Discovering who had killed that woman was harder than the two of them had hoped. There was no other scent around the body since it was clearly put there before the snow fall. Any evidence as well was gone, like hair or footprints. They had no way of knowing what happened other than to ask around. Of course they were not asking about her death, but if anyone had seen her since she had tried to kill Ada.

They still could not get an audience with the alpha. It seemed he was far too busy for a missing person. It didn't make much sense since she was a member of the pack and he was the one that was supposed to take care of all of them.

Ada was sitting in the tub trying to think of their next move. She was forced to rest this week, but she was restless. Training was being done, rogues were moving in, and someone had killed that girl. Her and Jessie were planning to go. ack to her body and pull it out of the snow. Maybe there was something they missed last time.

She got out of the tub and dried herself off, dressed and headed down for food. There was already breakfast on the table for her. No one else was around. She was going to go crazy alone in the house.

She ate and began exploring the house. It was too quiet. This was frustrating. Vincent kept assuring her that everything was fine. she opened up to him about her fears, about not being able to reach his mom or dad, but he bushed it off.

"Their just busy. There's a lot going on and they have to make sure everyone is safe and ready." He had assured her, but it didn't help. She just felt more on edge.

She came to a stop in front of the Alpha's office again, staring at the door. For a long moment she stood there just staring at it, then finally stepped forward and opened the door and walked in. Still empty. Where was he?

She walked around the room slowly, looking at the books and pictures of his family and pack on the shelves. The walls covered in drawings from the children, and his desk looking very professional and arranged neatly. She walked around the desk and sat in the chair, leaning back in it and letting out a sigh. She went to push herself back when her bare foot pressed against something sharp and she let out a Yelp of pain, pulling her foot back.

She sat forward and pulled her foot up. She was bleeding. Her eyes moved to the floor. There was broken glass. Her heart and stomach dropped at the same time. A feeling of dread filled her and she quickly got up. She pulled off her shirt and cleaned up her blood and quickly left the room, closing the door.

Through the mental link she shared with Vincent, she asked him to send Jessie over. She wanted to tell him why, but she wasn't sure just what it was that she had discovered. She just knew it was bad.

By the time Jessie made it to the house and inside, she had cleaned up and bandaged her foot. It would be healed in a couple days, so there was no use worrying about it.

Jessie wore a smile when he walked in, but it was gone the instant he saw her face.

"Ada, what happened?" He asked, Ada having to take a deep breath.

"There was broken glass in the office! It was under the desk where the chair goes. We missed it last time because we didn't think to look there. Why would we? Why would anyone? That's probably why it was still there. No one thought to look under the desk." She rambled rather quickly. Luckily Jessie still managed to follow.

"Wait, wait, wait. Glass under what desk?" He questioned.

"Under the alpha's desk. Broken glass. There's no way he would break something and just leave it. It's dangerous. I cut my foot on it." She showed him the bandage. He looked confused, but also very concerned.

"What does this mean?" He asked, Ada staring at him for a moment.

"I dont know." She replied at length.

That night, Jessie and Ada snuck out again. They were headed back to where the body of the girl was. They planned on fully digging her up this time. There had to be something they missed that told them more about what happened to her, and maybe it would tell them why the Alpha was missing and why there was broken glass in his office.

They shifted into their wolf forms after they climbed the wall. They ran through the forest to where the body was buried under the snow. It wasn't there. They shifted back and walked up to the hole where the body had been. Someone had dug her up and took the body.

"This is bad, right?" Jessie asked, Ada bidding her head in responce.

"Yea. Whoever did this knows we found her." She said to him and they shared a look before they shifted and ran back for the compound. Once there they shifted again and got dressed, surprised to see a lot of lights on and they could see people mulling about. Everyone was asleep when they left.

Someone noticed them and stepped away, staring. Others noticed the movement and did the same, clearing a path for the two of them all the way to the front of the main house. There, standing alone among all of the people, was the Beta of the pack. Ada gritbher teeth and she felt Jessie tense beside her. He had come to a similar conclusion, she knew.

"You see! I told you! She has been sneaking out to give the rogues information on us! She should never have been trusted! She needs to be jailed and she must answer for her crimes!" He said to the large gathering. Jessie seemed like he wanted to say something, but Ada put her hand on his arm.

"What exactly are my crimes?" She asked. He turned his eyes her way and she could see the hunger in them. She had seen that look before and knew exactly what was happening. He knew he had won. He just had to make the final strike.

"The disappearance of one of our members and the alpha." He said to her. There was a dark glee in his eyes, even if his face showed anger.

Ada leveled an unimpressed look on him and folded her arms across her chest.

"What evidence do you have to support this?" She asked and she could see he was surprised, but his it well.

"We were just about to go check your room. What do you think we will find there?" A satisfied grin came to his face, though she could also see rage building behind his eyes. She wondered if it because she was not reacting the way he wanted her to.

"Most likely the frozen body that you put in there." She replied. His composure slipped a little, butbshencontinued before he could say anything.

"The body of the missing girl. Then one that you killed in the office of the Alpha so you could frame me." The crowd around them became alive with whispers. The Beta looked ready to explode, Ada was calm and looked at him with disdain.

"What did you do with the alpha?" She asked, feeling Vincent push his way through the crowd to get to her. As soon as he stepped out the Beta locked his eyes on the younger male.

"Vincent! Your mother and father are missing. Surely you have noticed! This rogue here has done something with them and killed that poor girl to cover it up!" He said to him. Vincent reached down and entwined his finger's with Ada's. She felt her heart leap in her chest and heat rush to her cheeks He was taking her side without ever having hear what she had to say. Their bond was too strong for the Beta to get between them.

"Ada would not be careless and leave a body lying around to be found. She's too well trained for that." He stated flatly.

The beta growled at the both of them and took a step toward them. However, both Jessie and Zack flanked them. Many members from the other packs also stepped behind them. The whole group split and shifted. Most of those gathered were behind Ada and Vincent. The rest were behind the Beta.

"Do you really plan to start a civil war here and now? With rogues at the gates?" Vincent growled. The Beta glared at him.

"Rogues brought here by your mate. Everything was peaceful until she showed up. Now most of the leaders of this pack are missing and you are siding with the one responsible." He snapped.

As if on cue, howls could be heard outside the walls and gasps and whispers of fear broke out through the crowd.

"She led them right back to us! If everyone was still asleep we would all be slaughtered!" He snapped.

"But they are not. They are all awake and we can fight this." Vincent countered. The Beta growled deeply.

"You can fight this war alone, Vincent. I'm not about to die for a rogue." He glared at Ada, who simply stared at him. She was not afraid of him. He was not even close to the most powerful wolf that had stared her down. He was an annoyance with aspirations of power. With him out of the way she could help Vincent find his parents and they could push the rogues out.

The group with the beta left. They were going back to the Beta's home. Ada knew they were going to conspire against the rest of them, but at the moment it didn't matter.

"We have to find your parents. Have everyone spread out and search the compound." Ada said to Vincent, who turned to look at her.

"You think their still alive?" He asked, Ada nodding her head.

"Yes. But not here." She replied. Vincent looked at her confused, but she just kissed him. She then brought him, Zack and Jessie to the front gate. She knew what the howl from before meant. They wanted to meet. They were just not going to meet who they were expecting.
