They got in trouble. They had spent the entire night in the cabin and when they did t show up in the morning for their duties, because they were making up for lost time and never left the comfort of one anothers embrace, Zack and Jessie were sent out to find them. They were asleep tangled up, and Zack did his best to wake them up without making Vincent mad.
After a bunch of arguing and lots of complaining, the couple got dressed and walked back to the house. Vincent was pulled away to get chewed out by his parents and Ada was sent out to training.
There were more new people and she could see that some of them were nervous. She walked over toward them and saw one girl, with Auburn hair and dark eyes. She was more tense than the others and there was a hard look on her face that Ada knew well. She forced a smile, letting her own dark eyes fall on the girl.
"You look confident." Ada said to the girl, a slight grin on her face.
"Of course I am. I've been training to fight since I was little." She replied, a dark grin on her face. Now Ada was more sure of this.
"Alright. Show me what you've got then." Ada took a few steps back, everyone around them backing away as well. Zack quickly stepped in close to Ada.
"You never start training like this. What are you doing?" He whispered her her, looking over to the other woman who was wearing a hard expression now.
"Proving a point." She replied and shooed him away. When he was gone, Ada nodded for the girl to start. Right away she dove at Ada and swung at her face, but Ada dodged easily and slapped the girl's arm away. She darted back from Ada and planted her feet, then twisted and attempted to kick Ada in the gut. Ada easily stepped back and the girl fell.
Ada could feel the power from Vincent flow through her. She could also feel his anger and irritation at his parents. She had to push aside his emotions and focus on the fight.
Even though she was distracted, she still easily felt the girl close in and she dodged the punch to her face.
"Stop moving!" The girl yelled, Ada staring at her blankly.
"Just so you can hit me?" Ada asked, the girl growling at her.
"Yes!" She hissed back. Ada sighed.
"If you actually want to hit someone, you have to do more than just flail at them." Ada said to her, then squared off and set her stance. She dodged another kick and grabbed her leg, spinning her and throwing her away. The girl landed hard, getting up and charging at Ada, who charged back and they ended up in a grapple. The intent was clear in her eyes, but Ada didn't back down. She pushed back against the girl and forced her to her knees.
When the girl shifted and tried to trip her, Ada shifted herself and pushed off the ground, instead tackling the girl to the ground and she twisted her around, yanking her arms to the sides and back, crossing them over her neck and driving a knee into her back. The girl yelled and growled, it she sighed and stopped struggling, submitting to Ada.
Ada let her go and got off her, watching her get to her knees. Ada then offered her a hand to help her up. The girl took it and Ada saw her hold her other hand back. She smiled at the girl, who grinned at her darkly.
Ada didn't have to see her hand to know that she has grown out her claws and she dove her hand at Ada's chest. She moved fast and everyone else could see ajar the girl was planning, but they would never make it in time. It would either pierce her heart or at least a lung. It would be a fatal wound. But it never landed.
Ada grabbed the girl's wrist, to her surprise.
"Never attack an ally." Ada growled darkly and she gripped her wrist harder. Fear flooded the girl before she twisted and grabbed her arm further up with her other hand. As she spun, she threw the girl away from her and to am open spot in the crowd, just as Zack got to her.
"Damn... That was close." He breathed, clearly upset.
"You should know by now that no one gets to hit me unless I let them." She said as she elbowed him gently. Zack shoved her as Vincent ran up, breathing hard. He ran the whole way.
Ada walked over to him, not letting him see who Jessie was dragging away.
"I'm fine. She never got close." Ada said to him, grabbing his hand to keep his attention on her.
"I felt the realization." He said to her and she grinned.
"I kind of knew. I think its the girl that stabbed me. No going after her." Her last words were hard and he sighed. She could feel that he wanted to say more but she pressed her lips to his to silence any objections. She held the kiss for a few moments then broke it off.
"Jessie is taking her to your parents. Everything is fine." She explained. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly. She could feel the need in him to protect her.
"Everything is fine." She said to him, then turned to the rest of the class.
"I hope you were all paying close attention. She was attempting fatal damage but I was able to brush her aside because I could see how her body moved and the way her eyes changed. This is what rogues do. They fight and they kill until they become the monsters you think they are. What better way to stop a monster than to become one yourself?" She said to them, one of the women who had been there for a few months stepping forward.
"Are we going to have to kill?" She asked, Ada shaking her head in responce.
"No. Not unless it comes to that. I'm teaching you everything I know. I've had to fight and claw my way through life. I've earned a fear name because of how well I trained myself. I want to make sure that all of you will be safe if you happen to come across rogues." She answered honestly.
"So that is why we only lost two in the attacks on the hunting parties?" One of the new people asked. Ada didn't have to ask as those who had been there answered. They told their stories, making sure they added in how scared they were and how they made sure to use their training to keep everyone else safe. It became story time and Ada was more than happy to let them.
After she was attacked, Ada decided it was better that everyone got to talk instead of training. Those more experienced and those who had fought regailing the rest with their stories.
Vincent lead Ada a short distance away from the others and he sighed as he gently cupped her face in his hands.
"What happened?" He asked. Ada could feel his worry and she lifted her hands and placed them over his, snuggling her face into his hands.
"She was going to attack. I faced her one on one and gave her what she wanted. I was never in danger. She was not trained like I was. I saw right threw her and I knew that she was going to try and go for a fatal attack. I stopped her. She never got close." Ada promised, then lifted her eyes to meet his.
Vincent was still upset, but she could see that he trusted her enough to not press the matter. Clearly she had it under control, his need to protect her just set him on edge knowing that she was in danger and he was not there.
"Jessie and Zack were both here as well. I was fine." She placed a hand on his face gently and he closed his eyes, leaning into her touch.
Later, at the end of the day when they were both back in his room, Ada could feel that Vincent was still upset. She didn't like that he was so focused on this and as he pulled his shirt off to go into the bathroom to freshen up, she pulled off her shirt and she darted to him, throwing her arms around him and pressed her bare chest against his bare back.
Vincent shuddered at the feeling of their bare skin touching and Ada felt him relax in her arms.
"I was scared." He said, Ada kissing his spine gently and he shuddered again. She could feel excitement was through him and she blew out a breath against the back of his neck.
"I know. But at least within the pack grounds, you need to trust me." She said to him. He turned in her arms, a serious look on his face.
"I do trust you." He was offended, but she didn't back down.
"You came running as soon as you felt me in a fight." She pointed out. He didn't back down.
"I do know how to fight. I know how to defend and protect myself. I've got this." She said to him. He tried to hold his hard gaze but it cracked, then fell apart and he sighed, pulling her I to his arms against his chest. She closed her eyes and breathed in his scent deeply.
They remained that way for a while before he dragged her into the shower. He got touchy in the shower, his lips and hands touching any part of her skin that they could reach.
Once Vincent decided he was good with the shower, he turned off the water and carried her to the bed without drying off and burried jis face between her legs right away. He wanted to hear her moan.
Moan she did as his lips and his tongue got to work, bringing her to to the peak and beyond a couple of times before he kissed up her body and claimed her lips as he joined their bodies. They both moaned as he thrust into her and she threw her head back.
Her arms wrapped around him and her nails dug at his back, causing him to groan and his thrusts became more needy. This was more for him than anything else. Ada could take the punishment.
He brought them both to the zenith and they lay holding one another and breathing hard. Ada was not sure when she fell asleep, but she woke very early the next morning in Vincent's arms. She'd had a nightmare and woke up.
Unlike most others she knew that woke up screaming or thrashing, she just opened her eyes when she had a nightmare. She snuggled against Vincent and after admiring his face in the dark for what felt like hours, she was able to finally fall back asleep.
She didn't have as many nightmares now that she was with Vincent, but they did still show up from time to time. Most of them were of the times she was tortured or worse, or of being hunted and killed. It always made her heart race, but she quickly got it under control so that she would not wake up Vincent.
She had told him about her dreams and he always told her to wake him up, but she sisnt want to. She wanted him to sleep and she knew that he would just worry about her. They were just dreams. She would talk about them with him later. For now she wanted to just sleep in his warm embrace and enjoy the feeling of safety she got when being there.
