[Lowell's point of view]
"Eric?" I guessed. He slowly moved his hand forward and...
.
[Eric's point of view]
I pulled my hand towards her to shake hers, "Hi there... Lowell Gold is it? I'm Alden Gold, and I came here to fetcher you," genuinely, I could not stop smiling at her, "Welcome, tsk, back!" I chuckled my last words.
Lowell's face froze in shock, every expression her face carried before I called her evaporated as I introduced myself. Her eyes spoke her confusion with their lost rapid blinks. I looked her in the eyes once again, "Smile, Sarah - you won," I repeated my words from earlier. Soon after, she started realizing that it for sure was me, her eyes widened to a degree I was afraid they may pop out. "Eric!" she yelled at me with her tinny voice.
"It's Alden Gold," I clarified.
"... You look O.L.D..."
"You're older too. To be precise, You're 10 years older. 20?"
"So, you're 20 too?"
"I'm technically 19, and yes, just before you say anything, a month does make a lot of difference to me," I tilted my head with a side smirk, "Anyways, Just come with me."
"You better take me somewhere good or I'll just go back," with her twinkly eyes she held my hand so tightly, "Don't think I'm letting you go with this~"
"Tsk, Okay ."
.
Lowell was new to this place. Having no memories of her past yet, she truly acted like an alien. I had to pull her towards me every time she decided to run away to explore something. She who always thought of herself as superior to every one of us turned out to be a little puppy. "Your no fun!" I knew I was not, and I never will be.
Still grabbing my hand, we walked through the forest trees up the mountain to the Golden House. The Golden House's forest always looked the same; we barely passed by it as the gifts provided by this world allowed us to teleport to certain areas. But because Lowell was considered as a first-timer, she could not do that yet.
"You know ALdeN~, I think this place is beautiful. Do you hear the songs these birds are singing - you don't hear that in the city." She let go of my hand and twirled around while hugging one of the trees' trunks. She giggled, "I think I can be myself here. No one to judge me. No one to prove my true worth to. Is it really that nostalgic of a place?"
"With you here, it sure is..." I knew Lowell had it hard in the Seen World but never did I thought it was to an extent that she would feel nostalgic in a new world where few lived in. I could not tell her of our past either; although, I knew.
I knew everything from the day I opened my eyes, but of course, a baby and my memories were vivid. As time passed, like little puzzles falling in place, I gradually started recalling the past a day after a day. It was never far away from me, yet still, out of my reach. Especially the fact that I did not remember the most important fragments of that life; who started it all.
It was finally time for me to reintroduce Lowell to the Golden House. Similar to our missed history, I and Lowell were the first people in this Golden House, and I cannot say those lives are identical; they are not. This time we are not strangers, and we were not the only people here. He was there too; the clueless Ain.
