Chapter 2

"Ahhh! That was a great nap!" said an excited and cheerful voice while emerging from the barrel. As the boy emerges from the barrel a stray piece of wood made it through the small opening of the door our hero was standing by hitting him in the head. An impact that surprised him and made him fall back into a bag of fruits.

'Shit that hurts' the young man thought to himself while he rubbed his forehead, but while doing so another fruit fell on his head and landed on his hands. Seeing the strangely patterned fruit laying on his hands the boy's mind though 'Is this a devil fruit?' before his mind came into a screeching halt and focusing only what was in front of him. Swallowing dryly, he gulped glancing at the devil fruit pondering if he should it eat 'Ok calm down, I am currently in an insane world full of pirates, marines and most importantly water. There is a devil fruit in my hands and if I eat I would become an anchor, right!!'.

'Should I eat it or not?' the young man pondered further.

'If I am going to survive this world and make something of myself, I would need the power to do it.' he thought, 'But right now in this world I am powerless and this fruit in front of me would help me achieve it quickly without years and years of inhuman training.'

'I need this devil fruit, even if I don't know what power it has' concluded the young man.

Having come to a decision the man steeled himself moving the fruit closer to his mouth before freezing in sheer terror of its smell. 'Fuck that smells! I don't even want to imagine how it tastes.' he thought coming back to his senses before quickly taking a bite out of it.

As he took a bite of it, he froze in sheer horror before barfing it out, coughing and shuddering because of its sheer taste. 'Why the hell does it to taste this bad?' he thought shivering from what he had subjected his taste buds too. Before he could complain any further he thought to himself ...

'What type of power did this fruit give me?'

But before he could continue he the door to the room opened revealing two familiar figures. And Seeing them both looking directly at him and that his mouth tasted like shit, the only thing that came out of the young man was a sheepish "Uh-oh, Hello there"

Seeing the young man in the room holding an eaten devil fruit gears in Luffy's mind went into high gear as he eagerly grabbed the stranger's shoulders and questions him. "Say, isn't that a devil fruit? Di you eat it? So what power did you get? And who are you?" said Luffy rapidly.

"Calm down," the young man said pointing at myself before proceeding to introduce myself "Let me introduce my self, My name is Robin, just Robin. I am one of the passengers of this ship".

"Nice to meet you Robin, I am Monkey D. Luffy and he is, Coby," said Luffy cheerfully introducing himself and Coby, "I have also eaten a devil fruit, the Gomu Gomu no mi, making me a rubber man. So what power did you get?"

"To be honest with I don't really know as I don't really feel any different," I replied honestly.

But before the two continue our conversation Coby suddenly butted in saying "Hey, What are you guys talking about?".

Hearing Coby's question Luffy replied with a resolute face "Devil fruits are fruits that give people mysterious powers".

"Mysterious powers?" said Coby in confusion to Luffy's answer.

"Let me clarify," Robin said gaining Coby's attention "Devil Fruits are mystical and mysterious fruits found throughout the world that, when consumed, provide the eater a special ability, take for example Luffy here who has eaten the Gomu Gomu no mi. By eating it his body has gained the characteristic of rubber allowing him to stretch and etc."

"Oh, now I understand" replied Coby while hitting his fist on his palm. "You also ate one right? So what power did you get?"

"Like I said I don't know, it could be useless power like silencing everything around me or me turning into an element," I replied.

But before we could continue a loud rumble could be heard from Luffy's general direction.

"Shishishi" Luffy giggled. "Say Coby and Robin" he faced the to both of us "Do you have any food around? I am really hungry."

"Yeah this room is full of fruits, but we are currently in the pantry but if you want something else you should take a look at the other doors" Robin replied.

I didn't take long after Robin's reply before Luffy yelled "Food" before going out of the fruit room and opening the door to diving into the room opening a crate and stuffing his face full of what was inside with Coby following him.

Still in the dark of his powers, Robin decided to loot the belongings of the knocked out, pirate. Doing so rewarded me with one brown leather satchel, one small dagger and a poorly balanced single-edged sword and 3 x 5000 Berry bills. 'Damn this word is unwieldy' Robin said as he swung the sword. Realizing that it will be hard to wield the poorly designed sword that he took a look at the dagger before an idea came up in his head.

'I could sharpen a stick and make it into a makeshift spear' he thought thinking that it was more beginner-friendly. After opting to make a spear, he then used the dagger he found to sharpen the edge of a stick he took from a broom, making a wooden spear. This took him a few minutes of his time to sharpen one end of the stick into a pointy tip. After doing so he decided to join Luffy and Coby into the room.

As he entered the room a loud scream entered my ears.

"I am going to become a Pirate King!!!" screamed Luffy cheerfully.

"Seriously?! That means Luffy-san is a pirate!" replied Coby.

"Yup"

"Your crew?" asked Coby.

"Don't have any, I am recruiting right now"

Seeing a chance to butt into the conversation I voiced "Pirate King huh? Cool dream".

Hearing the sudden voice coming from the door both turned their gaze towards me.

"Hey Robin, nice of you to join us," said Luffy.

"Sorry about that I had to gather some weapons in case we run into the pirates," I replied, but before we could continue any further Coby suddenly shouted.

"Impossible impossible impossible it cannot be done, impossible impossible impossi-" stopping when Luffy bonked him in the head.

"Why'd you hit me?"

"Because you were getting annoying," he replied.

"And you were also being too loud, we don't want to signal to the whole ship that we are here" I added.

"...It's not if it's possible or not." Luffy spoke "It's because I want to. I decided to become the Pirate Queen. And I don't care if I die along the way."

Staring at Luffy in awe at his determination Coby muttered, "D-Do you think I can do it?"

"What?"

"To become a Marine!" He suddenly stood up.

"A Marine?"

"Yeah. I've always wanted to become a Marine as long as I could remember. To be able to go out and capture bad people like Alvida. Can I do it?!" He asked.

"Kid, you won't know if you are able to achieve if you don't at least try" Robin uttered wile putting some food into my new satchel.

"I agree," said, Luffy.

"Ok then, I have decided, I will escape from Alvida and I will come back as a Marine and capture her-" said Coby resolutely before the roof of the room suddenly collapsed.

Seeing the collapse, I reacted quickly and jumped out of harm's way while muttering "Shit". Meanwhile, Luffy grabbed Coby and avoided the debris.

Before I could get my bearings, a voice came of the smoke-filled heap of debris. "Who were you going to capture Coby?".

The smoke soon cleared and showed the ugly visage of Alvida staring at Coby before turning her gaze at me and Luffy. he first stared at Luffy then at me before uttering her disappointment "Neither of you two, is the pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro."

"Coby! Who is the most beautiful woman in all the seas?" Alvida screamed at Coby.

"W-Why that's y-you A-Alvida" replied Coby in fear.

"What are you saying Coby, everybody knows that the most beautiful woman in all the seas is the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, not this talking land whale," Robin said unconsciously muttered shocked in the shamelessness of Alvida "Oops, please ignore that".

Hearing my words Luffy bursts into laughter and Alvida began shaking in rage and swinging her mace at me while shouting "You bastard!".

Seeing the mace coming towards me, I dodge out of the way at took my chance to stab my spear towards Alvida. Unfortunately for me, I underestimated Alvida's agility because she was able to recover from the miss quite quickly taking another swing at me. Having fully committed myself to the stab I was unable to stop and dodge the swing. As this happened instinctively looked at Luffy's direction while feeling tug taking me to where he was standing. In the blink of an eye, much to everyone surprises me and Luffy switched places, and a loud crash reverberated throughout the room followed by a scream from Coby saying "Luffy!".

Surprised at what hap happened Robin blink repeatedly. 'What the hell?' He thought to himself, 'Did I just swap places with Luffy? Is this my devil fruit power?'

'Teleportation, is that my power?' he continued 'No, If it is teleportation then Luffy would still be here, swapping positions maybe?'

But before he could think any further Alvida turned his gaze towards him. "How" muttered Alvida, before her eyes widen "Devil fruit, I've only heard tales of them, I thought they were just a myth?.

"Well, no matter you insulted me, now it is your turn to join your friend!" she screamed while charging towards Robin. Seeing this Robin chose to trust his gut and picked up a piece of wood willing himself to be able to switch himself with the wood. As he does he felt a mark was etched into the wood as if he could always switch place with it. Feeling this he grinned and volleyed the piece of wood over Alvida and swapped places with it. Unaware of the swap that happened, instead of crashing into Robin Alvida instead crashed into the wall.

Seeing that she is startled by the fact that she hit the wall, Robin took the chance in front of him and attack her from the back, but before my spear was able to reach her, I tripped causing the spear to enter a place where the sun never shines. Seeing what just happened everyone's mouths were hanging wide open shocked by what they were witnessing but most shocking of all was the sight of Alvida blushing and repeatedly like she was experiencing pleasure. Seeing the nightmare scene unfolding in front of him, Robin's mind went blank.

This awkward scene didn't last very long, as splashing caused by cannonballs reverberated throughout the area. Hearing the sounds, Robin was immediately able to put out of his stupor and immediately stood himself up before shouting at the rubble housing Luffy,"Luffy I know you are okay, get up.".

Hearing why words everyone looked towards me before moving their gaze to the rubble where Luffy stood dusting off his clothes. Up and about Luffy shouted "We gotta go!" while grabbing Robin and Coby and jumping up to the deck of the ship. There I took out my dagger and slashed off the ropes tying the lifeboats into the ship, dropping it into the sea. With the boat in the water, Luffy then took both of us and jumped down to the boat.

--- 15 min later ---

Robin, Luffy, and Coby are currently drifting off to who knows where after escaping the marines.

"Look like we are off the hook," Robin said relieved.

"That was fun!" said Luffy.

"No, it wasn't" me and Coby shouted in sync.

"Um, Luffy-san" spoke Coby trying to get our attention.

"You said One Piece is your goal, that means you're heading toward the Grand Line, right?" he continued.

"Yup, but before that, I will first need a strong crew," Luffy said before turning his head towards me.

"Speaking of crew, you should join me, Robin." Luffy suggested.

Hearing Luffy's offer, Robin stayed silent for a while before answering "Sure why not, I have nowhere to go anyways."

"Yoshaa, I got my first crewmate!" yelled Luffy hearing my acceptance, "So what is your devil fruit power?".

"My power? I think I can swap places of things that I have "marked" by touching. Although I don't really know if I can swap places of objects I have marked with each other. So it is safe to conclude I have eaten the Swap Swap fruit, maybe?" Robin replied to his question.

"Ohhh, that is a cool power!"

"By the way sorry about earlier, I just instinctively switched myself with you. Luckily you are rubber so that hit from Alvida's mace didn't hurt you so bad" Robin apologized to Luffy.

"Apology accepted" replied Luffy.

"So, with that settled any idea where to go next?" I asked Luffy.

"Dunno, but that Zoro guy Alvida mentioned seems interesting, I am thinking of recruiting him to the crew. Do any of you two know where he is?" replied Luffy.

Hearing the question Coby replied, "Last I heard he was captured by the marines."

"So, he is weak then," said Luffy.

"No, he is not Luffy, people say that he is the best bounty hunter in the East Blue" Robin replied.

"Yeah, he is a terrifying beast" added Coby.

"So, he is strong, huh." said Luffy "Okay then, Robin! we have found our second crewmate!"

"Impossible, last I heard he was being imprisoned by the Marines," shouted Coby.

Hearing him said impossible Luffy bonked his head saying, "You are annoying."

"Alright then, Coby do you know where he is, right now?" Robin asked trying to make it seem like he didn't know where Zoro is at.

"If I remember correctly, I think he is in Shells Town located that way" replied Coby while pointing to considering the position of the sun seemed to be north.

"Alright then it's decided, let's set sail to Shells Town," said Luffy excitedly while pointing to the direction Coby was pointing.

Hearing his words, Robin responded with an "Aye, aye captain" and proceeded in helping Coby steer the ship the right way. And so, our three heroes sailed their way across the sea to Shells Town.
