Escaping As A King

Surrounded. That one word rang in my mind for a second as I wondered what to do. I had monster's following me, and I truly didn't know if these "Prisoners" truly like human's. Slightly relaxing my body, trying to appear less hostile I looked each one over as quickly as I could looking for any obvious means of weapons. However heaven seemed to finally smile upon my lost soul as one of the creatures walked out from the group and bowed to me. "Outsider, is welcome here. Please save our people if you are able from our misery." Considering the whole situation I knew these little creatures could be what allows me to live safely in this world, but what could I do to possibly survive. Deciding to just try even if I fail I declared it aloud for all the creatures here to hear. "I shall, try to help though all, but I wish for one thing. For the ones I save, who upon should serve me." Using old english to sound like a royal or king as best as I could all the monsters seemed to tremble at the words clearly superior to whatever they could ever hope to use.

Walking forwards I walked up to the one that had talked to me. "When I save this group you should become my right hand man, a King is unable to rule his people alone without causing problems for his people." Somehow they truly believed I would give my life trying to save them. To me they seemed to be nothing but innocent little souls who were put into an unfortunate accident. Then I thought of the letter. 'Is the reason these creatures are dumber than normal one is that their souls are wiped clean by the Prison Guards. Shivering remembering what they could do I pondered over the options I had to survive this and create this group of mine. As if in some answer the system voiced itself out.

"Detected the host's minor liking of the idea of leading a group. Unlocking System function of Leader. All those who serve the host with true wishing to help him shall be put under a boost until they decide to break away from the host. Current boost the host can have is a boost of +1 Charging Strike skill to all his Knights."

Admittedly I froze. Then smiled with a grin that would terrify any innocent soul, which it did as many of the prisoners around me started questioning their decisions. Feeling embarrassed and blushing a bit at my unfiltered actions I tried to get back my position in their hearts. "I have as a King, one ability I can grant to my citizens for now. For those who wish to work as my knights I can bestow it. Show a lift of hands to those who wish for it. A second seemed to pass in thought for all those present. Their simple innocent thoughts as they were made some accept to do the job extremely quickly, and others shake their heads in a no in an instant fashion at the thought of fighting. Seeing the clear division that was before me I wished there was something I could do to help them.

"Host can unlock bonuses bonuses for other types of soldiers in the future instead of just knights, and can even unlock bonuses to crafting certain items for your whole city, if you ever create one. "Greed minoryly flashed in my eyes at all the powers and options that had been presented to me today, and with my morals breaking down from constantly running for my life, I admittedly fantasized for a small time about what powers I could eventually gather. Thankfully, and unthankfully it was these same monsters that brought me back to my senses. Thinking quickly I remembered different types of orders given in novels and other such things. Hoping it would work to something similar to that I ordered as quickly as I could. "Second, take those who don't wish to fight and make them run away towards the basement. We can trap the monsters from reaching us there barricading ourselves in. Taking to the orders after wondering who second was before remembering the person said it was second in command, the slightly dignified prisoner took off with his fellow prisoners down the floors. At this moment I could only hope that I was doing what I was needed.

Down the force went followed by me and my "Knights". Laughing in my mind at the irony of me escaping with a bunch of "Prisoners" I kept it in my mind as we ran. Coming around a corner of the floor I saw a bunch of creatures stored in this floor of the basement. Signaling to grab one with the rest of the soldiers I started to realize my strength was magnitudes better than before. Realizing this was the reward for when I met the prisoners I started observing their strength. Looking at the knights I realized all of them had the same strength as a normal human except for one thing. They all had stamina that was superhuman. They weren't even breathing hard as I struggled to carry the crate I had grabbed. Putting mine down at a door signalling 5 of the knights to also drop theirs at the door we continued on our journey. Thankfully the plan worked as I could hear the monsters a couple of floors above us finally banging their way through the makeshift blockade as they didn't have enough intelligence to make their way through them without busting them up.

Making our way into a random room at the last hallway of the last floor of this basement I signalled the last of the Knights to drop their crates on the floor. Finally understanding what I was doing the prisoners wept in joy. Standing up to face the crowd with as much courage as I could as I suddenly became aware of what I had done earlier with the adrenaline pumping through my body from each situation after the other, I tried to fully calm myself down before I would talk. "Citizens, we have completed the first step of our salvation. We have secured a spot that we own ourselves. From here we can expand our influence and slowly gain back your beloved town, and if you wish to leave the terrible memories of this town behind we can leave and start another." Considering if I should leave the speech there in my tiredness I decided against the temptation to do just that.

"Our mission to do just that though has just begun. We need to learn to take out the Guards before they hurt you. And considering you can come back you can relearn to better face them the next time. Using my lessons I shall turn you all into knights, warriors, or people that others can be proud of, that you can be proud of, and you shall fight. Fight for your kingdom. Fight for your freedom. Fight for your future generations, and rejoice. For I am with you all that way as your king." With the speech that was originally a bit cold as they didn't understand what I was doing they slowly chanted king as they understood the purpose of my speech, and took it to heart.
