The rabbit could feel its master's mood damping by the second and quickly tried to make itself as cute and appealing as possible. It's big black eyes stared up at her like she was the moon in the sky, and its tiny fluff ball tail wiggled playfully. Now was it's chance to change the subject for the better.
"Master, did you miss me? I missed you!"
Mariella looked down at her rabbit curiously.
"I honestly forgot about you pretty fast. You must not have much of a presence."
"Master!"
Seeing her spirt animal flustered made her smile abit. Who knew she would find it so fun to tease the little fur ball.
"There's no time for this. I intend to find the Apostate that lives somewhere in this forest. Follow me if you want, but don't slow me down." Her eyes held a certain coldness to them that made the rabbit's skin twitch under the pressure.
She had a mission to complete, and she would be damned if she let anything get in her way. Therefore, she simply ignored the rabbit as it whined closely behind her . No matter how it wined, or complained, she kept her steps swift and steady. Ignoring it almost completely.
"Master~ I'm just worried about your safety!~" it was like a whiny child with a very sing-songy voice that carried annoyingly through one ear out the next.
"Maaaster please don't ignore mee~"
[Damn rabbit, can't you take a hint? Just shush up allready.]
She fastened her pace, driving her body through the forest and directly toward the unknown force she was feeling, pulling her towards it like a gravitational pull.
After about four hours of walking, somthing the rabbit said caught her attention.
"We're so far into the forest, yet we have yet to encounter a single beast for awhile now.." Its eyes darted around the darkness, scanning it for any signs of life.
Marella stopped in her tracks to look around as well. Now that she thought about it.. It has been unnervingly quiet for awhile now. When did those beasts stop following her? It was strange to her that she didn't notice before now.
At the beginning of the forest there were plenty of smaller beasts scurrying around making noise, and one could still hear birds chirping in the trees. But now, there was nothing. Not even the sound of wind blowing through the tree's. Just complete and utter silence.
This had to be a bad omen.
