The day after my discovery of the acid sea', I decided that it was time for me to go on another mining trip.
And this one won't end up with me fighting another crazy monster. (Hopefully)
I already had everything I needed to make this delve successful, and I won't make the mistake of summoning a 'demon' this time.
I immediately began my search to find a cave entrance.
Luckily there was an entrance near the large dryad treehouse.
'Wasn't this the one I found when I got a slime staff? Good times.'
I looked into the entrance to see if there were any monsters in there.
I saw nothing, so I proceeded to head inside.
As soon as I entered the cave, I noticed one difference from the last one I visited: Monsters.
I immediately ran into a red slime, which was highly aggressive.
I decided to test out the new staff I got since I felt that using the spear seemed like overkill.
I immediately summoned a brittle star, which had the same summon effect as the baby slime.
It immediately flew at the slime and tore through its gelatinous body.
'Note to self: Brittle stars ignore gravity.'
I was not expecting it to act like a ninja star when I summoned it, but I was not disappointed with the effectiveness of the star.
I was slightly disappointed by the lack of exploding slime but realized my thoughts immediately.
'Oh god, I'm beginning to enjoy the explosions.'
I immediately avoided thinking about my newfound enjoyment in explosions and proceeded to head even deeper into the caves.
I slowly headed deeper until I reached a large cliff. I knew that now was the perfect time to test the effectiveness of my hooks underground.
I threw my first hook at the wall opposite of me and proceeded to move from wall to wall, moving progressively deeper.
Around the time I reached the bottom, I began to notice that the walls had turned a dark blue.
'This is new.'
As soon as I thought that, I began to hear a loud, slow thudding sound near me.
I looked in the direction of the sound and noticed something I had never seen before:
A stone golem.
It had a vaguely humanoid body with a glowing blue visor on its face and spikes coming out from several parts of its body.
I decided to see just what it was.
[Granite golem

I whistled in surprise at the high health.
'Damn, that thing is strong for a normal enemy.'
Luckily, my brittle star was still summoned, so it began to attack the golem.
Too bad that it was made out of stone. The brittle star did very little damage, leading to the fight sounding like someone hitting two pieces of flint together.
I chose to end the 'fight' quickly and threw a bomb at the golem.
It threw the bomb back at me.
'It threw it back at me.'
I threw it back at the golem.
It threw it back.
I threw it back.
It exploded.
'That could have ended very differently, but boy am I glad that it ended that way.'
After the impromptu game of high stakes hot potato, I decided that I should get out of this granite cave immediately.
I dashed towards somewhere that wasn't dark purple and ended up somewhere completely green.
I looked around and noted that the entire area was coated in glowing white and blue crystals.
The entire place seemed relatively empty except for a hole that leads to some sort of underground lake.
I decided to look around to see if there were any alternate paths that I could take since I had one thought running through my mind when I saw the hole:
'I am not jumping down a hole that obviously leads to some sort of area boss. I am not stupid enough to fight one boss after the next.'
But I found no alternate pathways. Only the hole in the ground remained to be explored.
I reluctantly did the one thing I didn't want to do: I jumped down.
As soon as I landed in the underground lake, I noticed that it wasn't a lake at all.
It was another cave system. And it was gigantic.
I was suddenly glad that I had gotten that ocean crest.
I swam under the surface and chose a tunnel entrance at random.
I noticed a peculiar sight as soon as I entered the tunnel: A turtle with a back covered in glowing blue crystals.
It was a sight to behold since it was a beautiful yet creepy sight.
As I looked around the tunnel, I began to notice several creatures floating around the cave I had entered.
They were glowing blue jellyfish, and they were huge.
Well most of them. Some were small enough to be caught in a bug net.
I was too cautious to try that, though.
I looked at the two creatures native to this underwater cave system.
[Prism Back

[Ghost Bell

I could only look at the prism back with shock at its huge health reserves.
'Wow. Those turtle things are tanky.'
I decided to take my chances, and I proceeded to head even deeper into the cave system.
As soon as I exited the tunnel leading out of the previous room, I noticed how large my current room is.
I looked at the giant dim water-filled cave and noticed the gigantic clam sitting on the side of the room, seemingly asleep.
I immediately took an interest in the giant bivalve in front of me, so I decided to knock on the shell of the giant clam. I hadn't realized what I had done until I saw the clam teleport in front of my very eyes.
I looked around for a second before realizing where it went. I looked up.
The clam was falling on top of me.
I immediately used my hooks to pull me out of the way of the falling behemoth.
[Giant Clam
hp 1825/1825]
'Of course there's a boss monster here. Why do I find them so often?'
I will never know.
I immediately noticed the new additions to the rooms: Clams.
The clams were swimming at me aggressively since I attacked their parent(?).
I decided that now was the best time to pull out my new weapon: the dune hopper.
I threw the spear, and I was surprised to see that it bounced off of the clam after hitting it.
I watched as the spear bounced off of the clam and then bounced off of the wall to hit another clam.
'Lucky shot!'
The spear was more powerful than I thought since it heavily dented the clamshells.
I then realized that the spear reappeared back in my hand no worse for wear.
'Another mystery of this world: magically reappearing weapons.'
I threw the spears several more times since I needed to kill the clams in order for me to target the Giant Clam.
I succeeded. The clams died. And now only mama(?) clam remained.
And so began a tiring hour of me dodging a falling clam while throwing a 'bouncy spear' at its body.
I had expected a harder fight, but I am happy to accept an easy win.
As soon as I dealt the finishing blow to the giant clam, it started cracking.
And then it shattered.
I looked at the place where the giant clam once was and noticed two things:
1. There was a pile of stones with an amulet sitting on top of it.
2. There is a 'person' floating where the clam used to be.
And then my new acquaintance decided to introduce themselves.
"Hello! I am the Sea king! Thank you for releasing me from my seal!"
I sighed.
'Today is going to be a long day.'
