Knifes of Rust

All the students were gathered up in the field. The girls were wearing black sports shorts with the golden letters that wrote "SA" (Spirit Academy). The boys had long sports pants which also had golden letters written on them. All the students had the same type of black t-shirt.

"Alright now that you've all gotten here, why don't we get started?" Miss Poier walked towards a bucket full of heavy metal balls. She leaned down toward the bucket and as she grabbed a ball she said, "the task is going to be very easy." As she lifted her self back up she proceeded to explain, "this ball is extremely hard to demolish without using a spirit's powers."

"All you guys have to do is destroy the ball before it hits the floor, with your spirit's powers of course." Su Rin slightly stepped forward so Miss Poier could notice her. "Can we use more than one spirit?" She asked.

It was rare for a student to have more than one spirit this early in the year. The truth was that Su Rin didn't have more than one spirit, but she wants to impress her favorite spirit tamer. So she thought a little lie wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Here are the rules." Miss Poier grabbed a piece of the flat rubber mat and laded it on the floor. She still hadn't answered Su Rin's question which made Su Rin think "was it a dumb question, I knew I shouldn't have asked." Su Rin was worried about nothing. Miss Poier didn't answer her question because she was going to mention it when she said the rules to her task.

"First you must mention your name and the name of the spirit which you will be obtaining power from." She stepped aside from the mat, about two feet away. "Then you will step on this rubber mat." After she said that she turned to look at the students and warned them "if you step out of the mat you will have to start all over again. And honestly, I don't have the time for that." Miss Poier then looked back at her clipboard and proceeded to say, "I will then throw the ball and as soon as I say go... you will all try to destroy it in the least time as possible."

Su Rin leaned over to Yorokobi and Ji Rose. She then asked them, "Who do you think is going to get the best time?"

"Obviously my Zen" Ji Rose's voice was filled with amazement whenever she mentioned his name. She was looking at him from afar as her eyes widely opened.

"Who do you think Yorokobi?"

Yorokobi frowned and slightly bit her lip. "I don't know, it could be one of us."

Miss Poier noticed that the girls weren't putting attention but she was strict so she just tried to get their attention by saying" Su Rin if you still haven't understood… you can only use one spirit." Caught off guard Su Rin jumped up in surprise.

Miss Poier then smirked and whither a challenging tone of voice she said: "One more thing students, do me a favor and don't hold back."

This meant the challenge was on. Each student's face changed. They were all serious this time. (Except kitsune whose face expiration never changed).

"Alright first one up Adino Zen." She tapped a pen on her clipboard as she waited for the student to walk forward. With style and elegance, he walked forward. He stepped on the rubber mat and did exactly as Miss Poier said. "My name is Zen, my last name is Adino. I'll be using Fiadh Deer. He turned to look at Miss Poier, "Would you like me to say the name of my move?"

"Oh I forgot about that, but please do." She nervously laughed as she scratched the back of her head.

"My move is called "Knifes of Rust" He turned his back around and got into position. His left leg was behind the other and his body was slightly leaned forward.

Miss Poier grabbed the metal ball and before any of the students could take another breath the ball was already flying through the sky. "Go!" she yelled.

Quickly Zen put together his index finger and his middle finger from both hands. Then he raised his arms and with his finger(his index finger and his middle finger from both hands) formed an X. As the ball kept flying threw the air, his fingers started to glow a rusty brown and in the blink of an eye, he separated his hands causing the glowing X which was on his fingers to go flying in the air, chasing after the metal ball. The air around The glowing power seemed to grow strong. You were even able to hear the sound of energy coming from the glowing X. Even though the powerfull attack was now far away from the students they could still feel the strong energy through the air. The air even seemed to get heavier and heavier. Finally, a loud boom was heard when the glowing power reached the ball and seemed to wrap itself around the ball and before the ball could even lose height it disintegrated in mid-air...

Even though he was confident he gave a quiet sigh of relief and returned to his normal body position.

"12.83 seconds...Not bad." Mis Poier then gave him a signal to go back.

Meanwhile Ji Rose was still fangirling over Zen. "You did really good, I bet no one will be able to beat that!"

With not much interest in what she had said, he walked away ignoring her. As he walked away with confidence, inside him he was unsure of everything that he had just done."That wasn't good enough." He frowned and then thought to himself. "I took to long powering up.." He was doubting his self again and again.

"I should have picked another move." Zen felt the pressure even though he was told he did good. It wasn't good enough, as a prince he was always expected to be the best. He felt uncomfortable with the time he had gotten. "Should I do it again?" he thought to himself.

Fun Fact:

Fiadh Deer: A spirit animal in the shape of a dear whose antlers are sharp metal. The deer tends to be a silver color.

The move called Knifes of Rust comes from Fiadh Deer. This move makes any metal object rust in an instant and turns into dust.
