"That's a relief, I apologize for the lack of—" Therius didn't know how to say it. When the king looked at Alderaan, all he could see was a reflection of himself and he didn't know what to say to that.
He just couldn't lie.
"I'm a bit of a mess, aren't I?" Therius hoarsely laughed and pushed away the tray of food brought to him. He shielded his face with his hands and said, "I miss Emma terribly. It's amazing how my love for her has made me turn into this."
Alderaan couldn't help but listen silently. He might have liked to ask where Emma was but knew he was in no place or position. A part of Alderaan secretly feared that Therius might lash out at him.
However, unlike his drunkard uncle who beat him, Therius was only caught in a sense of reminiscing and nostalgia. Of thinking back and daydreaming of the earlier days where things were all better.
