"You're mocking me again." Gu Xiao Xiao pouted.

After they left campus, they came to stroll around the busier and more luxurious areas of City B.

The financial district is this city's fastest-growing area in terms of wealth as well as the area that has the highest concentration of financial and engineering knowledge. It is the city's, or even the country's most innovative and fastest-growing area. Feng Yang without a doubt is one of the corporations that reside here.

"Chu Xiao Xi, I have tutoring after work today, so there is no need to pick me up."

"Okay, that sounds good. I have some errands to run today anyway. Be careful on your way back. If anything comes up, call me."

"Okay." Gu Xiao Xiao nodded and walked into her company. It was a busy day and by the end of the night, she got onto the elevator, exhausted. Then, in the leisure area on the first floor, she ran into Chu Yi Chen.

Feng Yang Corporation has more than 20 floors. Though every floor has a rest area for employees, only the first floor has a designated area where employees spend their leisure time chatting. It is also an area that is used to meet and entertain clients.

Chu Yi Chen was sitting in the corner where the glass window meets the floor. Though there were lots of others in the area, Gu Xiao Xiao picked him out right away.

He wore a black suit with a white dress shirt. It was a simple and clean outfit but because he was wearing it, it looked different and attention snatching.

Gu Xiao Xiao thought of herself as someone who is pretty cultured and has seen a lot. After all, in today's society, handsome men and beautiful women can be found through the click of a search button.

However, the man before Gu Xiao Xiao still made her exclaim. He stood out far too much, he was far too magnificent…

The first time they met was in an awkward situation where Gu Xiao Xiao wanted very much to hide and so she couldn't really check him out. Last time at school, because Chu Xiao Xi was there, she also didn't dare to look at Chu Yi Chen for too long in case Chu Xiao Xi would notice something.

But now, she stood not far from him and gawked at him without shifting her gaze even a tiny bit.

His head was lowered and he was looking at some kind of document. There was a cup of coffee on the table and he was doing his own thing ignoring what was going on around him. Suddenly, as if he had felt something, he raised his head and looked in Gu Xiao Xiao's direction.

Gu Xiao Xiao had no time to hide and could only stand there dumbly, staring at him. Chu Yi Chen saw her frightened reaction and signaled for her to come chat.

To have been caught in the act, Gu Xiao Xiao had no choice but to go. She walked to Chu Yi Chen and asked in a soft voice, "Are you involved with my company's business?"

"Involved with the business? I guess so. Are you doing your internship here?"

"Yeah, I started not too long ago." Gu Xiao Xiao nodded and stared right into Chu Yi Chen's ocean-deep eyes. After moments of hesitation, she finally mustered up her courage and spoke, "When do you have time? Let's… let's get a divorce."

The moment Gu Xiao Xiao spoke, she felt a coldness from Chu Yi Chen. Staring into his shiny but cold eyes, Gu Xiao Xiao felt her courage slip away.

"Is marriage a joke to you? Get married when you want to, get divorced when you want to…" Chu Yi Chen looked at Gu Xiao Xiao expressionlessly and asked her in a low voice.

"No, that's not what I meant and that's not what I think." Gu Xiao Xiao was a little nervous, "But you are Chu Xiao Xi's brother. I can't…"

"Can't what?" Looking at Gu Xiao Xiao, who stopped after making half her statement, Chu Yi Chen pursued.

Because their names shared the character "Xiao", they started to chat and before they knew it, they became great friends. All these years, Chu Xiao Xi had helped Gu Xiao Xiao out a lot. Gu Xiao Xiao remembers all of it.

Gu Xiao Xiao doesn't want her to feel like she was a bird who wanted to reach high and become a phoenix and that was why she purposely got close to her family. This was why the whole situation between Chu Yi Chen and her made it difficult for her to know how to explain things. She was even terrified that Chu Xiao Xi would find out.

"Our family backgrounds are too different. I am not good enough for you." Gu Xiao Xiao responded and lowered her head. In a voice that was almost too low for Chu Yi Chen to hear, she continued slowly, "Your family background is well-off right? If you are not a pimp, then you can find any girl you want. There is no need to waste your life with me."
