Destroying Evidence (part II)

I have to abuse my indarra to boost my speed along the way. I walk so as not to leave any information about myself in any vehicle, so that I am not seen by anyone. It is a rainy night. Therefore there is no danger of anyone seeing an unidentified object running at inhuman speed.

I do not take long to reach my destiny. The place is less than an abandoned cabin. A wooden house perishing in the rain, about to fall at the mercy of the wind at any moment. I touch the door and it openeth effortlessly.

The inside is dark and empty. Hard to believe there is anyone in. I cannot feel anyone for the moment. After all, feeling through the ductu only worketh among paranormal beings, and as far as my knowledge extends, Alexander Sprohic is an ordinary human.

I find such individual squatting, covered by a piece of sweatshirt larger than his figure, leaning against the wall. He seemeth out of his mind enough. Junkie? Exhausted? Sick? Cold? I do not know... But it doth not matter to me.

He noticeth me and jumpeth back, like he is not expecting me. Then he seemeth to realize who I am, or who he believeth I am: the one responsible for the deal he set up with the man on the recording.

"It is I" I lie. Mostly to avoid having to carry him home. I plan to guide him out of the place so that he will not be found by the police, and only then make sure that his mouth doth not open anymore. If I do it now, I run the risk of the police arriving right on time."

"Where is it...? You... Did you brought the stuff?"

Deluxes... Do they do that to a person? The man in front of me hath less than mere idea of what is going on. He pronounceth his words in a blurry and confused way.

"It is in the car! Come!"

"I am not paying nothing... Until not receive... I am..."

"That is fine. Come!"

I turn my back and start guiding him out, hoping he followeth me. What a surprise when I feel the morbid wind from the ductu of two paranormal beings, coming from less than eighty feet away. They come in my exact direction and that room is cornered. There is no way to prevent them from seeing me there.

The addict is still thrown to the wall.

I go back inside the room and try to mix my figure in the dark, looking for an opportunity. Maybe they just see who they are looking for and forget to examine the rest of the place? My only disguise is the color of my skin and of my garment. I completely hide my presence with the strictest secrecy.

The first paranormal being to enter is short and well dressed. Weareth a jacket and social clothing. Such one pointeth a gun at his target, squatting in the moonlight. His partner is a girl with her hair up, wearing thick glasses and moderate formal clothes.

"Alexander Sprohic? Hands up! You are..."

"You... You... Do you are the police? Help... They came to get me!" The junkie pointeth his finger in my direction.

Outrageous! Alexander Sprohic understandeth my intention! Possibly when he set up the meeting, the bearer of the main voice on the recording had formulated a code of conduct which I must have not followed, making clear the falsity in my actions.

Now it is too late for any excuse. The police officers in front of me understand how dangerous a paranormal being can be thus they act violently without warning. All I can do is fight for my goal.

The short boy fireth two shots at me as he followeth me with his gun. But I use my agility and my diagonal to dodge the projectiles. The officer no longer wasteth free shots after those two, like a good connoisseur. A bad connoisseur would continue pursuing me with such a strategy hoping lady luck would present him with the happiness of a hit, but that boy quickly realizeth I am too well versed in detouring for letting such a coincidence happen.

"What a foolish treatment!" I Contempt "Is it because I'm black?"

As an attempt to gain initiative, I jump towards the agent using my speed. The basis for such an attitude is that I would position myself between him and the girl, who is directly behind his body, thus making it impossible for her to take any measure of help. This way I can compete with the agent in a one-on-one fight, at least for brief moment.

The agent shouteth at his partner amidst the confusion:

"Emma! Get Sprohic and take him to the car!" He planneth to deal with me on his own? That iss what it looketh like. Or at least he intendeth to distract me as he leaveth Alexander Sprohic safe. Unfortunately, I cannot let him beat me neither capture my target.

However, it is no easy task to let go of his grip. I find myself without the mobility of my both arms because as soon as I got close he grabbed me with a memorized move. Little by little the agent taketh small steps towards the wall in order to leave me at a positional disadvantage.

To keep him from trapping me in the wall, I headbutt him off unexpectedly. I am taller, my neck is longer, thus I take advantage of such also adding the speed of the indarra to the attack, so that it is not possible for him to avoid it.

The cop's body jumpeth back on impact as I release him. I can notice from the shadow a movement behind me. It's Alexander Sprohic getting up, preparing to take action. Not that any blow he throweth at me could have any effect. He still does not know he dealeth with paranormal beings. The ineffectiveness of his predisposition becometh even more evident when he staggereth and falleth back on his feet under the effect of the Deluxe.

The young agent in front of me quickly recovereth, putting himself in a fighting pose, now expressing himself more cautiously. Behind me, the young lady picketh up Alexander Sprohic and goeth around the room at superhuman speed, probably carrying him on her back. I am not able to see it well.

Between fighting the young man and getting out of the bleakness to chase his partner, I quickly realize the second option is the most reasonable. My goal is only silencing Alexander Sprohic, no matter what the means, and not to beat two armed SAD agents.

I vertiginously outline the room, leaving the young agent in the middle, just as his partner did, and steer myself from her ductu, aiming to take the addict off her back.

I soon find her in front of an empty police car. She is about to put Alexander Sprohic on the back seat. Meanwhile, the car door is still not open. It is my chance.

"Emma! Look out!" Screams the young policeman as he arriveth late, from inside the wooden house.

The young agent is still more than a hundred feet away, below the concrete ladder leading to the interior of the house, while the girl and I meet each other in front of the car. It is my only chance to take the junkie and get him away from there. Before I try anything she throweth her body against me and holdeth me, again immobilizing the movements of my arms. Is that move a rule of police conduct against paranormal beings? Because it is annoyingly effective.

I swing my body as hard as I can trying to let go.

"Sprohic! Get in!" Yelleth the girl at the junkie. However, the addict doth not listen to her and decideth to run staggeringly in the middle of the street, trying to escape from the whole situation.

"Goddamn it!" She declareth as Sprohic getteth out of the car. Not because she fearwth she will lose sight of him; Alexander Sprohic is human, he cannot compete with the speed of a paranormal being running on foot, but the fact that he left on his own maketh it much easier for me to capture him than if he were inside the police car. In other words, she knoweth his attitude came in my favor.

I pretend to physically lose to her for a moment, even letting her hit me with her knees while holding my shoulders. Her partner believeth in my bluff and decideth to go after Alexander Sprohic, letting her take care of me. I thank him for acting in such a way. Had he decided to help his partner capture me, they would probably have not only Sprohic, but also Shinobi at the station tonight.

As soon as the young agent stepeth out of the car to chase the junkie, his partner falls for the poison from my iron apparatus, which I always carry in my pocket, now stuck in her leg. Although she had immobilized my arms, while she was holding me and hitting me I managed to stick it on the surface of her flesh by throwing him with the tip of my fingers, whose movements were not locked. The effect was quick, so I figured it would be done as soon as the young agent saw her and thought it was all right while she was hitting me. And the calculation worked as anticipated.

I slowly release her body and it falleth to the ground, so I start chasing the younger agent. He noticeth me just behind him for a moment, while he is almost on the front block, a few meters from the addict one, who without his senses, runneth slowly and staggerth in the most random of directions.

The officer reacheth for the junkie, but I extend the handle of Shoushiryu, my katana - which was hidden under my overcoat all the time - and she endeth up knocking the officer down on the ground, since he cannot slow down as he uses the indarra on his legs.

I take Alexander Sprohic in my hands and keep running until I lose sight of the two police partners. It was all a little stunned, but the plan ended up happening as expected. My speed exceeds forty miles per hour, which is enough to lose two paranormal agents, since they will take a long time to get up from where they were pushed down.

Not much until I reach the Pinnacle Hotel. My lady strangely awaiteth at the door at the reception. As soon as she seeth me, she openneth in a discreet smile.

"This is no place for thou to wait, m'lady."

"Why, because I am a freak and shouldn't show my wings in public?"

"I'm slow to answer her as melifluous as I would like, but she taketh the exact words out of my mouth."

"No answer? Let it be then... Bring him in, quick."

We tie Alexander Sprohic to a chair. He is almost unconscious because of his addiction.

"You guys... You're gonna do what? Who sent you? Verde..." He mumbleth other things between cops and names of drug dealers we know of.

My lady maketh him fall unconscious with a blast of her intense ductu.

"Shut up!" She says to the fainted body, "Ok. One more thing solved.."

"We must agree that was very dangerous..."

She dismisseth me with her typical condescending gesture

"I know, I know... You're all reason, aren't you? But didn't you know? The secret to reaping the most fruitful pleasure is to live dangerously."

"The author of such a dictum died of mental illness, ma'am... Now what? Should we silence him definitively?" Clearly I'm referring to the fainted drug addict who more than boldly occupieth my lady's chair at the moment.

"No rush. I still have to do something first." She getteth close to his body and starts analyzing him in a way I don't understand. Is she using a finesse? Any unknown biological knowledge?

"Something I can help on?"

"Not exactly... We're done for the day. It's night after all. I'd rather stay up at night, but I had to get used to living during day even though I'm a vampire because of the boring human life I have to pretend to live..." My lady sigheth lightly, "Speaking of night and day..."

"I imagine my lady is going to bring up the werewolf matter again?" I look out the window, "In fact, now that I stop to think today really is the dawn of a full moon."

"Well, aren't we nosy... You, of all people interrupting me, Shinobi?"

"A thousand times pardon, ma'am! It's just that..."

"Just kidding, my baby... As you said yourself, that's exactly what I'm bringin up," she dumpeth the unconscious body of the inmate's brother responsible for the jewelry store robbery and walketh towards the balcony. I'm trying to guess her intentions once more:

"I suppose now there is the time to do something about it and you've changed your mind?"

"Exactly, Shinobi. I was just going to advise you to research something about it. After all..." She walketh past me and leaneth over the low wall of the balcony, "it's to our advantage that there's a werewolf attacking people out there. I've been thinking about what you said... That it could be that Verde's off the police radar because Sanford's death could be classified as strange now that Sprohic's been arrested..."

Then my lady doeth listeneth to my suggestions...

"I still calculate that Verde will be held responsible for both acts, but if by any chance he isn't... It would be nice to have a plan B."

"Plan B?"

"Of course! And that would be our werewolf friend! Who better than a werewolf to kill people with bites?"

"In other words... I suposse thou dost not want me to do anything but find out what the werewolf is about and once the truth is out, refrain from doing anything about it, because this could be an important scapegoat if the SAD ever comes any closer to the truth about thine... Thine..."

"...My hunger attacks! That's exactly it, Shinobi!"

"I was not gonna say that in those words..."

"Anyway, we've done enough for today. Let's go to sleep and you can start tomorrow, what do you think?"

"I wholeheartedly agree, m'lady."

"Then come, let's sleep." She maketh a gesture and leaveth Alexander Sprohic tied unconscious in her chair as she walketh inside the hotel again. I follow in her footsteps.
