Chapter 14

It took a lot of effort for Shin Long not to start hopping around in a mad glee. He was oh so glad he decided to come out here today. The common materials of an Earth Eater went for a total of one hundred demon spirit coins. Their armour went for fifty, their claws for ten, their fangs for twenty and their crystal for twenty as well.

All in, the total number he killed was one hundred and sixty nine of them. Meaning, his total normal profit from their materials would add up to sixteen thousand nine hundred demon spirit coins. But he also had three left over demon spirits from them as well, or would once he and Ning'er integrated with the two strongest. The demon spirits of the Earth Eaters went for ten thousand demon spirit coins a piece at the plunder store, so in total he was looking at just under forty seven thousand demon spirit coins once he cashed them all in.

"Are you ready?" he asked Ning'er to stop his mind from focusing so giddily on his profits. He looked down at her from behind, and trying not to give into the temptation to peak over her shoulder and glimpse her lovely deep cleavage.

She was sitting in front of him cross legged, cupping the Earth Eater demon spirit within her hands, top removed to give him access to the bruising on her side. "I'm ready." the girl confirmed with a nod, her long orange hair shimmering in the sunlight that beamed down upon the tree they were situated in.

"Alright, as soon as you feel my qi build up in your body, integrate with the demon spirit and you'll probably see a massive increase in soul force." Shin Long told her, lifting two fingers up into the air towards the sun, feeling its energy warm his skin. Then he lifted his other hand and called upon his yang qi, and golden flame like energy spiralled into existence around two of the fingers.

"Right." Ning'er nodded her again obediently.

With his hand pointing up at the sun, he began cultivating. But not using his War God Cultivation. No, Shin Long knew quite a few cultivation techniques. Upon learning the War God Cultivation techniques, he sought out all the cultivation techniques available to the public in Glory City within the public library, and he learned them all.

Including the War God Cultivation technique, and the Storm Dragon Cultivation technique he'd turned Ning'ers technique into the previous night, Shin Long knew a total of fourteen different cultivation techniques.

War God Style, Storm Dragon Style, Earth Style, Water Style, Fire Style, Wind Style, Wood Style, Metal Style, Lightning Flame Style, Sacred Flame Style, Snow Wind Style, Wind Lightning Style, Yin Style, and the one he was employing right now, Yang Style.

One of the lesser used cultivation styles that worked best for males, that worked by drawing in the energy of the sun and cultivating it within the soul realm. And with his advanced knowledge thanks to the ancient, much superior technique of War God Cultivation, he'd managed to improve upon each and every single one of the styles he learned, including the Yang Style.

His arm pointed towards the sun was suddenly wreathed in golden flame like energy that began to seep into his core, but before it could, he transferred the energy across through his core, into his other arm and then pressed his twin fingers into Ning'ers side, injecting the energy through the bruise on her side made up of yin qi.

"Hyah!" Ning'er gasped, eyes opening wide as the energy soaked into her very being. But to her defence, she wasn't startled for long. A split moment later, her cyan blue soul force surged to life around her, and the spherical demon spirit she was holding in her hands melted into her.

Her soul force, like a raging flame around her body surged, shooting up into the sky in the form a bright cyan pillar of soul power.

"Hoh!" Shin Long grinned as he kept transferring more yang qi into her body. "She's shooting right passed the one star bronze rank!"

Once he was sure he'd injected enough yang qi inside Ning'er, Shin Long pulled his hand away from her side, noting that the bruise on her side was very nearly gone already and stepped back.

The boy eyed the massive pillar of soul force radiating off of her and had to hold back a whistle, 'Damn, she jumped right up to a four star bronze rank from what I can sense.' he thought. Sure, the biggest reason why she jumped that far in the first place was because the cultivation of yang qi from the sun was increased five times over due to his demon spirits, but it was still commendable she was able to handle such a massive increase in power so quickly. 'She's going to be hurting a ton though when she comes out of it, Yang Cultivation is one that improves the physique alongside the soul force.'

"Well, she'll probably take a little bit, so I may as well subjugate this guy." Shin Long said to himself as he reached into his pocket and grabbed the five star bronze rank Earth Eater.

Sitting down cross legged behind the orange haired girl, he cupped his hands over the demon spirit and closed his eyes, mentally sinking into his soul realm and the outside world being replaced by a lake of shimmering crimson energy and sparking emerald green emerald lightning bolts shooting all around.

Most of his demon beasts were asleep within their closed off areas, but a little 'tink tink tink' rhythm drew his attention over to Red Crab, noting it was tapping its larger claw against the barrier to get his attention. When he met its eyes, it seemed to light up excitedly and it waved its claw towards him in a greeting, "Kookee!"

"Hey." Shin Long couldn't help but chuckle as he waved back to the happy little fellow. No doubt, it was once a pet demon beast that lost its life and was refined into a demon spirit.

An idea came to mind, and with a wave of his hand, Shin Long released the crustacean from its enclosure. It wiggled its claws excitedly and scuttled over to him on four long, thin legs. "Kookeekoo." it rumbled as it reached him, sidling up and rubbing up against his leg, almost like a canine.

"Hey little buddy," he greeted it again, rubbing the crown like protrusion it had atop its head, "You okay in here?"

"Kookee!" it-he rumbled back - it was a male from what he could tell - waving his large claw.

"That's good," Shin Long beamed. The more loyal his demon spirits became after all, the more helpful in the end. Because they could actually help him in subjugating other demon beasts, "Hmm, I can't keep calling you Red Crab, so I'm gonna give you a name okay?"

"Koo?" the large fiddler type crap tilted his head to the side.

Hmm fiddler. With a crown on his head. "Alright, from now on, your name is Kingler." Shin Long named it.

Something changed then. Shin Long couldn't tell what, but it felt almost like a bit of light entered the newly named Kingler's eyes, and his mouth formed into a shape almost like a smile as he lifted both claws into the air, "Kookeeka!" he said to...cheer, stepping back from Shin Long and begnning to pace in circles, waving his claws through the air and repeating himself over and over, "Kookeeka!"

Shin Long just watched his demon spirit have his fun for a few moments, and when when he calmed down he turned his attention fully to the crab demon beast again, "So, I'm about to pull another demon spirit inside here," he told Kingler, "You want to help me out?"

"Kookee!" Kingler nodded instantly, eyes shining.

"Alright, get ready then." Shin Long laughed before reaching out with his soul force and latching on to the demon spirit cupped within his physical hands and dragging it within his soul realm. Immediately a loud roar resounded throughout the soul realm as the massive Earth Eater appeared, it locked eyes onto him and lowered its head to charge at him, but before it could, Kingler, tiny in comparison launched himself through the air and smashed his larger claw into the beasts face with all his mind.

..And bounced off.

The difference in their physical power was just too great right now. But, at the very least it kept the Earth Eater distracted for a moment, its attention on the one who attacked it. It lunged, maw opening wide as it tried to bite at Kingler, but before it could Shin Long cupped his hands together, conjuring a spherical barrier to capture it inside like all the others and immediately compressing it down, crushing the demon spirit, pressing all of his might and willpower down into its mind.

Distracted as it was by Kingler and Shin Longs attack taking it by surprise, it had little chance to fight back with its own willpower. The Earth Eater fell limp moments later under the onslaught of crushing force and pure willpower assaulting it.

"That was easier than I thought it'd be." Shin Long chuckled.

"Kookeeka!" Kingler cheered again, scuttling over to rub up against him happily once again.

"Thanks for your help little buddy, you were a big help." Shin Long praised him.

"Kookee." he rumbled, continuing to rub his face face against Shin Longs leg.

"Hmm." Shin Long hummed to himself in thought. He should reward that helpful attitude shouldn't he? Maybe he should cultivate fully on Kingler while he waited for Ning'er to grasp her new power.

It might even make the others see the appeal of being as obedient as this little crab.
