Training and Bonds

Another year has passed and I'm satisfied with the knowledge I have gained so far. Most of my time has been in pursuit of knowledge but it has been difficult, not only because my family is poor but also the difficulty of gaining more advanced information early on.

I had to make my own computer out of junk parts from the trash and even after that was achieved I still had a horrible dial-up connection. Most of my studies were from going to public libraries but even then it was difficult to get specifics.

Most of what I wanted to learn was engineering, chemistry, programming and languages. I focused on these because in my opinion they would be the most beneficial for me.

For engineering I wanted to learn not only to be able to make web-shooters, but to also help my own future costume additions and devices. Programming to at least get a barebones AI and knowledge on hacking. Chemistry for upgrades, web fluid and future endeavors, and finally language to help myself not only as Spider-Man but daily life as well.

My focus now is training to get fit as I want to be able to procure as many benefits as possible from the spider bite. Hopefully, the situation I wish will occur happens, but I won't keep my fingers crossed, if not I will have to work much harder.

Most importantly I need resources as I am very poor. You think Peter was poor on his own, now I'm in the equation as well, so our expenses are spread even thinner.

I have been able to procure initial funds from doing things like online translations and hacking. I have gotten proficient enough at hacking to open up fake accounts and such.

Most of the money I procure I invest, such as for example, Stark has already been kidnapped and when he returns and announces his closure of his weapons branch the stocks will plummet. Since I know it will have eventually returns, I plan to buy them up.

I use the additional funds to go to local dojos and I have finally been able to locate the Chikara Dojo a few months ago, which is headed by, Colleen Wing a member of the Hand. The dojo is a front for the Hand but unbeknownst to Colleen the 'scholarships' they offer are used to further indoctrinate her students.

I plan to use her dojo to learn enough to stay off the Hand's radar but also learn enough to further myself. I chose to learn from her as she is actually someone who could team with Iron Fist who is considered one of the greatest martial artists alive.

Unfortunately it's quite far from my home and I have to take multiple buses there. But in the few months I have been there I have learned the generic instructions of Karate and Jujitsu. Safe to say I can properly throw a punch. Since I'm still at a young age they can't really offer scholarships but I might have a higher risk of them trying to indoctrinate me.

Well, no risk then no reward. I want to be proficient in hand to hand combat at any cost. I need it to join the Avengers by at least Endgame, but hopeful what I want to happen occurs. But, until I know if it's going to happen I have to prepare.

A few months later

"Thank you, sensei." I say as I bow to my sensei, Colleen Wing, after our session.

"You're talented Parker, you should really take up Kenjutsu."

"I'm sorry sensei but, I prefer hand-to-hand combat instead." 'And I don't want the Hand to have me more than they do already.'

"Hmm, alright then I could at least teach you some Kempo."

I tilt my head in confusion, "What's Kempo?"

"Kempo is the name of several Japanese martial arts that mainly consist of striking. It can be translated as the Fist Method."

I flash her a smile, "Then please teach me sensei!"

We proceed to have lessons for the rest of the day on stances and such.

I realize that I have been out pretty late and quickly leave to get on the bus. It's a bit strange seeing a twelve year old going across New York late at night but I do what I must.

I get home nearly 40 minutes later and unlock the door before heading inside.

I walk in only to see Ben sitting on the table waiting for me. 'Shittt'

"Where have you been!"

I scratch my head, "I was out training..."

It seems it made him madder, "Training? For what? What are you training for?! Why so late at night, you're only twelve?!"

'Because the world will go to shit next decade! Because half of all life might be snapped out of existence! Because New York will have a fucking alien invasion in 3 years!!' Too bad I can't say that as I'm not some dumbass who tells everyone I'm reincarnated or know the future.

"Because I want to be strong."

"Why? Why do you go this far?"

"Because it's my responsibility."

'Which it truly is, I'm burdened by future knowledge and this world is not an exact copy of the MCU so I only have a general outline of what's going to happen, and if I have the knowledge that it will happen then it's my responsibility to stop it.'

His face softens a bit but is still stern, "Responsibility? For what?"

I smile at him 'He's really grown to be my pops, I mean he is pretty much one of the best examples of a father figure in marvel, he teaches such great morals as well, which have even become ingrained in myself through all these years with him."

"Don't worry pops, just trust me on this one."

He seems a little indecisive so I give him a hug, "I'm doing what I think is the right thing to do, so please trust me on this."

He see my sincerity and finally his face shows that he made a decision, "Alright Evan, I'll trust you on this one but you better not make me regret this."

"Thanks Dad." 'He truly has become my father over the years and is one of the people I want to protect no, NEED to protect.'
