Unavoidable Misfortune

"Xiqin, have a seat," Mo Jinghan sat in the study and said to Su Xiqin who was walking in.

Su Xiqin sat down at the side, and he continued. "Xiqin, I know you've had it hard these years."

"Not really, Father," Su Xiqin said with her eyes looking at the floor. She actually knew what Mo Jinghan meant; she had been taking care of the child alone while the news of Mo Xigu's affairs went around.

However, if he knew that Jintian wasn't his grandson, she couldn't imagine how the situation would turn into.

"Xiqin, I know that Xigu's acting like this because of me, because I wasn't able to give him a complete family so he's grown up to be like this. Xiqin, please don't blame him."

Su Xiqin wasn't going to blame anyone now, and all she wanted was to have a divorce with Mo Xigu. However, she couldn't mention it because it would make it more impossible to happen if she had ever said anything to Mo Jinghan.

"Xiqin, you and Jintian have been living on your own for a while now. For the sake of me and the family, come back home!"

Mo Jinghan suddenly made a request and quickly explained.

"It's not good for the child if you and Xigu always live on separate terms."

Su Xiqin finally raised her eyes and said, "Father, I think it will be worse if Jintian sees numerous strangers coming in and going out from the house. I think right now is good, since it wouldn't leave Jintian with any bad impressions."

Mo Jinghan knew who the "strangers" Su Xiqin were talking about; they were other women.

What else more could Mo Jinghan say after this? Su Xiqin also saw his powerlessness, but she didn't want to continue on the topic, so she said, "Father, I saw Xixue a few days ago."

Mo Jinghan suddenly froze as Su Xixue's name along with Su Yao, had given him a painful experience that was hard to let go of.

"But I didn't see my mother." Su Xiqin added at last.

Su Xiqin organized her emotions after she left the study. When she stepped into the living room entrance, she heard Mo Xigu's voice as if he was talking to someone on the phone. He's back as well? Probably Mo Jinghan asked him to come back.

She walked into the living room and saw Mo Xigu standing in front of Jintian as he stared at the toy in Jintian's hands.

Su Xiqin quickly walked over and said, "Jintian, stop playing and put away your toys. Let's go pick out some fruits in the garden over there."

"Okay," Mo Jintian glanced at Mo Xigu and replied.

Mo Xigu sneered at Su Xiqin's nervous expression as if he was mocking her.

Mo Jinghan, who walked over and saw Mo Xigu, complained quietly. "It's certainly hard to ask you to come home these days."

Mo Xigu didn't look like he cared as he sat down on the sofa and watched Su Xiqin as she brought Mo Jintian across the room to the outside.

"Father, I'm going to take a walk with Jintian in the garden," Su Xiqin said to Mo Jinghan before she left.

Mo Jinghan's expression hardened completely after Su Xiqin had left with Mo Jingtian.

"From now on, cut all your ties with your affairs," he ordered.

"Didn't you teach me these yourself?" Mo Xigu sneered.

Bam! Mo Jinghan suddenly slammed the table and widened his eyes as he raged.

"You unfilial son!"

Mo Xigu ignored his father's rage and sneered again. "Dad, this is what I learned from you. Now that I think about it, this is how men should live, and it's a way to enjoy life."

Mo Jinghan was speechless and wondered if this was his karma.

Meanwhile in the garden, Su Xiqin stared at Mo Jintian, who had his head down, and she could sense that the little guy was somewhat unhappy.

"Mo Jintian, what's wrong?"

"Nothing! I just feel like Daddy doesn't like me." Mo Jintian pouted his lips and looked pitible.

Su Xiqin paused her steps and squatted down in front of him. "That's not true; maybe he's just in a bad mood."

Mo Jintian looked skeptical as he stared at Su Xiqin with his big round eyes.

The phone in Su Xiqin's pocket suddenly rang, and she let go of Jintian as she took out her cellphone. The caller ID was an unfamiliar number, so she waited a while before answering the phone.

"Hello Ms. Su, this is Shao Zhengyang." A voice with clear pronunciations sounded through the phone.

She quickly ran through her contacts and networks in her mind and finally remembered who he was after a few seconds. "Hello, Lawyer Shao."

"Ms. Su, you sure have a great memory."

"It would be hard to forget one of the top lawyers of S City. Are you calling because the cost for the car repair is out?"

All Su Xiqin could think of was that, or else Shao Zhengyang wouldn't have any other business with her.

"It's such a pleasure to interact with someone smart like you, Ms. Su. Yes, the cost for the car repair is out, and the total is 120K."

Su Xiqin cussed in his mind when she heard 120K. What the heck? I can buy a brand new car with that much money.

"Ms. Su, the cost is a bit much, but that's because Sir Bai's Bentley was a limited edition, and the components are top notch. I hope you could understand that."

"However, I do think that it's too much for you to handle all the cost. How about we meet once more to discuss it in detail?" Shao Zhengyang suggested.

Obviously, Su Xiqin couldn't pay all of the cost, but having thought of what she had said back then about being fully responsible, she struggled to answer.

Maybe Shao Zhengyang noticed her struggle on the other end, he said, "Ms. Su, to be honest, this accident wasn't completely your fault, so if we could sit down and discuss this over, it would help a lot. I've talked to Sir Bai about this as well, and he also agrees."

Su Xiqin pondered for a while and agreed as she thought that it should be discussed in detail a bit further.

They agreed to meet this afternoon, and Su Xiqin decided that she should leave after lunch.

When Su Xiqin and Little Milk Bun went back to the living room with a few guava in their hands, Mo Jinghan and Mo Xigu got into a heated argument as both of their faces rushed red.

"I purposely postponed a client's appointment to come here, and I didn't come to listen to your lessons. If we are eating, then let's just eat. If you have something else you want to say, then I got other things on my hands."

Mo Xigu finished and then walked towards the door with a cold expression.

Mo Jinghan was already mad, and Mo Xigu's attitude was adding fuel to a fire. He grabbed a tea cup and threw it in Mo Xigu's direction when Su Xiqin just happened to walk back into the living room. The tea cup flew across the room and hit Su Xiqin's forehead right on.

Blood instantly started to drip down her forehead as she heard someone call out.

"Mama."

The panicked voice was from Mo Jintian.

When Bai Yansen was visiting someone in the hospital on Saturday, he happened to catch a glimpse of a familiar small figure as he walked past the corridor for Emergency, and he couldn't help but stop walking.
