'John. Hurry up and kill him. We don't have all day.'
The man bit his tongue after missing his shot. Asuna managed to dodge the bullet. He yelled to John, who was tossing the shelves away.
'Let me have fun.'
Hikaru was inside, desperately thinking about what he could do in the next few seconds he had.
'Damn it, if only Alex was here.'
Wishing Alex to come to save them was all that he prayed.
'I have already completed my first goal and about to complete my third.'
Alex felt cold when he heard the third goal. Asuna and Hikaru flashed in his mind.
'Asuna.'
Alex dashed out of bed and sprung to his feet.
'You won't make it in time. I've already sent people after them.'
'Them? Is Hikaru with her?'
'Yes. I've sent two people after. They're in the petting zoo if you want to know.'
'Don't scare me like that.'
Alex exhaled a breath of relief before sitting on his bed. The other side was a bit confused.
'I don't feel like going to the petting zoo. It's too far.'
'Eh… Uh- What?'
Seeing Alex calm after hearing that, not only one but two of his friends were going to die bewildered him.
A loud gunshot was heard.
'I missed again.'
The man was annoyed, seeing Asuna kept running away. Hikaru was still trapped inside, wishing Alex would come until he heard the gunshot.
'You are taking Hikaru too lightly. Sure, he is a pushover that gets scared easily. But when it comes to Asuna, Hikaru can be amazing.'
The door was about to be torn down.
--I can't do the things Alex can.
Hikaru was picturing his death. He was ready to die, but in his mind, he saw Asuna, waiting for him to come to save her.
'I can't die right now.'
Hikaru searched the shed and found a metal pipe. He took it and saw a long wire piled in the corner.
'Now, it's my turn to tell you the goals.
1. Bring back Jason.'
Hikaru took the wire and tore off the plastic with his teeth to reveal the copper underneath. His gums were bleeding painfully.
--If I can't do great things like Alex.
'2. Confiscate your nuclear toys.'
--I'll do small things in a great way.
Hikaru wrapped the copper wire around the metal pipe. He took off his shirt and wrapped it around his hand.
'3. Stop you from doing whatever you're doing.'
The door was just a punch away from being destroyed. John broke down the door but saw it completely empty.
'4. Kick your ass.'
Alex ended the call.
Hikaru suddenly appeared, letting out his warrior scream. John was surprised by the determination. Hikaru continued and saw a tiny opening in his mouth. He used all his might to force the pipe in there.
As the pipe touched his lips, John felt pain. He couldn't understand what was causing it. Hikaru had connected the tube to a socket using the wire. What John felt coursing through him was electricity.
Hikaru used his shirt to protect himself from direct contact. John's body tried to remove the pipe, but Hikaru had him pinned utilizing every ounce of his strength to keep that pipe in. If it gets out, it's all over.
John started feeling numb. If it went on longer, he would faint or even die. Summoning whatever strength he had, he grabbed the pipe with one hand, trying to pull it out.
Hikaru was at his limit. He could hold it any longer, but his bloody eyes and bleeding face showed he will not quit. John's irises disappeared, and his hand lost its grip. His body became lifeless, and he fell down. Hikaru pulled the rod out of his mouth and jerked the wire from the socket.
His body had no strength left, but he was not done. He used the rod as a walking stick, dragging his body. He needed to reach the other side of the warehouse where Asuna was.
He was surrounded by animals who were there panicking from the commotion. He saw something peculiar among them.
The man got tired of Asuna and managed to get her into a corner.
'You're nimbler than you look.'
The man commended Asuna. He pointed straight at her head but stopped. He heard a shout, a frightening scream. He couldn't find where it was coming but from. He looked and behold a pale horse, and the rider's name was death!
Now imagine that while imagining Hikaru riding a ram, screaming hysterically, and barely managing to keep himself on. Holding his rod like a lance, he charged at the man.
He sank his blunt pipe deep into his stomach, delivering a good blow. The man dropped his gun and grovelled in pain.
'Run Asuna!'
Hikaru had fallen off, coming in contact with the man. He used the pipe to get up and clumsily ran towards the man, attacking him with his best weapon. The man managed to grab the cylinder and swept Hikaru off his feet.
'Why you…'
Hikaru landed on his back. The man began to kick him. He snatched away the pipe and was ready to pierce it into his eye. He held it like a spear threw it when he heard a loud bang.
The pipe missed its mark and penetrated the ground just beside Hikaru's ear. The man pressed his chest and saw blood.
He looked forward and saw Asuna holding the gun. He held his chest with both hands and dropped down, dead.
An hour later, Alex heard the doorbell. He opened the door.
'You're late.'
He commented. Hikaru had the iron pipe in his left hand, and Asuna supported his body from the right. His face was still bloodstained, and he breathed with difficulty, but he was smiling.
'We're in, Alex.'
On that day, Hikaru grew a little.
