It was finally time for me to begin the fight, and I had no plans on waiting any longer.
I pulled out the Bee's Knees and aimed it at the skeleton I still haven't examined.
'I should probably do that...'
And so I did.
[Skeletron
hp 6543/6600]
'Huh... That's less than I thought.'
I dodged another hand strike while I was thinking, and quickly snapped back to reality.
'Better get this done quickly.'
And then I began my assault.
I pulled back the string on the Bee's Knees and aimed it at Skeletron, and then I fired.
And subsequently missed.
'Knew this wasn't gonna be easy...' I mentally sighed.
I pulled out another wooden arrow and quickly fired the bow again, this time hitting the giant flying skull.
I noticed that the bees that appeared from the bow were dealing very minuscule damage, but fired another shot quickly after the second.
The bees quickly fired off and hit Skeletron in his giant angry skull.
It was then that I noticed what damage the bees were doing.
There were very, very tiny cracks where the bees stung the skull.
'Damn, these bees might be the real MVP in this battle.'
{Accumulative damage is both the best and worst type.}
'Indeed it is.'
I decided to redouble my efforts at firing at Skeletron.
I repeatedly fired my bow at the floating head, barely pausing in between the shots.
I paused from time to time to dodge the hands but quickly started shooting once more.
{You do know that the hands magically reinforce the skull, right?}
'How the hell would I know that?!' I mentally yelled, annoyed at the obviously important information the Gods held from me.
{Well you do now.}
I simply grunted in response and refocused on the arms of the giant skeleton.
As I shot the bees, I noticed that they were making cracks that were significantly larger than the ones on the head.
'So the hands have less defense.'
It took a few minutes for the cracks to accumulate, and they soon formed into a giant crack.
And then the hand fractured.
Several fingers were shattered to pieces and quickly disintegrated, along with several pieces of the actual hand.
It still wasn't enough to destroy the arm fully, though, so I kept going.
The arm was quickly accumulating damage and was destroyed in a matter of minutes.
This came with good and bad results.
With the destruction of one arm, Skeletron became frenzied and erratic in attacks, making them less predictable and harder to dodge. They also lost an arm, so it was also easier to deal with them.
The skull began their spin towards me immediately after the destruction of the first arm, and I was forced to dodge, using the same tactic I used before.
I bounced off of the head and was soon suspended in the air.
What I didn't expect was the speed the hand moved at.
I was quickly struck and launched out of the air.
The strike hurt like hell, but complaining would get me nowhere in a fight.
I checked my health to see how hurt I really was, and I was surprised to see how much damage I really took.
[Talon

I was startled by how much damage the hand dealt.
'A third?! three hits can kill me... Damn.'
I quickly snapped out of my shocked state due to the sight of Skeletron approaching and drank a health potion.
'Well, the stakes have gotten higher now... Three hits and I die.'
I quickly began working on destroying the second hand, although I was much more cautious in dodging the attacks.
I tried to step out of the way of the 'skull-spins', and dodge the hand swipes as best as I could, managing to only get hit once more before I destroyed the second hand.
And then things started to get weird.
Skeletron began to shoot skulls.
Homing skulls.
'What the fuck is that bullshit.'
I wasn't expecting the skulls, so I was startled for a moment before my instincts kicked in.
I dodged the first skull at the last moment and was soon assaulted by several more.
'Oh great... Rapid-fire homing skulls. How fair.'
I adapted on the spot and began to attempt running and firing my bow at the same time.
I wasn't very successful.
With the forest having hilly terrain, I was constantly moving up and down and forced to constantly correct my aim.
Too bad I was inexperienced at aim correction.
I was slowly improving my aim through the struggle of stress and urgency, and I began to hit more shots.
The skull was slowly cracking, and I was still dodging.
This went on for a dozen minutes before something absolutely absurd happened.
The skull got killed.
By a falling star.
I was at a loss for words at the absurd end of the fight. The skull was shattered by a freaking falling star.
"What."
{You got lucky. That's a near-impossible thin to happen, and it did.}
"But a falling star? Really?" I asked, still confused by the strange turn of events.
{Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.}
I just sighed and accepted the fact that I got lucky.
And I looked back to the shattered pieces of the skull, noting that it was quickly disappearing.
I walked up to it and looked for anything interesting.
Unsurprisingly, I found a closed bag on the ground surrounded by the disintegrating bone chunks.
I didn't feel like opening the bag for now, so I decided to wait.
I looked back to the dissolving skull and had one thought:
"Why a star though?"
{Why not a star?}
"Because."
{Good reasoning.} The Gods said, sarcasm lacing their words.
"As if your retorts are any better." I responded.
The Gods just huffed.
"So what's next?"
{What do you mean? Why would we know?}
"I know damn well you have my life planned out for me to entertain our 'viewers' as you like to call them."
{We don't plan anything. We just wing it and see how it goes.}
I sighed. Again.
"Why do I not doubt that."
{Because it's true.}
"Great."
And so I went home, in need of a long rest.
