Terra Online (Tyran POV)

I slowly got out of the gaming capsule, my hands were still shaking. Oh god those… I shuddered. Terrifying. I'd probably have hell to pay as soon as I logged back in though, since I would appear where I logged out. Oh god, shit. Oh it would be, especially there. I despaired.

I crawled out of the gaming capsule and glanced at the clock. It was around two in the morning. Well, I might as well eat something. I walked to the kitchen, flipping on one of the dimmer lights so as to not disturb anyone else's sleep. I grabbed a pair of protein bars and sat at the table.

I checked on how some of the stocks were doing, could be better, could be worse. I bought a few more before heading to Terra's forums. I quickly found the small, nearly completely obscure post in the dark recess of the forum.

It was made by an as of yet unknown player, Daemon. I knew him from the past. He'd been rather sought after by all the major mercenary guilds and most of the lord players. He'd been considered one of the player base's top strategic minds. But no one had ever really been able to keep him for more than a few weeks, or get much use out of him.

I left a supporting comment on his post, I couldn't be too friendly afterall. I never met the guy, or maybe it was a girl. You could do that if you wanted… most people didn't. Almost nobody knew this guy's real identity, so anything was possible, theoretically speaking.

With that small task out of the way I returned to surfing the forum, trying to see what the general atmosphere of the server was. Same as always it seems. Determined to catch up with Liz, wondering who/where she was, how to take advantage of the only discovered special npc so far. She was the center of a lot of attention.

"Tiran?" Trix called quietly as she walked into the kitchen. She was wearing a full body gaming suit. How could I forget? She streamed the games she played. By no means was she among the top viewed, but the income was enough to fund her lifestyle.

"Yeah?" I asked, swallowing what was left of the protein bar I'd been eating.

"You're not doing anything important today are you?" She mused, "No, I suppose not."

"You don't have a gaming suit right?" She asked quickly as she opened her wrist pad and quickly brought up. She then began scrolling through the selection.

"Black with crimson accents, size large, male, realistic model, full sensor equipment, helmet included, full game-pod integration." She looked over everything, not even having consulted me. A pained smile crossed her face for a moment before she added a few more items and made the purchase.

"It should be here in less than an hour!" She said cheerfully. "You should be thankful I'm willing to spoil my older brother like this."

"Yes." I said slowly. "I can't express my gratitude over how much my input matters to you."

Trix's eyes flashed with anger. "Yes I did! I even took your preferences into account!" She mimed slapping me silly, which aroused an amused chuckle.

"My apologies," I placed my hand over my chest. "That you think of even my mental well being fills my heart with joy. I could never express even a small fraction of the depths of my gratitude."

Trix nodded, satisfied by my meager repentance. She sat in the chair across from mine. "Have you heard of Terra online?" I nodded, but before I could say anything Trix started bombarding me with everything she knew about it. I could only smile and listen, interrupting her when she was like this was a sure way of earning her ire.

She didn't have any friends, well she did but none were girls, so I somewhat filled that mindless, useless need to chat that she had. From which makeup brands she preferred to which hyper-comm star she thought was the prettiest. All, and I mean all her crushes and everything she knew about them. Of course she was also adept at extracting information from my automatic responses to her inquiries, even if I said three or four words, she somehow was able to discern things like, exactly what my type was.

Her wrist pad flashed, which mercifully ended the conversation. "Oh! It's here!" She squealed and rushed for the door, returning a few moments later with a small box.

She quickly put the box in my hands and left the room. "Put it on! I want to see!" She closed and then locked the door. I shook my head and went to leave through the other door, but then that closed and locked as well.

"Urgk." I made a sound like I was being strangled and then punched in the gut. Why? We're all girls like this? Or just my sister. Was this because I refused to go to the actual stores when she was shopping? I put the box on the table with a feeling of resignation, you win this round Trix.

Opening the box revealed a helmet, black in color with crimson colored accents on the sides. Underneath was a wrist pad. I took out my data pad and plugged it into the wrist pad.

It flickered to life then began downloading everything from the data pad. It didn't take long but as I waited I stripped down. Once the wrist pad finished I strapped it to my arm and looked at the nano-fabric laying at the bottom of the box. Now, to see just how much I was being 'spoiled'.

As soon as I touched the nano fabric a prompt appeared on the wrist pad. Do you want to register this gaming suit to you? Y/N. I pressed Y.

The fabric latched to my fingers and slowly began crawling up my arm. It took less than a minute for the nano fabric to cover me. Everything below the neck was covered by the gaming suit.

Now, there were two types of gaming suits. Ones that had 'special' features and ones that didn't. This one had those features. I could feel my face burning as I disabled those features. With that out of the way I put my clothes into the box and grabbed the helmet. I sent her a message and the doors opened.

"Not bad." Trix mused walking in. She nodded. "Yep, I'm a genius, it fits you perfectly." She pulled me into a hug, burying her face in my chest. But she'd done this in my past life as well. I lifted the wrist pad above my head and did my best to ignore the simulations the suit was giving me.

"You're no fun." Trix groused as she stepped back a bit. She tapped her wrist pad and a notification appeared on mine.

I glanced at the notification then accepted it. Trix suddenly beamed, "let me know where you're in-game! There's a dungeon me and my friends want to do, but we need another player." She dashed back to her room.

Oh, I forgot she played on the fantasy server. Well shit.
