A Troublesome Seal

Naruto followed Ruby and Weiss around Beacon, looking for Juane and Pyrrha but the entire academy was empty. There were so many Grimm that even Naruto felt tired of fighting them but he continued supporting the two girls. Their questions were solved when Juane called to inform them to inform about Pyrrha's whereabouts. She went after some woman who was too strong for her.

"Maybe she went after Cinder!" Naruto said.

"Why would she go after Cinder?" Weiss yelled at him, Naruto was still thinking if he should tell them about his empathy when Ruby interjected.

"Naruto is right! When I was trying to stop the match between Pyrrha and Penny, Mercury stopped me and easily beat me. He was never injured by Yang."

The ground shook and the three of them looked at the giant Wyvern. Naruto sensed someone was fighting at the top of the tower.

"Someone is up there!" He told them and ran towards the tower. Using the momentum he jumped up and teleported directly on top of the tower. His eyes widened when he saw the arrow flying directly at Pyrrha. If he did not hurry then it would certainly hit right in her chest.

Naruto moved without thinking, he bound the space around the arrow and used flash-step. His breath got stuck in his throat when the arrow struggled but continued to travel and hit Pyrrha right in the chest.

He touched her shoulder and teleported back at a safe distance. Pyrrha's eyes were wide and she looked at him with scared eyes.

"It's okay. Everything is going to be okay." He held her hand gently.

"...My. f-f-fr-friends."

"All of your friends are fine. I will make sure of that." He hugged her slightly when she started to disappear into golden dust. What no one saw was a trial of red light entering Naruto's abdomen.

He looked at Ruby that had just arrived with sad eyes. The girl looked like she had lost everything, Naruto knew what she was feeling but he could do nothing about it. His senses blurred when a build-up of power assaulted his senses. Naruto looked at Cinder's smug face, he was surprised to find out that she was not the one.

Ruby yelled and her eyes started emitting light so powerful that he had to hide his eyes or he might just go blind. Cinder yelled in horror and Ruby unleashed everything that she had. The Grimm around the tower roared painfully, they started turning into stone and stopped moving.

When everything cleared Naruto was open-mouthed. Cinder looked like an injured animal and Ruby was unconscious. He jumped in front of Ruby and released his aura that enveloped him like blue flames. Naruto glared at the injured Cinder and stopped himself from killing her right here instead threw a tag at her body that disappeared in a flash.

"Leave before I turn you into shreds." His was so cold that Cinder shivered. She wobbled and started running away. Naruto wanted to kill her but he had learned from his encounter with Akatsuki so he simply placed a tracking seal on her body when she was still in shock to find out who was giving her the orders.

After sensing that no one was near him, he picked up Ruby's unconscious body and scythe before jumped down the tower. He looked at the statue of Wyvern and then at Ruby. 'Freaky eye powers', Naruto grumbled and went towards Weiss who was looking at him pleadingly. His eyes softened looking at her disheveled face and he handed her Ruby's scythe to properly carry her.

When Naruto did not say anything Weiss understood and started walking beside him. All the Grimm had turned into stone so they did not have to fight there way out. When they reached the docks, a man stopped him and looked at Ruby with familial warmth.

"How is she?" He asked and Naruto directed his vision towards the Wyvern, "She seems to have used too much power that wasn't under her control. Her brain could not handle it and she went unconscious because of the additional trauma." Naruto stated after checking Ruby's condition.

"She's my niece and you can call me Qrow." He said and took ruby from him. Naruto looked at Qrow who was worried over the two sisters and stopped himself from asking questions. It was not the right time to ask questions regarding invasion when more Grimm were still coming towards Vale.

An area was cleared from Grimm which acted as a shelter for the people of Vale. relief efforts were carried out by the teachers of Beacon Academy and senior students. Many families were walking around with pictures on display of their scrolls and asking people if they had seen someone similar. Another wall was pasted with pictures and other things.

On the other hand, the Atlas army was rained with curses. Whether it was human faunus they were attacked by Atlas robots. The entire world had seen how Atlas, White Fang, and Grimm laid waste to the city. Soon, General Ironwood left with the army.

He was not the only one to leave, people from other Kingdoms hurried to evacuate from Vale. Wiess wanted to remain behind but was taken back his father who personally came to drag. Naruto had half a mind to punch the guy in the face and send him flying but the teachers stopped him saying that it would cause more chaos.

No one had any idea where Blake had gone because she ran away. Yang and Ruby were taken back by their uncle who also invited Naruto to visit their house in Patch but he declined saying that he wanted to help the people here.

The rest of the visiting teams also said their goodbyes to team JNPR and offered their condolences for Pyrrha's death before leaving. As people left the burden of eliminating Grimm and taking care of the refugees increased on the teachers.

Naruto watched everything from the sidelines. Sometimes he was visited by the people he had helped and others stood away from him because of his merciless slaughter of White Fang. In the end, he didn't care about what people thought of him and talked to some teachers if they wanted any help.

He signed himself to look for missing people and supplies because killing Grimm wasn't ideal in this situation. Since the giant Wyvern was still attracting more Grimm only a few people went out and others guarded the camp.

Naruto himself believed that with his speed and senses, he had a better chance to survive when he entered Vale. He worked hard and brought many people alive that were hiding but many times he also had to bring back mutilated dead bodies for the family to identify and bury. At least they could grieve properly and not stumble from place to place while holding photos of their loved ones.

The rest of his team was spent training his abilities. His body was on the third level of resistance seal and Naruto regretted that he did not unlock his seal before the invasion. If he did than Pyrrha would be alive. Furthermore, he sensed how much Cinder held but could not use, she did not have it before so he was sure that she did something to attain it and now she could somewhat neutralize his semblance. He also remembered that it was tough to use both properties of his semblance at the same time.

It was tiring for Naruto but he felt bad for not discovering their plans sooner. Which is why he did his best to help the people. Once the situation was stable enough he planned to visit Haven. He had discussed it with Glynda who told him that Ozpin knew something was happening and their entire team was legitimate students.

Maybe they infiltrated Haven Academy or the headmaster of Haven has joined hands with the enemy. Anything was possible and Naruto was determined to find out what was happening behind the scenes.

It was another uneventful day and Naruto had just got back from his petrol. Some people smiled and greeted because of the recent reputation he had garnered and he smiled back. Naruto did not take money or any kind of reward for his services which developed goodwill among the people.

He entered a small tent and took off his cloak and shirt to rest for a while. People respected his privacy so he was not worried that someone will enter and see him half-naked. He settled inside the sleeping bag and closed his eyes to sleep.

"Where am I?" A tired voice sounded and Naruto sat up. He looked around but saw no one. Even his sensing told him that no one was in the tent.

"What is this place?" It was a woman's voice that he was sure of but where was it coming from? 'Am I going insane?' he thought to himself.

"Who said that?" The voice yelled and Naruto jumped. It was similar to how Kurama talked to him. The voice sounded like it was talking in his ear or right inside his mind and he immediately closed his eyes to reach inside his mindscape.

When Naruto opened his eyes he was standing in front of the empty seal. The gates were opened like always but there was someone else that was looking at him with her green eyes.

"Pyrrha Nikos." He breathed out and Pyrrha got into a stance to defend himself. He calmed down his raging emotions and put his hands in the air to show he was not going to attack her.

"Calm down, I am not going to hurt you." He said soothingly, "Do you remember what happened to you."

Pyrrha was not sure what was going on. She tried to remember when suddenly her head hurt and she fell on her knees while holding her head. The memories of all the recent events rushed into her head.

Naruto was by her side in a flash and held her gently before she could fall. He saw that she was in pain so he simply held her.

"You were there. On top of the tower when I was about to die!" Naruto shut his mouth and looked away from her. He struggled if he should tell her right that she did die but this was not something he could hide from her.

"Pyrrha. You really died." she hurriedly moved away from Naruto and stared at him. "Please, this is not the time to make bad jokes. Now tell me who are you and where am I? Did you kidnap me?"

His lips twitched in anger but he controlled himself. What should he tell her? His seal kidnapped her and now she was in his mindscape? He sighed and massaged his temples. The seal on him that held Kurama was made with the help of Shinigami so he did not know much about it. He had never even thought of studying it so he could not be sure how Pyrrha's soul entered the seal.

"I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki." He paused and looked at Pyrrha to check if she was listening carefully, "We are in my mindscape."

"What is a mindscape?" She asked, "I also don't know much about it but it was created because of that seal." he pointed at the giant doors.

"From what I know it's a physical space inside my soul." He told her and waited for her to ask more questions but Pyrrha was frozen stiff. Naruto sighed and walked up to her, there was only one thing he could do now that she was here.

"I know you don't understand what's happening. Even I don't know why you are here but trust me just once and everything will be clear to you." Naruto smiled at her.

"Just fist bump me and you will know everything you need to know." He made a fist and presented it to her.
