I coughed up blood, making sure to get as much of it on her face as I could. I grinned as I watched my murderer wipe the red out of her eyes in disgust.

"I hope it stains," I croaked. "I hope you have to throw away that ridiculous fantasy getup."

She simply laughed, her eyes glinting with amusement. For some reason, I felt like this wasn't how it was supposed to go.

"The mind of a dead man is truly incomprehensible," she said mockingly, gripping her sword tighter.

"You'll find out what it's like eventually," I croaked. "Better to use my dying wish to make your life mildly more annoying."

My murderer simply laughed. I remember at some point thinking that the sound was pleasant, and if I were to be honest with myself...it really still was.

"Poor, poor Demon Lord," she cooed. "Having to rely on dying wishes to inflict pain on your enemies."
