Wanted To Cry!

Ready to face the battle, Long Jia prepared and got up when the Empress gave her permission.

"Come here Xia'er, let me take see how beautiful my Wen'er's wangfei is." the Empress said. Anyone who listened would say how lucky Prime Minister's di daughter was to get a loving mother-in-law. Only someone who had been stabbed in the back could see through her facade.

Long Jia got up and went towards the Empress. There was neither delight nor contempt because there was no reason to feel such emotion. The Empress held her hand and made her sit beside her.

"It's been such a long time since I last saw you. You were so adorable! Who knew you would turn out like this!" How could an Empress speak without throwing daggers? On top of that in a hall filled with foxes!

But Long Jia was no less. How could she not understand what the Empress was implying? Instead of being furious at being called stupid, Long Jia just smiled and said " Yes! Who would have thought that I would become the daughter in law of the most beloved Empress? It is such an honour!" The Empress smiled and laughed along with Long Jia.

The anger she felt, could not be described in words. When did this stupid become so good with words? But she was not the Empress if she couldn't even withstand this little counterattack. The Empress patted Long Jia's hand.

" Now that you are my Wen'er's wangfei, you must not shame him and keep yourself within the boundaries set."

"Of course."

"I hope you heed my advice." Otherwise, the consequences will be unbearable, is what was left unsaid.

Long Jia heard her warning loud and clear. Not only Long Jia, but everyone in the hall also understood that she was a wangfei in name only.

Long Jia wanted to cry. She desperately wanted to say that she didn't covet her son and wanted to live a peaceful life. She just wanted to run away from here, and go back to the prince's palace where no one would heed her presence.

" Well, it's getting quite late. You must be tired." The Empress said, even though it was not even lunchtime yet. Long Jia was thankful. At least they had something in common - they couldn't stand the presence of each other. " You may retire."

After hearing the magical sentence, Long Jia got up as elegantly as possible to hide her hurry and exited the hall.

While Long Jia was busy escaping the Empress, everyone had already put her in their list of the dead. Some wanted her dead, while some wanted to see how long she will live.
