[Gritonnia Academy]
A week later, Shun is currently listening in the class that is teaching about the connection of life force of a human and nature that came from the world. This is discussed because it is important for them to know how to utilize their own life force in case a mage runs out of mana during an operation or mission.
Running out of mana during action is a normal occurrence in everyday life. It is so normal that most of the time, this type of incident is the leading cause of death for the mages who don't know any knowledge of close quarter combat. At most the only people who experienced such phenomenon are adventurers or military personnel's who often engage in outside mission or field activity.
But such incident such as running out of energy doesn't always happen whenever such missions or activities are made, there are conditions involves that lead to running out of mana. The first condition is that the mage itself has depleted its mana during a deep dive into the dungeon or mission with no mana recovery potion being brought along the way. The second is a long travel of a soldier or adventurer which resulted to depletion of recovery potion as the said activity's are prolonged.
The third is the said mage is or was drained out of mana by enemy or opposing entity that are hostile towards them or treats them as a power source. Lastly, mana depletion often happens when a mage is trapped or lost inside another country's territory or dungeon, with no way of getting out. IN this moment the survivability of a person diminish and its death potential increases.
The reason why this topic of life force is being taught is so that students of this academy would be able to learn how to utilize their life force as temporary mana house in case their own mana pool is depleted. With such method, they could either survive longer out in the wild during emergencies, or help themselves out in dire situations until a proper mana recovery is taken or recovered.
However such a method may seem like a good thing and alluring to the ears since magic using a person's life force is far stronger than magic used by the world 's natural mana, but such method has its own flaws. It's own flaws is due to the fact that the mage in question has to use its own life force to sustain a magic circle or formula.
In the society of mages, there is another name for such method being taught by the various academy which involves the usage of life force, and that is the "Suicide magic". In normal terms suicide means ending your own life. It is sometimes a way for people to escape pain or suffering. When someone ends their own life, we say that they "died by suicide." A "suicide attempt" means that someone tried to end their life but did not die.
The reason why this is called a suicide magic, is the very fact that a person is using its own life force to replace mana as its magic power source. As everyone knows lifeforce of a person is a precious thing an unreplaceable, it is the type of power which sustains the life of a person until his ripe old age. So the means of using one's life force to sustain a magic, is equivalent to a person cutting his life short to activate or use such magic, and one the life force is depleted , it can never be recovered or rejuvenated again, which leads to a death of the said mage. That is the reason why life force magi8c can be considered as a one time use magic, since the moment a person uses such method of magic, they will be bound to die once the spell ends.
A high risk, high return. So teaching such stuff to students can make them well aware of such magic and somewhat make them hesitate to use such method to reach the root of magic. However despite all of those precautions, there will be always people who never listened and still use such magic recklessly. Such is the reason why some people who used such magic, came from well known academies who teach such topic. Curiosity killed the cat, as they say.
"Life force or lifeforce may refer to: Spirit (vital essence), in folk belief, the vital principle or animating force within all living things. Vitality, ability to live or exist. Vitalism, the belief in the existence of vital energy. Energy (esotericism), a concept in spirituality and alternative medicine. While mana refers to an extraordinary power, essence, presence, and charisma. It is ever-present energy and applies to people, the cosmos and the natural world."
"The world's natural mana and human life force are two concepts that are closely related. Both represent the essence of life in the world and are considered two sides of the same coin. The world's natural mana represents the abundance and diversity of life, as well as its potential and creativity, while human life force represents the individuality and vitality of individual lives. These two concepts are intricately intertwined, and their connection is what sustains and fosters the growth and development of all life in the world."
"The dangerous aspect of using life force in magic, as opposed to mana, lies in its finite nature. While mana tends to be abundant and relatively easy to replenish when needed, life force is limited and finite. Its use in magic can quickly deplete someone's life force, leaving them weakened or even dead. On top of that, mana tends to be more versatile and controllable than life force, with the latter usually requiring intricate rituals and complex procedures to be used correctly. The risk of misusing life force in magic, therefore, is much higher."
"Using life force to perform magic is dangerous for a variety of reasons. Firstly, as mentioned earlier, life force is a finite resource and using it in magic can quickly deplete one's life force, leading to a decreased quality of life or even death. Secondly, the use of life force in magic can cause unpredictable and uncontrolled outcomes, leading to unintended side effects and consequences. Thirdly, misuse of life force in magic can also lead to severe trauma and psychological damage."
...
.......
As the professor kept talking about this topic, Sephiria poked Shun at his side and whispered to him in a low voice.
"Hey! if life force and mana are the same of concept, then doesn't that mean the others are too?"
"Huh? Excuse me?"
"Hear me out! if this is the case, then things such as Chi, mana, Nen, Reiatsu, energy, yin and yang, and etc... are the same... so if two anime worlds collide, would their personal logic of their world would be either nullify each other or merged into one which can benefit the two and not be in any Bias to one world at all?"
"Huh?"
"For example if one anime dictates that their mc as unbeatable and can kill enemy in one attack because its their world's logic, is combined with an anime that has an mc who cant be killed by any means of force and kill any people he wants in just a snap because that is their worlds logic. would two worlds combining negate their own logic or would it combine to benefit the two worlds?"
"Uhhhh..."
"For example the mc who cant be beaten could now be beaten and cant kill the other mc in just one attack, the same applies to mc 2 which can now be killed and cant easily kill the mc 1 in just a snap of his fingers...."
"I think they will still have their own worlds logic, based on some crazy fans theory and superiority complex"
"But wouldn't that not make any sense at all? what's the point?"
"Then why not just make one of them win?"
"Then that's bias and favoritism that doesn't go in fair judgement"
"... You know till this day, there are still other crazy fans out there who haven't figure out any solution for that kind of problem"
"Why?"
"Two words... correction three words actually, fan's superiority complex"
As Shun said that, he then saw Selene by the door, seemingly looking at his direction with an expression as if inviting him to talk elsewhere. Upon seeing her expression, Shun became curious for a bit, as he excused himself from the class and followed her to the hallway.
