The other choices all look great, but I chose [Warrior] as my starting class. Even though I know how to execute moves and which skills are good or not, I haven't "Played" the game before. So, even with my 10+ years of experience with the game, I know for a fact that I will not be bored with it.

'Good.' Now that all of the set up is done, all I have to do is wait.

Duality takes place tens of thousands of years after Ragnarok, where the gods of heaven and hell and the devils of the other world fought. Their battlefield was earth, which they left mangled and ruined.

It has taken millennia for the surviving civilized races to rebuild. But, they prevailed. The determination and resilience showed inspired the gods and demons to give those races their blessings. This finally mended the shattered relationship between the two.

Now, things are back to normal. Alliances, wars, the lot, are occuring, and so heaven and hell gave birth to the "Immortal Souls," which inhabit vessels sent down to upset the balance (mainly for the god's entertainment).

That's our explanation for being here, but now we have to wait. Everybody online right now is in their little room corresponding to their race in their base clothes/undergarments. All players are awarded 100 copper which they can use as they see fit. Be that purchasing weapons and consumables or gearing up without all the health and mana potions.

"*Feew~*" I did a few jumps to get ready.

Everybody was "randomly" (I have a hunch of where I will spawn) teleported to a starting town within the kingdom/empire assigned to their real life country. This time, I would have to use all I have read about the early game to get an advantage over my peers.

*Click*

I dashed straight out of the door that had just unlocked, but paused right as I took my first step on the cobblestone path.

"Woaah!~"

"These graphics!"

"Yeah bro! Even with my shtty internet, this game is like butter!"

"What the- Damn it! I knew it was all a dream!"

"Hahahahaha! I assure you this is real dude! Here, I'll beat you up, then you'll see..."

"Nonononononono!!..."

"""*Chatter~ Chatter~ Chatter~*"""

While everyone marveled at the magical scene they were experiencing with their actual senses, I had gone into a trance.

Unbeknownst to myself (mostly because I was in lala land), my body was maneuvering perfectly through the crowds of players flooding toward the shopping center straight to the towering mountains around 20 kilometers north of the village.

The group of peaks were called "Fury's Den" since all of the beasts there were in a constant state of [Fury]. I know, not all that creative.

Anyways, not many people travel there due to the fearlessness and strength of beasts that spawn there, even if their EXP and loot drops are great. For most, the risk is just too much. However, for some odd reason everything completely ignored me. Even in the forest before it, I was just like a ghost. Not even bumping into a huge green tiger-like creature got a reaction out of it.

I would think it was quite strange.

On the mountain, those furious beasts that would even challenge a dragon, defy the gods if they came too close, square up agains the sun, all of them just let me pass. I was headed to the center of the peaks towards a hole. It looked like the entrance to the underworld, cold and black like the abyss.

Whether you would call it fearlessness or just because I wasn't "conscious," I leapt into that mortifying abyss-like hole like it was a warm pool.

*Rusle*

"...

Mnn! *Cough!~ Cough!~* What the- what the fuck!?!

Where the… Ahhg!!"

I was hit with a stinging pain at my temples as a part of my vision lost the thick fog surrounding it. Last time, when I entered the game, I did almost the same thing, just faster and more direct as I didn't have to escape the wall of players.

In the middle of the pitch black was a podium lit by a small circle of empty soul stones that held within it a familiar item. My signature weapon… well, it had/has no name. At this point, it's only a sharpened slab of metal, more akin to the pillar of an underground bunker's crawl space. The only thing visibly appealing (without counting its actual appearance, which is pretty cool in a way) is the pentagram right above either side of the hilt.

I walked over.

After dusting off my clothes, I grasped the hilt of the untamed Heavy Greatsword.

*Shua~*

"*Cough~ Cough~ Cough~* Damn dust."

*Hummm~* The sword started to shake followed by a small pinching feeling coming from my head.

["Ahhh... Ahh! At last! A successor has grasped my hilt!"] the sword boomed in my head. ["Hmm… you have potential, but do not show enough RAGE to even pick me up! *Tsk~ tsk~*"]

"…"

["Well? Are you going to do anything? If you can't do this much… then you should just give up."]

["... Oooohhh~"]

For a second, I was surprised. Last time, it accepted me immediately, but I figured out the "puzzle" soon enough. I just had to get mad. Luckily for me, I already know how to control that emotion.

Although no sound was made, anything, brainless or not, could tell I was furious. Even the pebbles at my feet were moving away from me. [Hellfire Eyes] were activated unconsciously. Now I appeared even more evil with a slowly turning red fire burned in my eyes.

|[ Alert!

The skill: [Hellfire Eyes] Is evolving!

Due to your rage, your hellfire color has been set as red. The skill is now:

[Hellfury-flame Eyes] <★★★>: (Toggle) Gain infrared vision. Focusing on an enemy will give you +20% damage against them. This skill will evolve later on. [+] ]|

["HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"] the sword roared, actually managing to break my state of rage.

'*Tsk* It's still unstable…' I inwardly cursed my inexperience.

["You're perfect, kid!

Now, all I need you to do is let me stab you, and you'll be able to wield me."]

"Oka- Mmm? Could yo-?"

*Chunk!*

"Mmmphh!"

'I don't remember this! *Cough!*' I didn't have time beforehand to change my pain setting, so it made me keel over. Although I realized that it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

'Damn past me, how did you manage to become so blinded? Did you think; "I deserve this" or something, and forgot about it? Was randomly getting stabbed in the chest at the max pain threshold (which the sword forced me up to) not leave a lasting impact?

Damn stupid brat I was, huh.'

"*Grooaaan~*"

It took me down to a measly 1HP, and all the blood that flowed out of me was sucked into the pentagram on both sides of the sword. This seemed to sharpen it, just a bit. I felt a much better connection to the sword and it became noticeably lighter, enough for me to actually move. I eventually managed to shimmy it out of my chest.

The sword is almost as big as me, so it was a little awkward.

"Uhhg." I exclaimed. Slowly, I lowered myself next to the blade to slowly gather my HP back though the passive gain.

This Item is a heritage artifact, and you will be given the chance to change classes to the [Berserkr], and advanced version of the [Berserker] class. ]|

This Heavy Greatsword is one of the best weapons you can get. Period. Not just due to it's skills or the fact that it grows with you, not even it's ludicrous damage numbers which cross over thresholds, but the fact that it is a heritage artifact.

Heritage artifacts allow you to class change into a unique class. The general playerbase has access to a plethora of choices to change their class into based on their stat distribution, but only the very lucky, wealthy, or powerful have the chance to get a new class unique to them.

Unique classes not only have better skills, but allow you more bonuses for leveling up. All in all, they increase your variety, stats, and arsenal to new heights previously unreachable.
