Akari looks at me with an eerie gaze that pierces my very soul. She's been doing this every day since I've been training under her. Her eyes go from top to bottom and analyze my every move. After a month of just mastering [Inner Dimension], I finally ask her why she's been doing it. Her eyebrows seem to rise as her eyes widen in a surprised expression. Akari looked surprised when she heard my words, but her face immediately turned silly as it has been.
" Hahaha, so you've noticed what I've been doing for the past month," Akari says as her eyes turn sharp. I've gotten somewhat used to her weird facial changes that it doesn't bother me. I have a stern look on my draconic face as I nod to her. She shakes her head as she briefs why she had always had that look. " Ehehe, I was just intrigued by how much you about dragons, but you seem to know less than a baby. You don't even know how to fly yet! Ahaha, you're still akin to an infant learning their first words."
I keep a straight face as I try my best not to look out of place. Sweat seemed to be rolling down my face as I heard her words.
'It would be too shocking if Akari knew I was born just three months ago.' I said in my head as I try to stop sweating profusely.
I let out a small chuckle as I didn't want to go into detail about how I was less than three months old.
Akari laughs as she was unobservant to what was taking place. " Since you already have [Inner Dimension] set in your mind, it wouldn't hurt to have a few flying lessons." She says as a mischievous grin formed on her face. Her two hands covered a sinister laugh that came out of her mouth. She was planning even more torturous training! She knew no bounds when it came to sucking the life out of Locke.
Locke gulped as his wings trembled from fear. 'Those poor things haven't been used once!' Locke's face darkened as he knew misery was about to strike. He knew pleading and testifying against Akari would be for naught. He knew there was no way of escaping Akari's wrath. He had to be determined to perfect this to Akari's standard, backing out wasn't an option. Faced with this fact, Locke raised his dragon head and had a determined look.
" It would seem you're ready for this challenge. Keep in mind that it won't be simple at all!" Akari bellowed from afar. She had cast concealment magic on both of them as they made their way out of the cave. Akari put her hand on the leg of Locke as she teleported both of them to a high peak. They were in a place that looked like a wasteland barren of life.
" We're here! You'll be learning to fly right here," she screams as strong winds muffled her voice. This place was the opposite of the ideal place for flying. These winds were so strong that they could probably push off anyone below level 500.
'Maybe she had wanted to challenge me?' I thought as I looked over the harsh environment below me. We were at least 10000 feet in the air on some gigantic structure. The sun was blaring a radiant heat that did not help one bit.
" Well, this is it! Have fun down there!" Akari screams as she kicks me off without warning. My face contorts as I wanted to reprimand her for kicking me so suddenly. Alas, I had not time to worry or think about such things right now. What I had to do right now was save myself from some excruciating pain or even death. I calmed myself down as I focused on the situation. I had to think fast! How was I going to be able to fly and save my ass from death? Just flapping my wings wouldn't work as proven by me trying countless times before. I was quickly nearing the halfway point between the ground and the peak. I light bulb lit in my head as I suddenly had a brilliant idea that may work in saving me.
Locke closed his eyes as he began concentrating on his mana pool. He moved his thoughts to a tiny portion of it as he began manipulating it to rise. It was slowly but surely pouring into his wings. Locke felt a sense of euphoria rushing through him like a jolt of electricity. He quickly let go of such thoughts and now focused on flying. He once again flapped his wings in the air. This time it had worked for the first time! Due to his mana, his wings were many times stronger than before. This strengthening allowed for better flexibility when using his flappers.
[Mana Strengthening: 4] *NEW*
[Flight: 3] *NEW*
Locke was soaring through the sky as he just escaped crashing down to his death. Locke turned his head up and made his way to the top. He was going to regroup with Akari since he no reason to stay in the air. He landed his feet on the cliff as he saw Akari sitting on a log lazily. She was dazing off while he fought for his life to survive from falling to death. Akari turns her head toward Locke and smiles. "Haaaa, I knew you would've been able to do it..." She says in a nonexcited voice. A yellow glint flashed in her eyes as she thought of something. She sprung up in the air immediately and teleported Locke back to the cave.
Her eyes flash with excitement as she looks over at grazed at the draconic form of Locke. " It's time I teach you how to transform!" She says in a tone that sounded more like a command than anything else. There was no way you could ever predict how she feels at one moment to the next.
" Aha... I'm quite tired right now, maybe later." Locke says with a mix of worry and exhaustion. He had just flown for the first time in his life. He was no master in preserving his body's energy yet. It was no wonder why he was so tired right now.
Akari had puppy dog eyes as if pleading for him to let her teach it to him now. Locke could only sigh and let her do what she wanted. He gave up protesting the minute he saw that expression Akari had. There was no fighting in his current state.
A look of excitement came to Akari's face as she saw Locke's sigh of defeat. She urgently wanted to teach him how to transform into something more humanoid. This sudden feeling came when she thought of never being able to cuddle her little brother. It was too much of a worry that she had to fix it somehow.
