'Rainy Day'

-The next morning-

About an hour after I woke up, I was approached by Jacob, who seemed to want to talk about something.

"There is something I want to talk about."

'Called it.'

"I did tell you about the world, but I may have forgotten to mention one thing."

'Oh no.'

"I forgot to mention the weather. You've seen the blood moon and a normal rainy day, but there is one... Special... Weather condition that happens irregularly. The Slime Rain."

"Sounds weird. is it even naturally occurring?"

"I assure you that it is, and as you guess, the name says it all. It rains slimes"

"Why did you only tell me about this today?"

"I may have forgotten about it ever happening, since the event is such a rare occurrence. It has not happened for a few years, so I may have been one of the many to forget the existence of the event..."

'It doesn't sound that bad though.'

"The event is very dangerous though, since there is a chance of-"

As Jacob was going to explain to me the main danger of the Slime Rain, we both heard a dull thud on our roof. Which was followed by another. And another. And so on.

Jacob immediately looked out one of the windows, wondering what those sounds were. as he looked outside, his face immediately went a shade lighter than before.

He called out to me, saying only one thing without looking back at me.

"Y- You might want to check this out. W- We might have a problem at the moment."

I immediately ran over to the window, and I widened my eyes at the... Interesting... Scene in front of me.

It was raining slimes. Purple, blue, and green slimes were falling from the sky. And it was both terrifying and beautiful to watch.

I decided that it was terrifying since the slimes were heavily denting my roof with the amount of force they landed with. I ran outside and just looked at the carnage caused by the carpet bombing gelatin blobs.

I knew that my house was not in danger at the moment, so I was only moderately pissed at the slimes.

'They dented my roof. I worked hard on that house. MY house.'

I decided that my best choice was to fight back (Which I had no idea at that time that fighting back is a bad idea during a slime rain), so I summoned my baby slime, who I have yet to name, to my side.

'I really need to give them a name. They cannot go nameless for much longer.'

I turned to my baby slime, and said what was on my mind. While entirely serious.

"They hurt my house, so I'm going to hurt them worse."

The baby slime just nodded at me, seemingly understanding the direness of the situation. It just looked ahead at the slimes slowly forming a horde in the distance.

I was looking for a massacre, and boy will I get one.

I dashed forward, immediately accelerating due to the Hermes Boots, and reached the horde of slimes in about minute.

At that point, I began slashing. I cleaved slime to slime apart, but they just kept coming, like a never-ending horde. It was a scary thought, and I decided to back away from the slimes before I take too much damage from being hit by them.

I checked my health.

I hadn't realized just how much damage I had taken, and I thought back to my decision to break away from the swarm.

'I could've died within that minute.'

It was a humbling thought; being brought down by the weakest monsters. It was a death that I would've been ashamed of, should there be an afterlife.

I decided that full frontal assault was out of the question, so I decided on what my plan B always is, whenever it isn't plan A: Explosives.

I decided to regain some health first though, so I rested for about an hour before I began giving the slimes an explosive crash course on how to die.

-Time since event began: 1 Hour 24 Minutes-

I approached one of the groups of blue slimes straggling behind the main group, and tossed a bomb at them. One seemed to notice, and decided to dive on top of it.

As the bomb exploded, the slime did too. The other slimes survived though, so I guess that slimes have some sort of shock absorbent body.

'Not to self: Slimes are resistant against blunt force trauma.'

I also noticed that the slimes were starting to approach the gel that the 'sacrificial slime' left behind.

I watched as they began absorbing the gel, becoming slightly larger than before.

'Another note to self: Slimes are cannibalistic creatures.'

'Wait, if they are cannibalistic, then why does my baby slime not eat the gel that the slimes left behind? Another question for another day...'

As I was contemplating the possible cannibalistic personality of slimes, I forgot that there were two of them right in front of me.

They both bounced towards me, intent on killing me.

Too bad that would never happen, since my baby slime finally reappeared from wherever it went. It attacked the two slimes, but boy was it a strange way of attacking.

It literally splashed against the other slimes, and stuck to them like glue while wrapping around them like a second membrane. It was weird seeing a blue slime sized baby slime, to be honest.

I was pretty sure that my baby slime was eating them alive, which was kind of creepy if you didn't know that slimes are cannibalistic.

After watching my pet slime eat the two blue slimes, I continued on my slime hunt.

It was rather uneventful except for a few select moments, like when I git hit in the back of the head by a falling green slime.

I would have laughed at that bad luck if it wasn't me getting hit.

Although those select moments were slightly distracting, the massacre must continue.

-Time since event began: 3 Hours 36 Minutes-

I had killed so many slimes by now that it was getting tiring. I decided that now was the best time to take a 10 minute break on slime killing, and my pet slime agreed.

After that 10 minute break, I noticed that there weren't as many slimes in the area as before, which was odd since they were quite literally falling from the sky.

I felt that I should investigate the lack of slime, and I immediately set out to search the forest.

I looked around the forest, and noticed one glaring difference in one area: There was a giant slime with a crown just laying in the middle of an area FILLED with slimes.

There was more slime than plant in that area alone. But that was not the main point of interest.

I looked at the giant slime, and analyzed it. I was both surprised yet not when I saw what it was called.
