to surpass him, she has to surpass the path he took too." Huntress then looked at Mia and spoke. " Nathan once lived here and was taught by Uma. You will be doing the same."

"What if I don't want to teach her?"

"You don't have a choice. It's an order." Huntress said in a serious tone. Uma remained motionless for a second before turning around.

"See you at the earliest hours of tomorrow. Don't dare to be late." She left with those words.

"You better brace yourself, kid. You are about to go through hell."

"She taught Nathan."

"All of the hunters who were ever a part of Kaiser have taught Nathan. He was taught to the very point that he surpassed us all in our own domains. he decided to teach you, which means you have the opportunity to surpass him. You are just too weak to grasp it."

Huntress was about to leave when she turned around once again. " Your parents were the only people who remained unsurpassed by Nathan throughout their whole life. Their official ranking was A-, but the real rankings were kept a secret for the benefit of Kaiser."

"You better live up to their name."

The next day-

Mia awoke in the early hours and rushed to the training room. To her surprise, both Huntress and Uma were already present. From the looks of it, they were sparring before she arrived here. They seemed to have ignored her presence as they went on.

Huntress was an agility-type hunter who also had some mind control powers. She was proficient in using both of them. He immediately rushed toward Uma with great speed. yet Uma remained in her position to move. Just as Huntress was about to make contact, Uma slightly tilted her body sideways and escaped the range of attack.

Mia stood shocked at the scene in front of her.

Huntress maintained her balance as she rushed in once again while trying to activate her mental powers. This time Uma jumped sideways and kicked the floor, which immediately cracked open. A few shards of rock flew into the air, and Uma revolved around her legs to kick one of the shards

It immediately bashed against Huntress's left eye, breaking her momentum, during which Uma had vanished from her position. The next moment she was behind Huntress, on her left side.

Huntress instinctively tried to turn right and defend, when Uma turned her body mid-air and bashed her right abdomen with incredible force, blasting her into the floor.

Huntress's body bumped multiple times on the floor before falling near the edge.

"You are still fighting like a newbie hunter," Uma commented.
