CHAPTER 7: MY CRUSH

MACY

My son was already in his bedroom. We had a nice dinner with my parents. They come to our house for dinner every Wednesdays as our new traditional set up since we transferred to our new home.

I lay down in my bed after a quick shower. My mind bothered after I met him.

Yeah, my crush when I was here. The brother of my best friend. I was young then, I never tell Shay about how I felt about him. I acted like nothing in front of him.

Acted like he was just a boy as anybody else. But the truth was, I was totally into him. I know that time Shane would never like someone younger. I know his reputation in school and he loves hooking up nothing serious.

Two years younger, of course, he will not mind to look at me seriously even as her sister's best friend. I was contented looking at him from a distance. I even was peeking at me when he was near in their house or in school secretly.

I heavily sighed, like things will not going to be easy. Our paths were crossed already and I got scared for it. Not that terrifying scared but just a little scared what is going to happen to us.

I know that this will going to happen but I did not foresee it will be this soon. The crush I felt when I was younger was not just infatuation anymore.

I pictured out his face again when I saw him this afternoon. He changed so much. His face became more handsome and his body was beautiful back then.

However, it was more beautiful now as he matures. He was even more appealing than before.

At first, I cannot believe that he was there in my bakeshop and even more unbelievable that he married and had a daughter. Just like me had a son. But the difference between us. I was never been married and now he is a widow.

He must love his wife that they even married. The first time he told me about marriage and a daughter. I felt something pinning in my heart. Having a daughter was okay.

But he, being someone else in his arms was something.

When he asked me my number my heart came alive, absolutely alive. He did not say about us. But I was delightful knowing that he wants to keep in touch with me again. I will not predict the future but I am okay. If things will come up into good one.

Speaking of him, the sound of my ringtone that I assigned to Shane rings. And his name appears as I grabbed it from my nightstand.

I took a deep breath before I answered him.

"Hello!" I said in calm. I do not want him to sense that I was excited.

We talked for a while until he invited me out for a coffee. I said yes without hesitant. I need a little fun right now.

It has been a while since I last hang out with opposite sex. I still have life, you know.

I changed my outfit with a simple one since it was just for coffee. I did not put make-up to impress just powder and lipstick.

I contacted my trusted staff to watch for my son for a moment.

When I went down Shane was already there parked in front the bakeshop.

"Hi," I greeted him with a smile.

"You live upstairs?" He asked with surprise in his face. "I thought you live somewhere."

"Yes, I live upstairs with my son. I know I still want to have a house not like this. But for now, this is better for us." I murmured. "Maybe someday, we will move to a real house with garden, yard, porch, swimming pool." I said smiling thinking about a house with kids and husband. "So, where we are going now?"

"I thinking we should grab a coffee first, my treat." He insists.

"Okay, I will buy bread for us then it's on me, okay." I offered and he nodded. "What do you like to have?"

"I do not like too sweet but I love your Ham and Cheese and Get Cheesy the most." He said biting his lower lips. "What about you? What will I get you for drinks?"

"Mocha Espresso for me please." I spoke.

"Okay then, meet you in a bit." He left me as we go on separate ways. I did not imagine myself being with him like this. It was not the same as before.

After 15 minutes, I saw him out from the coffee shop with handy hands. He is really handsome no matter what he wears. He was smiling at me.

"Are you ready for a ride?" He said giving me my coffee. He opened the passenger's door for me.

"Thank you" I said and he closed the door then walked around.

"It is not far the place we could hang out tonight." Shane told me as he sat on the driver's side. I am curious as well.

"I guess I will not ask where and wait for it." I said with excitement.

He smirked while driving off where he is taking me. I know it was our first time hanging out we never hang out before. We did only gather together with friends and with his family in their beach house but not like this alone with plan.

Like I said, we were not in the same level that we could hang out often. He had different path, so did I. Besides, he keeps teasing me when we were in high school.

I smiled, thinking about that time in Shayla's birthday brought me back in time. It has been years since it happened. It was one of my memorable one.

I never knew that was the beginning of what it was for me. I never knew that I would be what I am now.

I decide to stop thinking about it for now. I let it go where supposed to lead me. But hoping for a positive result.
