The next couple of days passed by quickly and without incident. Emily was warning up to Ada, though Ada had no idea why. She'd had her break down and was able to managed her emotions again without further incidents.

In that time, she learned that Vincent, the oldest son of the pack alpha, was the Male that she had saved. He was her mate and although she could still feel the bond between them, it was still weak. Being close to one another would make it grow stronger, but if the rest of the pack knew that she was a rogue and his mate, she knew they would do everything they could to keep them apart. Emily tried to assure Ada he was not there because he was busy, but she knew otherwise.

She had almost full use of her arm again and was able to do some minor stretching in the room. Emily had found clothing that would fit Ada and allowed her to change out of the hospital gown. She still could not leave and while Emily said it was because she still needed time to recover, Ada knew it was because the pack leaders were not going to let a rogue wander their territory. It was a wonder she was still alive at all.

Emily nodded her head as Ada moved and stretched, able to move far more than she could before.

"Good. You are recovering quickly. Just a few more days and we will see how you do with a shift." Emily said to Ada, who cast a glance over at the woman.

"Are you sure that is a good idea?" She asked Emily, a wry grin on her face. Emily pursed her lips, clearly not amused by what Ada was hinting at.

"Yes. I'm quite sure. It will aid in your healing." She replied with narrowed eyes, Ada sitting down on the bed as she looked at the window.

"I will have to shift in here." Ada sighed. It was not a question. She had not seen anything out of this room since she had arrived. She was not even allowed to open the curtain on her window. She was trapped in this tiny room and she was starting to feel a little stir crazy.

Emily could see it, and she clearly was uncomfortable with the idea. She could not fathom having to shift inside and not be able to run. It was a terrible punishment and she hated that this is how it had to be.

"For now. Maybe one day you will taste the fresh air outside of this room again." She offered with a hopeful smile. She could see by the look on Ada's face that she was not convinced.

"If it's not this room it will be another." Ada sighed as she sat back down on the bed. Emily could not bring herself to protest because she knew it was true. They have might have decided not to kill her, but she was still trapped. She was a prisoner and unfortunatly there did not seem to be any movement on releasing her. They were too afraid of her.

Being part of the pack Emily had told them everything that Ada told her. It didn't help the girl but it didn't make things worse either. She was stuck in some kind of limbo state and she knew that Ada could feel it.

"I wish things were different." Emily said to Ada, who shook her head.

"If they were different, I would still be out there. I might even be dead." She felt a tightness in her chest when she said it. While she wanted Vincent to reject her because it would be easier, the thought of leaving him without never having known she was there hurt. At least they knew they each existed, even if they were clearly never actually going to be mates. It made Ada wonder how long it would take before she went insane from the growing bond that would never be sealed.

"Try and get some rest." Emily said to Ada and left the room, leaving the woman to lay on the bed and heavy a sigh. Ada stared up at the ceiling as she lay there, doing her best to control her heart. She was almost fully healed and she knew that once Emily no longer had an excuse to keep her there, she would be removed.

She felt a sudden bloom in her chest and knew that Vincent was close. Their bond was still growing, though at a much slower rate than it normally would. Most of the time he was far away and she could almost not feel him at all. With him closer, she had to wonder why he was at the hospital. Was one of his injured pack members still here? Was he there to see her again?

A bitter feeling caused her to sigh as she pushed away the thought. He would not be there for her. They might have been mates, but he didn't seem to want her. Why he had not rejected her yet was a mystery to her and she was hoping it was not just because he wanted to torture her. Being almost completely isolated and prevented from going outside or shifting was bad enough. Feeling him so close and knowing that their mate bind was I'll fated made it worse.

She rolled over onto her side and jammed her eyes shut as she tried not to think about it. She tried not to think about him.

She heard her door open and pulled the blanket up over her head.

"I'm getting some rest, Emily. But I can't sleep if you keep barging into my room." She grumbled, slightly annoyed that the woman had returned so soon after telling her to rest.

The blanket was pulled off her swiftly and Afa opened her dark eyes, huffing out a sigh.

"Okay! Geeze! I'm sorry I said I would be dead if things were different. But its true-" She cut herself off as she rolled over and instead of her eyes locking with those of Emily, they instead found deep amber eyes that smoldered with burning emotions too tangled to decipher.

Vincent. She knew he was close but in her room again? She stared up at him and dashed the look of shock from her face quickly. His expression twitched but did not shift from the controlled mask of indifference that he leveled on her.

When the silence of them staring at one another became too awkward for Ada, and the burning need to be closer to him grew to the point where she almost threw herself at him, she tore her eyes away.

"Is there something you wanted or did you just come to stare? If it's the latter, I think I want to charge admission." She leaned back against the pillows on the bed, fighting a wince as she placed a hand on her chest.

His body twitched, but he otherwise didn't move. After a few more moments of his silence she brought her eyes back to his.

"If you are planning on rejecting me just get it over with. This waiting business is just not doing it for me." She sighed.

"What makes you think I would reject you?" He asked. Ada looked at her hands before giving a shrug.

"Because I'm a rogue. Because I have killed wolves. Because no one else in your pack will ever trust me. Because you are the next alpha and no rogue has ever been a Luna." She listed off, raising fingers on one of her hands as she did so.

Before she could continue he reached a tan hand out and grabbed her pale hand. It was a firm grip, but not enough to hurt. She felt pins and needles shoot down her hand and up her arm from the co tact and she silently held her breath for a moment to keep herself from sighing.

The urge to look at him became overwhelming and when their eyes met again she could see pain behind his carefully controlled mask.

"Emily trusts you." His voice was quiet, with less of an edge to it than before. Ada let out a bitter laugh and forced herself to look away from him.

"Because she has spent time with me. No one else in your pack even wants me here. They would never want to get to know me and they definitely would never accept me as a member of the pack let alone their Luna." She said to him, attempting to pull her hand from his.

His grip tightened slightly, preventing her from taking her hand back. He pulled her hand more into his before bringing his other hand down and gripped her hand with both of his. She didn't resist, but she also didn't look at him.

"I want to know you." He said to her, but Ada turned her head more away from him.

"If it were not for the pull of the mate bond, you would not be saying that. I would be dead and you would have gone on with your life knowing you had taken out more rogues." Her voice was quiet, borderline depressed. His grip on her hand tightened.

"But it is there. Like it or not we are mates." He said firmly.

"If you knew the things I've done you would not want me as your mate." She countered, ripping her hand from his. His entire body tensed beside her.

For a moment Ada thought he was going to lash out at her and hit her, but instead his hand came down and gripped her chin gently. Still, she was unable to suppress her flince.

When he turned her head to make her look at him, the pain behind his eyes had deepened and there was a hard expression on her face.

"Emily has told me everything you told her." He informed her. She carefully controlled her emotions so he could not see the storm that raged to life withing her. He was closer to her now and with his fingers on her skin, the bond between them was screaming.

She could smell his scent with him so close, and taste his breath. He seemed to be leaning closer and closer to her as the two of them stared at one another. It was getting too intense, too close. Her eyes moved down to his lips before she finally managed to pull her face from his grip.

"Then you know why it would be better if I was rejected." She said finally, but she could feel that he was still close to her. She opened her mouth to talk again but but his hand was suddenly there.

As his hand came to rest gently against her lips, she could feel the rough calluses one the pads of his hand. His scent was overwhelming with his hand there, like pine and fresh earth.

"I have been trying to find my mate since I could shift. When it was clear that it was none of the women in our own pack, my father began sending me out to our allies packs to search. I've spent years traveling the world to find you, I'm not giving you up now that I have." His voice was firm, it Ada was almost too wrapped in his scent to hear him.

She lifted her own hand and pushed his hand away from her mouth slowly.

"I was taken from my pack long before the age to shift. You would have never found me." She told him. Her hand was still on his wrist and she could feel his body shudder. After just a moment he brought his hand to her face again and turned it so she was looking at him.

She felt so vulnerable with him there! She didn't like it. She also didn't like the look in his eye. It was hungry and primal, a shudder running through her body and back up her spine as she realized that the hunger he felt was for her.

With them so close and the contact, their bond was growing stronger and it was harder to ignore it. Especially with him looking as if he wanted to consume her.

She pushed his hand away from her face again, but she kept her eyes locked with his.

"Your pack will never accept it. They will never accept me." She warned. He leaned in closer to her, their lips almost touching.

"They wont have a choice." His voice had deepened as he spoke quietly, not needing his voice to be louder than a whisper with them being so close.

It was at that moment that Emily burst into the room.

"She needs her rest!" She was not yelling, but it was still high pitched and there was a frantic look on her face. A deep growl escaped Vincent, though he did not move. Ada took it upon her self and pulled back a bit, the reached up and placed her hand over his face and pushed him back. She felt him inhale deeply against her hand before bringing both of his hands up to the one over his face and let his fingers caress the smooth skin slowly.

Ada pulled her hand away, taking her eyes from his face, it not before she saw the look of disappointment that flashed across his features. He stood still, staring at Ada, then turned and walked quickly out of the room.

Emily watched him go before she closed the door and made her way over to Ada. Ada was not doing good. She could ignore the bond when he was far away, but it had grown quite a lot while he was in there and unable to keep his hands off her. She shuddered and closed her eyes and leaned back against the pillows on her bed. Emily got her some water.
