I hadn't ever drank or seen most of what they had in their tent. Although I was considered the leaders daughter there was a lot that of tribes that had more influence and power and wealth because of the herd they followed and where the herd took them. This could bring tribes to areas that had more gold and jewels and precious metals and other materials that could be found.
They knew they held more baring then even the leader in my tribe. They all have more money and resources making them even as just being kids and not having a leader status more powerful then any person in my tribe. I was also the only who could even put up a fight against them since I'm also a hybrid but I can't beat an entire tribe of hybrids and once i would become our numbered I would easily lose.
I believe that's the real reasoning behind why the leaders let me leave without guards today and didn't go off last night. They knew if they started something they would lose. It also meant they would allow me to be going out until they could find a real reason that other tribe leaders would back them on when it came to saying no to them.
We had been sitting in the shade of the tent for a while before more people really started to show up. As Thee crowd grew so did the noises, there was a little music every now and then as well.
They had a few people playing drubs and some other instruments. They would play for a few minutes every hour or so, because they would be playing the rest of tonight and right now there was a lot going on so they weren't needed. Liz had given me a glass and poorer some of the pink-ish wine into it . She said it was sweeter than red wine and was brewed with strawberries which you can taste in the flavor and is why it was pink color.
For me someone who hadn't ever drank. I took her word for it. I also knew how it made the adults start to react when they were drinking. They didn't function as well and did more risky and stupid things. There was times they wouldn't remember what they had done the night before at all when they woke up and needed me or tiger to fill them in. I figured I needed to be more careful then that, there were so many people that were all going to be in such close proximity to each other and almost all of us had different beliefs. There was bound to be a few disagreements and to have some fights break out, along with law to be broke some would get away with whatever they did today without anybody even knowing, while other wouldn't be so sneaky or lucky. There were a few alcoholic beverages that would be open to masses such as beer, and people not thinking thing through and having different views just wasn't going to be the best mix for everyone. Although we were all going to try and get along and set differences aside the best we could for the celebration.
We went out of the tent for a little to get food but for the most part it was to hot and crowded to be out with everyone, so we all decided to wait until night to really go out and join everyone in celebrating the start of spring. The entire time in the tent I never once meant the leader of their tribe though, it was a little weird, but I also knew I couldn't ask about it since it might be a more sensitive subject.
Night fall seemed to come quickly. Three large fires were lit around the area and the extra dyes from the makeup were all thrown in as tradition. Corey stayed by my side the entire time we were out of the tent. He kept a close eye on both me and Liz, Sam drank a little too much and had fallen asleep in the tent. She left and went back to the tent shortly after we threw the dye in. Honestly I had drank more than I should of and wasn't in the best state because of it.
The noise and music was too much, it was giving me a headache and I was starting to feel like everything was spinning so I walked away. I didn't wait for Corey or even try to pull him with me. I didn't care that I was alone. I left to go somewhere quieter and darker where I could sit and recollect myself.
I knew I shouldn't of done it but at the time I just didn't care. I wasn't worried about anything, I haven't even thought I through. I wasn't really sure where I was going, let alone what direction I was walking or how I couldn't really walk a straight line.
I hadn't notice anything really around me. I just knew the sound had lessened and it was darker so I sat down against a tree.
I started to hear noises shortly afterwards. It wasn't scary noises from the Forrest but that of men. I could hear them laughing, and walking. They seemed to be getting closer and closer to where I was. I was so out of it I didn't even see them until they were in front of me, even then I couldn't make any of them out clearly. I couldn't hear what they were saying either, all I heard were sounds.
I felt one of them grab me and start to pull me. I let out a small scream, but he quickly put his hand over my mouth. I didn't really understand what was happening. I just felt them around me eyes on me. His hands touching my skin and the cold ground. I felt tears running down my face, I didn't really understand why I was crying but I was confused by everything happening around me and a part of me was scared. I felt him as he lifted and his hands and body left mine.
I knew his touch wasn't the same as the way I had felt when Corey and I had been against each other the previous night. I didn't feel drawn to whoever this man was and I wanted him to get off me but I couldn't speak or push him away. It was as if my body was paralyzed and all I could do was lay there.
I heard more loud noises and yelling after his body left mine. My already blurred vision had become even worse because of my tears and I couldn't make out anything that was going on anymore. That's when I started to try to move and I felt a sharp pain shoot through right arm. I moved my other arm to it and felt a warm liquid. It was the first time I had felt my arm as I tried to think about what it could be, I had realized I had stopped feeling my arm after he trapped me and pulled me to the ground.
Then all the sounds stopped. I felt someone come over and pick me up. This person was holding me close to their body and they felt warm. I felt safe and though I was in pain and was still crying. I looked up and saw the faint glow of red eyes looking forward as the person continued to walk and carry me. I move me body a little pushing up against the person carrying me, as my left arm held my right on my chest. I put my head against the person and between the warmth, motion and my wine and every other emotion I was feeling. I felt safe and at peace in this persons arms, which only made me claimer. I also didn't feel any pain in my arm anymore. I looked back down at my arm and saw red, but I also saw a bracelet of flowers. It hadn't been there before. The flowers were red and orange. I had a faint memory of seeing some like it before and wearing them once upon a time. It was enough that it aloud me to fall asleep.
I fell asleep in a strangers arms, but this person didn't feel like a stranger. This person felt finials like we had a past and knew each other, like we had a long history. I wasn't worried as far as I was concerned and aware, but I had no clue what this person wanted from me or where they were taking me or why. I didn't know anything that was going on though really, I wasn't in the right state of mind or body. I was so out of it that I couldn't even call upon my own abilities to try and protect myself. I didn't know what had happened or what I would wake up to but it didn't matter. I truly wasn't worried which I'm sure was the influence of the wine and the beer I had drank while at the celebration. All I knew it everything was dark.
In my sleep I started to dream. Everything was cold and black, but in the distance there was a small light that felt like it was pulling me towards it. I was drawn to it like a moth to the fire, so I did what any responsible thing to do when your in the dark and you cold is. I ran towards the light, I didn't really know if I would make it there or what it was, but I ran. The closer I was getting the warmer and warmer I felt. The light also got bigger and brighter, but before I could reach it. I started to fall. I just kept falling and watching the warmth slip away as light got smaller as I was getting farther away. The cold took over my body as the darkness seemed to wrap itself around me and drag me farther and farther down.
