The Need for a Partner to Collect a Marriage Certificate

Ye Mu really had nowhere to go now.

She wanted to acquire the Hua Jing mansion as soon as possible. She would not let the mansion that her father left for her fall into the hands of another woman and Gu Yiming to live in.

But how could getting married be such an easy concept?

Within the week, she contacted all the male friends that she was close to. However, no one was willing to marry her. For the people in the entertainment industry, how much value was there in supporting someone who had gotten married so early?

Furthermore, in the city, everyone knew that they could not afford to offend the Ye family.

Even Zhao Zigeng who had been wooing her for the entire four years in university had hesitated at this critical moment, "Ye… Ye Mu, if you agree to be my girlfriend, I would be very happy. But you… you are asking me to get married to you! This is really too sudden…"

"I don't have a choice either. But after obtaining the certificate, we can immediately divorce." Ye Mu was now finding it difficult to discuss the matter now after being refused by so many people.

"Sorry… I just signed a contract with a management company and I promised that I would remain single in the next five years." Zhao Zigeng shook his head and refused. Even if he hadn't signed that contract yet, he would still not agree to Ye Mu's ridiculous proposal.

Ye Mu's eyes flashed with disappointment, the corners of her mouth twitched, "Sorry to bother you."

Left with only one day remaining. If she couldn't obtain the marriage certificate, Ye Qiyi was going to move into Hua Jing already.

As soon as she imagined that scene, she couldn't help but bite her lips.

But she had already talked to every contact that she knew… who else could she look for?

As Ye Mu stood at the bus stop looking at the bulletin board of Ye Qiyi's latest cosmetics endorsement, her eyes gradually grew sore. If Papa was still around, would everything be different?

Ye Mu stuck her hand into her coat pocket, frowning slightly. When her hand withdrew from the pocket, there was a handkerchief with a string of numbers written on it.

She vaguely remembered that this handkerchief wasn't hers. That day when she got drunk, she seemed to have met a Good Samaritan who had wanted to help her.

Staring at the string of numbers, Ye Mu unexpectedly dialed it in desperation.

After only a few moments, the man's incredibly mesmerizing voice drifted out from the other side of the phone, "Hello."

'That… I'm the one whom you gave your number to—Ye Mu. You said that I could look for you if I had a problem…" Ye Mu stammered.

Mo Shen let out a soft voice of agreement, "I know."

Ye Mu bit on her red lips. Without thinking about how Mo Shen knew that it was her that called, she forced herself to ask, "I need a marriage certificate. Can you help me?"

When her words fell, the man from the other end of the phone went silent.

Ye Mu patiently waited, anyone would be speechless and intimidated by her request! To be honest, if she wasn't in desperate straits, she wouldn't randomly call a stranger to ask for their help regarding this matter.

In the end, she had scoured through everyone she could contact in her cellphone; the only number that she hadn't contacted yet was the number scribbled on the handkerchief. But now, looking at the situation… it seems that this person was reluctant too.

After a long period of silence, she hung her head low in slight disappointment, "It's fine even if you reject…"

"Where are you?" Mo Shen spoke, stopping her mid-way through her sentence.

Ye Mu was slightly flabbergasted, and couldn't react for a while.

Mo Shen then repeated his question, "Where are you?"

"32 Road, Cheng Qu Station." Ye Mu was slightly taken aback before informing him of her location.

"Mhmm." Mo Shen acknowledged.

Afterwards, Ye Mu then heard the cell phone being hung up with a 'pah'.

Ye Mu stared at the phone in a daze, did he just agree?

In less than 10 minutes, Mo Shen's car stopped at the bus stop that Ye Mu had said she was at, wound down the car window and looked at Ye Mu—who was still in a daze, "Get on."

Ye Mu solemnly looked at him a few times to verify that he was indeed the man she had seen that day. Not everyone had such an outstanding appearance, so she was sure of his identity after a single glance. Reassured, she opened the car's door and went inside.

Mo Shen withdrew his gaze and raised his arm to help her put on the seatbelt. Then, he started the car's engine and didn't say another word.

Ye Mu watched the car drive off as she bit her lips and asked in a low voice, "Where are we going?"

"Civil Affairs Bureau." Mo Shen's gaze was focused on the road, his expression was as calm as wind and as indifferent as clouds.

"Go… Going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to do what?"

Mo Shen's pair of profound eyes slanted towards her, "Aren't you missing a partner?"

Ye Mu had just asked the question, yet she was already forced to bite her own tongue in shock.

Wasn't she the one who had asked for the favor?

Why was she asking despite already knowing the answer?

"Young… Young Uncle, why are you helping me?" She finally remembered. This man had said that he was some uncle.

"Not to help you." Mo Shen's eyes glanced at her for a moment before he turned his gaze back to the road, "Ye Mu, it's me who wants to marry you."

He wanted to marry her? Ye Mu was incredibly confused, "Why do you want to marry me?"

The hand that Mo Shen had placed on the steering wheel tightened. His extremely good-looking side profile faced Ye Mu, "I've reached the marriageable age while you lack someone to take care of you. Isn't this about right?"

Ye Mu lowered her face.

Mo Shen recognized her, but she could not remember Mo Shen.

Getting married so hastily, Ye Mu felt that there was something fishy.

The car arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Ye Mu raised her head and looked at the place, she sat in the car for quite a while. Seemingly in deep thoughts, Ye Mu recollected herself by thinking that she needed a person to marry right now.

However, marriage was no longer possible between Gu Yiming and her. Even though she had no idea what would happen to her if she married Mo Shen, if she didn't marry today, she would be unable to retrieve even the last measly bit of inheritance that her father left for her.

Perhaps… maybe perhaps. Simply getting married like this wasn't that bad of an idea.

"All right." After a long time, she raised her head and looked at Mo Shen. Determination briefly flitted across her pair of clear eyes.

These two acquired their marriage certificates in such a hasty manner. When the two red books were placed in Ye Mu's hands, she was still in disbelief. In just half an hour, she had already graduated from being a media studies college student to a married woman.

Mo Shen looked at the marriage certificate in Ye Mu's hand and actually felt some relief.

"Young Uncle, you currently don't have a place to stay?" With a sigh of relief, Ye Mu raised her head and stared at Mo Shen before asking, "I remember that you said that you are a photographer that day?"

Wasn't there a saying called, "photography bore three generations of poverty"?

Mo Shen looked at her in astonishment.

Noticing that Mo Shen hadn't answered and didn't even turn to look at her, she came to a conclusion by herself as she told him earnestly, "Don't worry, we will have a house to stay in tomorrow."

Listening to the little girl's words, the edge of Mo Shen's lips slowly lifted into a smile. It seemed that she still hadn't realized the situation she was in.

But Mo Shen didn't disclose the truth, he simply nodded his head, "Okay."

Getting into the car, Ye Mu sighed quietly, "Let's just quickly return the car to the owner. We will have to pay for damages if we scratch it."

Neither of them had any money. If the car was wrecked, they would be in trouble.

"This is my car." Mo Shen started the car, adding indifferently, "It's worthless."

A car costing tens of millions of dollars, he said that it was worthless! Due to his words, Ye Mu—who didn't understand cars—actually believed him!

"Can you drive me to a place first?" Ye Mu didn't think too much. All she could think about now was her father's house.
