" lThe Hunters"

CHAPTER 1

I was running as fast as my legs could carry me. It feels like forever. Just running. Nothing more, nothing less. After all this time they finally found me. Christian, Clark, and Cooper. They always eventually find me. All I see is the blures of trees and branches as I run for my life. The amazing smell of pines and leafs hit my face along with the gentle breeze.

I trip on a log and cut my calf on a small rock.

"Mmmm ...oww!!"  The smell of blood fills my nose for a moment then disappears. I try to stay as silent as possible. I have to take the time and look where I am. It's something like a dream, something you never want to wake up from. Trees are swaying with the wind peacefully, Birds chirping, and very faint in the background you can hear the hunters getting closer and closer.

I rip off some of my shirt and wrap the cut.

"Oww. *sighs* I wish I never knew them." I whisper to myself. Making myself get up and keep going makes me feel a little better but I know they will find me here. Me ending up like this, who knows what could happen next. My leg only slows me down, so I know they will find me here for sure.

(later… it's about dusk now)

I feel as if I haven't moved an inch. Yet I have walked so far, I just need a break.

"Ughhhhhh!" I slump next to a tree and catch my breath. My mind starts to wonder if the hunters are still coming.. Just as I think I lost them earlier, I hear Christian's voice from afar.

" I knew she came this way! See , all you had to do was listen to me and I told you we would find her." As he said that I realised I was leaving a trail of dripping blood from my leg, but not down my leg, but off the cloth. I jumped up and started to limp as fast as I could holding the cloth so it stops the trail and buys me some time to run.

"I know. I know. I lost the trial of Clark. She was probably losing too much blood so my guess is she wrapped it up." said Christian with a bit of anger in his voice.

"Or, she could have wanted us to get this far, and maybe we have gotten too close so she will start the trail up again when there is some distance between us." Clark said in one of her tones. I bet you she is in one of her moods too. She usually always is.

        I keep running as their voices fade in the distance. Moments later I find an old house. Oh thank god I might be able to hide from them this time. I rushed to the house like I never got hurt and only to hope to find food and water.

     As I try to open the door, something flies by my head and I just stand there like a deer looking at headlights. I take a small step from what looks like an arrow that grazed the side of my face, piercing my ear.

"Pssst!" I slowly turn my head to the sound. I don't see anything though.

"Hey ...Psst!!" I am really getting uneasy as I am wasting time looking for the person making this sound. I just turn back around and try to figure out how to get the door open. The door knob is rusted shut.

CHAPTER 2

"Hey...pssssssssst...over here!" I then look again and see no one. The voice sounds familiar but not  the hunters' voices. I look furiously for the man.

"Where are you? I don't see you." I whisper back still looking for him.

"Right here...I am waving my hand!" he whispers. As I am scanning the forest I see him. He waves for me to come to him. As I get closer I realise who the person is. IT'S MONTIE!! Montie was like a brother to me and then all of a sudden he left and the hunters came and tried to kill me. I rush towards him and we have a long and warm hug..         

   "Where did you go? You left me! The hunters tried to take me Monite!"  We let go of each other and he gave me nothing but a sigh, then a long look, then another big hug. But not an answer.

"I know you want to know why I left and why I am here but I have no explanation for you right now. But what's important is that you are safe and I am here now ok?" he gave another look.

" I am sorry I left Ashlyn." Before he could say anything else I gave him a big hug.

" Don't do it again ok?" I took a step back.

"Lets go, we need to get inside the house, " he nodded and we went to the back door and montie busted it open. We went inside and I immediately started looking for food and something to drink.

Monitor went into another room and I wasn't paying attention to the footsteps behind me. A hand went over my mouth and arm around my body so I couldn't fight back.

"Long time no see Ashlyn." I now know its Christein and he holds a tight grip on me and I try to lose his grip on me. But there is no use. He takes me out into the woods once more and to an old classic jeep, into the passenger seat.

"I will take you away from them ok? I was actually trying to  find you.

       They were just with me and doing their job. They don't even know I have found you here. They thought I lost the trail of you. I lied so I could take you away." Christian looked down for a moment and sighed. I didn't want to say anything.

       I mean there is nothing to say to him. He goes around to the other side and gets in the car. " Wait! Montie was there. I will not leave him here!" I look at Christian and I start to get out of the car. He leans over me and shuts the door and locks it.

       " The other hunters will be here any moment and once they get here they will kill you both. He's long gone ashlyn. I am sorry. It's just me and you now." he sighs once again and we drove off.  I tear up. I knew this day was going to come...

I drift to sleep and dream.

:I wake up in the field of grass, it sways back and forth. There is no pain. Only the sound of waves. The wind is a light breeze.  The sun is only warm and feels nice on my face.  As I stand, my hair sways along with the grass. I see someone in the distance. I step closer. This person also takes one step closer. More steps closer and this person is familiar to me. Now I know something great will happen. But only in my future. My mother. That's who it is, she's a lot younger than I remember. I go higher but instead she fades away like mist in the wind. I look up. My eyes following the mists of the most beautiful woman i've ever seen.:

   I wake up to christian caring for me in a cabin.

"Are we safe now?" I ask as he carries me inside and lays me down.

    " We are. Just until your leg heals. Then we will find a better place to hide." he takes off the cloth I wrapped my leg in. I look at him.

  "I know. You have a lot of questions, but you need rest. We can talk when you get up. I will go make some food. Try not to move your leg too much you don't want to get it infected. I'll be right back." he walks into the kitchen. I can hear the "bangs" of cabinets and the "clanks" of glass.  Moments later he comes in and has a sandwich with a glass of tea.

    "Here you need to eat." I grab the tray and set it next to me besides the bed. I bring the glass of tea to my mouth. Oh how refreshing it is. The nice cold liquid flows down and into my stomach.

      "Eat up and just set the tray on this stool. Then get some rest, you're gonna need as much as you can get." he walks to the door. I want to ask why he is helping me, but I know he will clear everything up tomorrow. I finished up eating the amazing sandwich and set the tray on the stool like Christian said. I slowly lay in the bed and close my eyes. I drift soundly to sleep.

CHAPTER 3

   A couple of weeks pass, then a month. Christian takes care of me. I slowly fell in love with him. I still have to keep my guard up though….just in case he betrays me, like everyone one did, even my closest friend, Kya. Ever since they set me up and Montie left, they tried to kill me.

Lucky for me I got away. They always find me. Only because of Christian, he is the tracker, no matter where you are in this world. He could find you, Clark is the killer, she was trained by the best in the world, and last but not least, Cooper, he is there lil spy. Cooper can hack anything too. I don't actually see the use of him because Christian can find you unless they need to get into a place that's heavily guarded and sacred.

     I woke up. I just stare at the ceiling. Christian opens the door with a tray of breakfast. I get up then take the tray, sit down then eat.

     "It's time. Pack clothes, food, water, and whatever else you need. I'm going to get the car ready." he smiles then walks out.

      As we rode in the car I realise he never told me why he helped me and what actually happened.

"Why?" I speak for the first time to him in a month. He stops the car. Looks over at me.

"I thought you would never speak to me again…." he said, still staring. I sigh.

"Why? Why did you take me? Why did you help me? Why did you all do this to me?" I said looking down and thinking back to everything that happens. I thought about how one day was so normal ...then everything changed within a matter of just 1 hour.

 "It's just ...we never ...it was not supposed to be like this. We were never supposed to kill anybody, it was all Damonds doings. He was always wanting to have people like Clark, Cooper and I. Then he found a way to control us, use us against our will. He made us kill families. It started with just men he hated. Then women...the kids...I never signed up for that. When Kiya ended up with him..i knew she wanted you dead."  he put his foot back on the petal.

     "Why did she want to kill me?" I looked at him.         "She wanted to kill you because she thought you were getting in the way of her and I. So she joined up with Damond."

"But I didn't even really know anything about you. She would never talk about you. Never. The only thing I knew about you, was what you looked like and that you were fun to hang with. She didn't tell me much." I sighed. Silence fell upon us, so I thought of everything. Even what I might become over the years of my life. It came to me that when I was young, I was stubborn and childish. When the day everyone turned on me I became aware of what happened. It's all because of a girl who was jealous of me getting in the way of something that would and will never happen.

     I watch all the trees and grass pass. Then I see something. Running as fast as christian is driving. It has an animal type finger.

"Christian look! There's something over there!" I look at him then look back. When I look over there it's gone.

"What! What are you talking about?" he said with a confused look. He stops the car. I open the door and scan the woods.

"Sigh", I get back in the car and shut the door. It's probably just my imagination.

"Are you ok Ashlyn?" I feel him looking at me. I say nothing. He sighs and gets back in the car and we were off again. I look back at the window. THERE IT IS AGAIN!!! It's there…..but it's just me playing tricks on myself. Like always. I just know it is.

    Just something is not right...something off...it doesn't feel right. The atmosphere seems a little...weird. I don't know, just enjoy the nice view of the trees Ashlyn. It's all over.

  We arrived at a small camp. It's abandoned though. We found a place to spend the night.

"I'm going to find some food. I'll be back shortly. Also could you maybe get a fire started?" he gave me a 'please' look.

"Sure! I will find wood and something to start the fire with. Then we can meet back here." I start to go but he stops me.

"Be careful. I don't want you to hurt again and I have to baby you for a month and a half…...ok?" he smirks. I say nothing and give him a smirk back. After all this time the one and only thing that gets under his skin is if I don't respond or say anything. So I do it to get him back.

    I follow a trail into the woods, just gathering sticks, twigs, and whatever else I can burn. Something shiny catches my eyes. I look and follow the shine. I picked up a beautiful crystal. Its colors remind me of something I have dreamt about. It had purples, blues, and pinks, with red here and there. I go to pick it up but when I touch it everything goes dark. I drop all the wood but the crystal floats in front of me. I stare at it. It comes closer. Now I'm wearing it like I got shot in my chest. I fell back.

CHAPTER 4

"CHRISTIANN!!! HELP ME PLEASE!!!" I yell but nothing. It's so dark only the crystal shines. Everything gets lighter but only fog stands in my way of sight. The fog is thick. I start walking. The fog turns into a mist and makes my clothes along with my hair damp. The mist starts to disappear. My eyes hurt from the warm sun. When my eyes adjust I look to what is very plain. Just nothing but land. No trees, grass, or water.

       I'm up on a hill. The crystal is shining bright. The shine causes grass to grow, trees to grow, flowers to bloom, water comes out of no wear, the air goes from smelling like dead rotten skunk to air that's so fresh and clean. The type of air that you never want to breath out, it's so fresh and clean.

         The land changes into an amazing landscape. It's like a dream. It feels like one big dream that you would never want to wake up from. My body moves like i have no control through the forest as I walk up to a boat, I hear something behind me. I turn around. I see the bush moving.

"Hello?" I walk towards the big, lush, green bush. And out comes this beautiful lil...pup? It looks at me, then rubs its soft silk furry head against me.



"Well hello there beauty." I picked up this lil pup and its so soft and light as a feather.

"Thank you miss." the pup says  i was so surprised that all i could say was-

"Aww how cute are you! Wear did you come from?" I said as the pup looked at me with the sky blue eyes.

"You helped recreate this world. Miss, what's your name?"

"My name is Ashlyn. Wait what do you mean I recreated this world? What is this place?" Was it in the crystal?

"You found the crystal. It's yours until you don't want it anymore. You will have it inside of you until then. In your world it will just be a rock you found, and yes you could come back anytime you wish. The only thing is that you can have it taken. If a bad human has it, they can make this place the opposite of what you have made it. They can make me a weapon to destroy humankind." That's great for now.

"What happens to my body? Does it disappear? What shall I call you?"

"Well you shall call me Sam. Don't worry about your body. You disappear from your world but not completely, you have a spare body. Its from this world though…so it's different.`` I put Sam down and started to follow him on this trail and more things began to grow.

"What do you mean about my body being different?"I wonder. Is that an animal? Or maybe I look like the galaxy colored crystal? It could be both.

"You won't be in human form. You'll be in a different form. I don't actually know what you will look like, but I can tell you one thing… you will find the dusk demon. He will become your mate. If he falls for you then that's good for the both of us."

"What do you mean?"

""You shall find out soon enough.`` We just walked. My mind is going and going about all this. I wonder who this dusk guy is.

      What does this dusk guy look like? Is gonna look human? Maybe an animal. Could be both. Now that would be cool, but what animal? A deer?  Or maybe he scary like a beast?                                        .           

Hopefully he's like the deer cause that would be horrible if he was scary like I imagined. I don't want to get eaten before I can really help all these wonderful creatures out, but I just don't want to get eaten.

We are coming up to a cliff. I walk to the edge. I can only see so much that it fades into darkness. Pitch black. The thoughts in my mind are on going. What about cooper, clark, and all them? Why did this happen to me? Why do I have to be the one to change this world? Am I really a good person? These are the questions that I will find out. I am only hoping.

CHAPTER 5

      We eventually ended up near a stream, the warm air blows against the stream and makes a cooler fresh breeze. The smell is sweet but not too sweet. The pup is still strutting along with his happy self. He seems happy about me being here but something seems off. Not like usual. This seems better. This is a good feeling.. I walk off to the water.

"Wear you going?" the pup follows.

"The water wants me." I don't even mean to be going to the water. The good feeling grows stronger. I stop at the edge of the water and reach my hand out to the water.

"Nooo dont do that!!" the pup pulls the back of my shirt. I fall backwards.

"Why can't I touch the water?" I stand. I wipe off all the dirt from my pants.

"You have to be reborn first. If you touch that water, you could get hurt."  I stand back and look at the water. I am thirsty. My throat is dry.

"I am thirsty though…" I look at the pup. The pups eyes widen. I look behind me and this cloud of dark dust forms behind me I walk backwards and keep my eyes on the dark dust that turns into a mist.as the mist fades, a being appears.

 A man appears...well half of a man…

"Is your name Ashlyn?" i turn and start running, the pup chases me.

"HE IS THE DUSK KING!" the pup yells. I stop. I turn around and the dusk king stands only feet away. I huff and puff.

     "Hello love...sorry to scare you." he says calmly. Wait he is the guy im am supposed to be with? Hes way hotter than I thought. I giggle.

The dusk king has a confused expression on his face.

"I am sorry, I just didn't expect you to be….. To be…" I try to find the words.

" What?" he said as he stepped closer.

"I just imagined you different." he gives me a look.

I smile.

"I just didn't know what to expect." I giggle. He gives me a look and I look at the ground with a smile on my face.

"Oh...well miss Ashlyn.." I cut him off.

"You can just call me Ash."

"Ok miss...i mean Ash...will you come with me?"  he holds out his hand. I look at him for a moment. My life was...not perfect, but now it's...crazy weird. Can it get any better? I grab his warm hand.

   Black mist surrounds me and the dusk king. Everything feels weird. It's like being in the middle of a tornado. The only difference is that it's not a tornado. It's with a Dusk King in an entirely different world. This feeling of being with him makes me forget about Christian, Clark, and Cooper. I only miss Montie. Even though I fell in love with Christian...I feel different from the dusk king. He makes me feel better than christain ever did.

The mist fades and we are at a palace. It's beautiful, Breathtaking. The dusk kings castle maybe…

"My love...do you like it?" I don't even feel bothered when he says that. I look at him and smile. He nodded and grabbed my hand once more and took me to his palace.

  Once inside, you come into a big galaxy colored room with a big spiral staircase in the middle. Beautiful chandeliers hang from the ceiling.

"Do you like it?" dusk king asks as he lets me wonder.

"It...is…beyond amazing.." I say.

"If you follow me this way I will show you to our room."

" 'our' room?" I said a little bothered.

" Yes, my love. Our room. You are my mate." he smiles and grabs my hand then takes me up the stairs. We reach the top of the stairs and walk into a hallway full of color. There is a door at the end of the hallway. He pulls me towards the door.

"Ladies first.."  he opens the door. The room is full of light but darker than the rest of the house.

"I don't like a light room. I like to sleep in peace." me too. I don't say a word but I go to bed and sit. This bed is the most amazing bed ever. It's not one you sink in and can't move. It's one of those ones that wear you fall asleep faster and wake up with the best moods of all time.

I pull the nice cool blankets back. King comes over and takes my shoes off.

"You need your rest. I need to do a couple of things then I shall be back." he says as he puts the shoes next to the door.

"Wait…" I don't want him to leave for some reason.

" yes love?" I don't say anything. He comes over and sits next to me. I pull him and he lays beside me. He holds me and I peacefully go to sleep. I feel safe with him. I haven't felt that way in a long time.  It feels nice to know I'm safe and not on the run.

"ASHLYN! WAKE UP!" I hear Christians voice. I open my eyes and see him.

" we have to go! Now! They found us!" I get up and the crystal falls out of my pocket. I look at it. I grab a cloth that was in my pocket somehow and I wrap the crystal in it. Christan looks at me.

"What was that?"

"nothing. "

"You will tell me later. Let's go." We ran to the jeep and before we drove off a small puppy came from the woods. It looks like sam. I open the door before we drive off.

"What are you doing?" I grab the pup and close the door.

"Just drive." the pup is shaking so i look at the back. I opened a bag that was packed for this day.

I take out a shirt and wrap the pup in it. The pup looks at me with the same eyes as sam.

"Imma call you sammy." Christian looks at me.

"You're keeping it? We can't keep it."

I look at him.

"Watch me." I look back at sammy, then out the window. There is that one animal figure running along with us. I look in the minor outside of us.

"Christain! they're behind us!" we go faster. He takes a hard turn. Sammy comes undone from the shirt. Then the crystal comes undone from the coth and shines really bright. I grab the coth and grab the crystal. Sammy jumps back in my lap. Touches the crystal and turns into sam.

"Sam?" I say.

" whoaa what is that thing?" christan has a ́wtf ́ expression on his face.

"I am here to help you Ashlyn." Sam says.

"Wait what?" I look at Christain.  

He doesn't know anything either. Clark and Cooper get closer as we look at Sam like he will do something. He just sits there.

"Sam.." I look behind us then back at Sam. Sam turns around and a blue light shines from his chest and the crystal shines. Everything goes from black to white. Then everything slowly fades back. I'm in another world.  

CHAPTER 6

The only thing that is different is that christian is here too.

̈sam why is he here?¨ I say in panic. I didn't want him to be here.

¨ I need him. And so do you.¨ I look at Sam with a confused expression on my face.

̈ but what about dusk king?¨ I say as I feel as if he was all I needed. Why did Sam say that?

¨you shall see my dear. Only time will tell. You shall soon realize why you're actually here darling.̈ sam replies back.

Christian is  speechless. He just shoots me looks.

̈ ̈The crystal...that's what got us here.¨ I will try to explain. He nodded his head. He accepts the fact that he won't understand as we start walking.

The dark dust comes down. I smile and feel happy as I know who it is.

Arms grab me then I see Sam and dusk king.

Christian whispers in my ear.

¨ I'll protect you. Get behind me and when I say, I want...̈ I cut him off and untuck his arms from me.

¨ christian..this is sam. He follows me everywhere, and this here..̈ I say as I show dusk king off.

¨..is the dusk king.¨ I let my arms fall as I feel the dusk king put his hands around me.

¨ hello there...christian..̈ dusk king says in a deep and dominant voice.

           Christian shot the dusk king a look full of jealousy. He then looks at me.

¨ You see christian, I know everything about you. Even the fact that your father and mother was going to leave you behind, and never come back for you..., dusk king said as he loosened his grip on me. Walking toward Chris, he continued..

¨...but then Montie came and took you in. that's when you met ash. You thought she was the most annoying girl,  and you still feel for her. ̈ he said being cocky.

Chris looked embarrassed as I smiled and was happy with the dusk king, MY lover. Even though I barely know him. I felt that I did it in another way. Like in another life...

̈ Is it true? ¨

̈ ̈look chris...it might be better if u got some rest. Let's go to the kasle shall we?¨

¨I think he does need rest. Also maybe Sam could show him the way?¨ I said not wanting him to go through the little tornado thing with me and the king.

No one says a word. King takes me, Chris goes with sam. When we finally get there we all settle down in one big dining area. I sit next to the king with Chris across from me. Sam is on the floor next to the king.

̈ did you now ash, that monite was involved with damond?̈ king said to me with a straight face.

̈ ̈ what do you mean?¨ I say as I process what he said.

̈ ̈the reason Montie left you was because he was involved with christian and his little group of friends.̈ he said in more detail. I sit up in my chair and realize that everything was a lie. Even montie was a lie.

I stood up and just had enough of everything that I have done and been through was just fake, a lie, a mistake. I'm done.

  Hours later I found myself gathered. All my thoughts myself emotionally, and physically. I am ok now. I am ready to stay in this place. I'm never going back to the real word.

I go out of my room to find the king. I want to change into my new body and live here. This is all I have now. Well it's not like I had anything in the first place. In the real world.

    I open the door to find the king standing there. I walk right into his chest. He smells good. It's actually quite comforting. I take a step back then look him in the face.

     ̈ ̈uhh… I need to talk to you about something. I think it's important.¨ I look at him then feel my face get hot. I took a step back then he nodded his head and knew what I was gonna choose to stay here. His face lit up with emotion.

    We walk down stairs and christian is wandering around the palace.  He looks at me,

" So can you try to explain what's happening?" I feel the crystal in my hand. I take a step forward to chris.

" well it's hard to explain, but here I go." I tell him everything I know. Hours go by and he has on look on his face the whole time.  When I'm done, he doesn't say anything.

"Well, I guess that's all then?" he looks at the king.

"Why him?" he asks. As I see his face gather with anger. I realize he's full of jealousy.

" well actually there one more thing that you might wanna know." I say looking at the king for permission. kings okays it with a nod.

"What is it?" Chris askes.

"So I am changing myself, To live here forever." i say as i rub my hands together nervous of what he's going to say. He looks at me with a half smile, walks to the king and just stares for a brief moment.

"Just take care of her." he said. he looks at me then sam. sam walks him out and he is never heard from again.
