A Man With A Dream pt 5

A/n: A little bit of an info dump chapter.

...

Alastor stepped out of the drug den with a delighted smile.

That had gone swimmingly!

Not only had he formulated his first deal, but he had an objective now!

To organize a team of performers!

He could visualize it now!

The conflict, the drama, the intense action!

Oh, how wonderful!

'And the options! Gotham is ripe with potential entertainers! The Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Clayface, Two-Face and so many more!' Thought the Radio demon with a jubilant smile.

The mere notion of such people being utilized to their greatest potential made him giddy with excitement!

Settling slightly, Alastor furrowed his brow in slight concentration and proceeded to plan out his ensuing course of action.

Unfortunately, he couldn't merely walk up to the supervillains of Gotham and offer them a deal.

That was a shortcut to a relatively quick death.

He needed more strength, whether that be personal or otherwise.

As Al thought about this, his mind wandered to the black mass following him.

Alastor had managed to do some experiments with the " willing" participants of the drug den.

What he found was nothing less than remarkable.

First, except for Alastor and Wesly, anybody who came in contact with the mass contracted ailments identical to what Wesly had before Alastor seized them.

That alone was an excellent ability Alastor sought to take advantage of.

Still, it didn't just stop there.

Secondly, it stacked with any already existing conditions making them worse, and by default boosting the potency of masse's influences.

Finally, Alastor was in complete control over how the mass would affect his victims. Enabling him to determine what delusions the marked individual would see.

It was a devastating skill that could incapacitate most heroes or villains temporarily.

There were some problems with it though.

For one, he couldn't enhance the strength behind the maladies beyond a particular threshold. That, however, could be remedied with time.

The other dilemma was that it didn't induce full insanity. Close, sure, but only enough to touch the edge. Those with powerful minds, or who understand its origin as an outside influence, could theoretically work through it. Albeit severely impaired.

However, its greatest shortcoming is its inability to target more than one person at a time.

The reason behind that last drawback is primarily Alastor's fault. He simply lacked the control required to effectively manipulate it in numerous people.

Generally, however, the mass was a valuable asset.

Grabbing said mass, Alastor idly manipulated it.

'Though merely calling it a black mass isn't very flashy of me.' Mused the Showman.

A superpower like this one needs a name.

Tapping his chin in contemplation Alastor ran through a couple of names in his head to anoint this ability of his.

' Apophis? No, perhaps later. Tzeentch?  Hmm, no that doesn't fit at all.'

For a few minutes, Alastor was quiet as he mulled over his options.

Then the vision of a particular Greek God of insanity came to mind.

'Dionysus! That matches wonderfully!' Alastor thought while peering at the newly named power.

Happy with the name of his ability Alastor continued toward his current destination.

That being the headquarters for "The henchmen association" or THA for short.

After Wesly had accepted his pact and invitation to be a "star", Alastor had inquired about his background.

While much of it was intriguing, what grabbed his interest was the underground institution that operated as the mediator between supervillains and henchmen.

Despite not possessing any money( though that wouldn't be a problem soon if his plans worked) he had much more to barter with.

After all, who doesn't want to be a bit younger?

....

A/n: Looks like Alastor has a goal now. That doesn't bode well for anybody.

I demand you share your thoughts!
