"Demon or angel?" asked my friend, Angelica Roberts.
I smirked and said, "How about both?"
Angelica shook her head and said, "No. One or the other. Pick one!" I snarled, narrowing my currently sapphire blue eyes.
I sigh and say "Angel for now, I guess." Angelica jumps up and down, squealing. "STOP SQUEALING BEFORE I RIP OUT YOUR VOICE BOX!" I yelled, my eyes turning blood red. Angelica stops squealing as my eyes return to sapphire blue. "Thank you and now my answer is demon." I said, smirking yet again.
"Awww! Whyy?" Angelica whined.
I sighed and said, "Because I hate it when you squeal! It makes me feel like my ears are bleeding." My eyes flash blood red for a split second. I take a deep calming breath and then exhale. I look Angelica in the eyes and when I do, I see and smell pure fear. She then starts to back away from me. I take a step forward and before she can run, I grab her arm, pulling her towards me. I whisper into her ear, "You didn't see anything, it was just a trick of the light. All you saw was the sun shining on me causing you to see something horrifying." Angelica's emerald green eyes go dull for ten seconds before they brighten up again. I let go of her and ask, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Angelica answered looking me in the eyes, luckily my eyes had just returned to their natural angelic color of sapphire blue.
I smile, "I'm just glad you're alright. Scared me shitless for a minute there."
"Why?" Angelica asks, tilting her head a little to the left. The reason she tilts her head to the left is because she's left handed and she thinks she's the child of God. Pfft, as if. No mere mortal can fall in love with God and live, plus demons are MUCH better than that measly little God of hers. I thought.
"You were looking at me as if you saw the Devil himself." I said, trying to keep my secret about being a Demon-Angel hybrid safe.
"Oh? Sorry, I don't know what got me so scared." Angelica said, smiling that apologetic smile of hers. I smile back, it's a fake smile of course but she doesn't know that because of how good I am at acting.
"It's quite alright, my dear friend. No need to worry, I'm positively used to getting those sorts of looks, at least in my old hometown." I said sweetly.
"Okay!" Angelica said and hugged me. I snarled quietly but reluctantly hugged back.
"Alright, that's enough hugging for now…" I said, pushing her off me with more strength than I meant to. "Shit!" I cursed as Angelica fell right onto her back. "Angelica, I'm so, so sorry! I don't know my own strength sometimes! Here, let me help you up!" I say, generically sorry for my super strength. I hold out my hand and Angelica takes it, just as I pull her up, my younger sister, Luna, bumps into me on accident, knocking both me and Angelica over. I immediately jump up and snarl at Luna, "Watch where you're going little sister!" My eyes are now blood red and I lose control of my inner demon. Just when I thought I had gained full control of my demon side, I go and lose it. I thought with a low growl.
"S-sorry sis, I d-didn't mean to b-but-. It's Liam he's trying to prank me!" Luna stuttered.
I growl louder and yell, "LIAM GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE BEFORE I RIP YOUR GUTS OUT!"
Liam walks up to me and says in that silky voice of his, "Aww you're no fun little sister. Always threatening me while we're in a public building, and a school at that."
I snarl, "Shut up Liam, no one likes a prankster." I then help Angelica up again after calming down and making sure my eyes are sapphire blue again.
"Dayumn! Your brother is hot as hell." Angelica comments, seeing my brother for the first time.
"Why thank you Angelica!" Liam says, bowing down like the gentleman he is when he's around my friends.
"Ick. Stop talking about Liam's hotness before I tear him to shreds." I snarled, trying so very hard to stay calm and be the angel Angelica thinks I am. The thing is, I'm no angel, I'm a demon at heart. My soul and body belong only to Hell. Angelica, who rarely ever sees me angry shuts up immediately.
"What? Scared of some puny weakling girl?" Liam says, taunting me, daring me to release my inner demon.
"C-Chara is n-not w-weak!" Angelica stutters, I flash her a quick grateful smile before continuing to glare at Liam.
"Oh come on, my little sister can't even fight let alone protect s-" I lunge at Liam, cutting him off. My eyes are blood red and my long black nails are as sharp as daggers. I claw at Liam's face, letting my anger take over.
"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT ME!" I yell. I then release my dragon, roaring as loud as my dragon lungs will allow. I'm not even in my full dragon form yet and I'm already terrifying Angelica and even Liam. "NEVER PISS OFF THE ELDEST DAUGHTER OF SATAN!" I screamed at Liam, fully succumbing to my dragon form. My pitch black scales reflected the electric lights of the high school, luckily I froze time before I shifted into my dragon form so no one will see me except Angelica, Luna, and Liam.
"I-I- but h-how're?" Liam stuttered, still stuck on the fact that I'm the eldest daughter of Satan.
"I'm older than you think. I am one billion two hundred forty five million two hundred twenty two years old." I stated in perfect english despite the fact that I shouldn't be able to even speak in a human language while in my dragon form.
"C-Chara?!?" Angelica stutters, terrified for her own life. I can smell her fear, it's not as strong as Liam's though. Luna just smiles, she was the first one to know about my true heritage.
I look over my scaly back and look directly at Angelica, my tail is wrapped in a loose circle around her. "What?" I ask, generally curious about why she is so scared of me and then I remember exactly why. "Yes, I am truly the devil's daughter, but not in this lifetime, but then again I will always remain his daughter no matter how many times I die, no matter how many times I come back to this world. Angelica, my demon is so much stronger than my weak, puny angel. I am truly both a demon and an angel in this lifetime. My mother is an angel and my father is a demon. Liam and Luna are demons and angels as well, I just happen to be more demon than angel. I've tried and tried to be the angel you thought I was but it was just too hard for me to stay so innocent whenever you were near. Liam brings out the worst in me when he taunts me, telling me that I'm weak when really he's the weak one. Being the devil's daughter has made me stronger, living for over one billion years made me stronger. You see, Angelica, I can't be the angel you think I am, I am a demon at heart and always will be. You can't change that about me, no one can." I explained, shifting back to my human form, except this time, my black feathered demon wings are visible, and they're folded against my back.
"Chara... " Angelica cries and I hug her, I can't help but be nice to the poor girl.
"Shhh… It's okay. There's no need to cry. I know that you thought that I was truly good but I'm not." I whisper, soothingly. I look Angelica in the eyes, my eyes are watering and I say, "I've taken more lives than lives saved. I'm sorry that you had to learn the truth about me like this…"
Angelica wipes away my tears, which started to fall and says, "It's alright, I've seen how riled up you get during PE, you run faster than everyone else on the track team, and you're super smart, you're passing all your classes despite the fact that you're almost never in class except for PE. Plus I can always find you in the school library reading a book, whether it's about dragons, unicorns, elves, dwarves, or anything magical, you always have a fantasy book with you at all times. I never see you without one. Why is that?"
I smile, "That's because I love the way you humans think about the world of magic hidden around you. Demons and Angels go to school with humans because of our curiosity about them. We are just generally curious, we never try to hurt humans unless it's in self defense or if we're the ones being harmed first. The reasons we hide is because of scientists and their labs. I do not want to be experimented on!" I said, letting Angelica see my fear for needles.
"Don't worry, I won't let that happen." Angelica says, "I will keep you three from being lab rats, I promise it on my life."
Just then, time starts up again, I cast an illusion around me to hide the demon wings from everyone else except Luna, Liam, and Angelica.
The principal runs over, panting, and says,"I heard yelling, what's going on here? Why aren't you four in class?"
I roll my eyes, which are now sapphire blue. "Because we're in study hall right now, that and I'm passing all my classes." I lie, we aren't really in study hall, but I am, however, passing all my classes.
The principal tilts her head and says, "Alright but you should still be in a classroom despite being in study hall. Go now!" Just then the bell signaling the end of the school day rings.
I laugh, "Peace out!" I then grab Angelica's and Luna's hands and drag 'em outside, Liam follows. We then bump into Lindy.
"Little sister, watch where you're going." Lindy snaps, narrowing her gray eyes at me. Lindy got her eye color from our grandfather on Louis' side. Louis is my dad, at least in this lifetime he is.
I growl, narrowing my now wolf yellow eyes. "You can't tell me what the fuck to do, okay? You are not my mother or my father!" I snarl.
Lindy laughs and says, "I'm your older sister, so you will listen t-"
I interrupt her with my god arc, it's in its knife form right now. "Actually you're not, being the daughter of Satan gives me the advantage of being reborn over and over again, so try me bitch."
"Ha, you're lying. Satan is not your father." Lindy says, smirking.
"Lindy, Chara is telling the truth. She is the daughter of Satan, and so am I." Luna says.
I look over at Luna and smile, then I look back at Lindy. "Don't piss someone off who knows more than you and holds technology that is practically not found until farther into the future dumbass. I'm just as dangerous as my father." My eyes turn blood red and I spread my wings, they shift into my black dragon wings and then back to my black feathered demon wings.
Luna, too, spreads her wings, which are reddish black dragon wings with feathers along the sides.
"But how?" Lindy asks.
Liam states, "Because Satan loves his children more than murder itself, duh."
I laugh and agree with Liam. "It's true, he does love us more than death itself." I smile and continue, "Also Luna and I are not adopted if that's what you're thinking. We've been born multiple different times. Luna is the youngest of the two of us. She's six hundred sixty six million six hundred sixty six thousand six hundred sixty six years old. While I'm one billion two hundred forty five million two hundred twenty two years old."
Luna giggles and says, "What can I say, I'm older than the two of you."
I laugh and say, "And I'm older than all of you. Plus I've seen the world in more than one era."
Lindy backs away from me, fear fills her eyes. I smile, having smelled her fear before she even showed signs of having it at all. Luna smiles as well seemingly smelling Lindy's fear, same as me. "Liam… H-how can you stand b-being near them? Th-they're p-pure evil!" She stutters, looking only at Liam and no one else.
"They're my little sisters, no matter how many times they've been reborn, no matter their age, they will always be my little sisters." Liam says, narrowing his blackish red eyes, which he got from Louis, accepting Luna and I as his two little sisters despite the fact that we're the daughters of Satan and older than him.
Lindy continues to back away and yells, "No! They've turned you against me! The only one I could truly be myself around. No no no no no!" Lindy runs off, leaving Luna, Liam, Angelica, and I to walk home.
