Chapter 6

Four weeks has passed and there are many things had changed. Including Amaya's workplace.

She begged to Sarah Wan to transfer her onto other clubhouse that Sarah's parent own. She didn't wish for anything that will cause such troubles.

She chose to stay away from him. Away from the man she love. She doesn't deserve someone like him. Rich, handsome and popular all over the world.

He deserves someone better and for sure Seb Jackson will never love her back since she is a prostitute.

Dirty. Call girl. Not pure nor virgin. Amaya believed that all of these things will get every man disappointed and disgusted.

Amaya shook her head, trying to forget Seb Jackson. She must not think of him right now, she should pray, she must pray.

Her mother needs her prayer. Currently Emma Robinson is in the operating room. Fighting and wanting to extend her live in the earth.

"Excuse me! Ah ok, Nurse do you have any update about my mother's operation?" Amaya Jackson asked the Nurse who helped her mother's operation.

"Sorry Ma'am but I cannot tell you about the operation. Just wait here outside and Dr. Reyes will explain it you." The Nurse explained and hurriedly walk towards to the Nurse section.

Amaya closed her eyes because of frustration. She haven't sleep for almost 24 hours. She's been waiting outside with different body movements. Sitting with trembling knees and sometimes she would walk back and forth outside of the operating room.

She's thinking about the half million pesos bill. Amaya doesn't know where to get and can borrow money.

"Hey Amaya!" Sarah Wan called her. She put the paper bags on the floor and caress her shoulder.

"Sarah, I don't know how I can repay my debts especially you. I don't know where I can get the remaining balance." Amaya burst into tears. She lean on Sarah's shoulder while looking at the people passing by.

"Don't bother about that Aya. I'm not obligating you to pay me as soon as possible." Sarah answered with pity in her eyes. "But you told me that someone deposited 500, 000 in your account. Maybe Seb Jackson paid you for your service that midnight in his car." Sarah added, thinking about the current situation.

"I was drank that night, Sarah. I don't know what to do, I am afraid and scared. I gave him my body and soul because of my emotions. But it's hard to think that he will pay me half million pesos just for sex. He only see me as prostitute Sarah and that's hurt." Amaya wipe her tears and lowering her head, looking at her feet.

"By any chance, do you love him Aya?" Sarah asked frankly, looking at her sincerely.

Amaya cannot answer the question. It is too deep to think of, it is hard to be true because she know that they're not meant for each other.

Amaya wiped her tears using her hand. She laughed sarcastically, stood up and look at the ceiling.

"No! He's not for me and that's the forsooth, Sarah." Amaya look at Sarah confidently. But her heart inside wants to speak the truth but for sure Sarah Wan will mess up and act like a mad mama.

"Staying away from him is not the panacea, Aya. You don't have to hide it from me. I knew you Amaya Robinson." Sarah Wan uttered. Looking at the same direction as her.

"I chose not to love again Sarah. This time I'll be more cautious and strong."  Amaya added and touches the small window of the door to the operating room.

"But you guys made love that night! How can you be so sure that it is safe? That you will not get pregnant?" Sarah exclaimed because of frustration. She sighed out of nowhere.

It's a big obstacle, for sure.

"We used condom. So, don't bother thinking about that thing. I know the possible consequences of my actions." Amaya lied.

Sarah remains silent. She waits Amaya to tell her the truth but Amaya Robinson sitted on the steel chairs back.

"I know you are hiding things up, but please remember Aya that you can count on me always. Don't you forget that." Sarah reminds her that she will stay by her side no matter what.

Amaya didn't say any single word but rather she hugs Sarah tightly. It was the thing she needs the most right now.

"Maraming Salamat!" Amaya whispered it.

They both laugh after a dramatic conversation. Sarah Wan covered her mouth when she noticed the signage posted on the door of the operating room.

"It's your fault, Aya!" Sarah said, lowering her head.

"Not my fault." Amaya answered sarcastically. Sarah Wan was about to bet her ass up but Dr. Reyes came out from the OR.

Amaya felt nervous. Her hands is sweating too and Sarah is standing beside her. Waiting for the result.

"Aya, I'll be honest to you." Dr. Reyes said.

"Yes Doc. What it is?" Amaya asked. Trying to be calm despite of the situation.

"The operation went successful. However, your mother will be in a coma for about two to three months." Dr. Reyes explained with a heavy eyes.

"What?! I mean, how did it happen Doc?" Amaya starled of what she heard. She couldn't  bear seeing her mother suffer that much.

"During the transplant, she was suffered a mild stroke. It was a rare condition indeed, but we tried our best to save her. She's in a stable condition now Aya, let's just wait for her fast recovery." Dr. Reyes smiled.

"Thank you so much Doc.!" Amaya bowed. Showing her respect for the people who saved her mother.

"Your mother will be transferred to the private room now. We will just update you. We're going." Dr. Reyes leave. Tired but with a smile on her face. It would be a great feeling knowing that they saved a life today.

It's a great achievement, indeed.

Amaya smiled but she's not happy totally, knowing that her mother will be at a coma.

"Aya, I know Tita Emma will recover from this. Sarah Wan comforted her.

Amaya nodded and fetch her bag from the chair.

"Let's go." Amaya said. Leaving the operating room and sighed.

**

"Amaya, look!" Sarah Wan exclaimed. She puts down the apple and the knife she's holding.

"Corona Virus is the main topic now amongst the world! Goodness, please help us!" Sarah said, looking above.

"I know it. Thanks to Him that we're not yet affected by the virus. Let's pray for my mother and for all the people around the world." Amaya said, staring at her mom sleeping peacefully.

Sarah continued peeling out the apple. It's lunch time but they're not yet eating.

"Aya, I'm hungry! Let's eat." Sarah told her touching her stomach.

"Go on. I will just go to the grocery store to buy food for supper. Stay here and look after my mom, please Sarah." Amaya pleaded and smiled.

Sarah nodded and busy watching Korean drama on her phone.

Amaya shrugged her shoulders and fetch her purse from the side table. She look back at her mom sleeping peacefully and went out from the private ward.
