"!"
My eyes grew wide when Lucean finished the whole story. About me shoving him away, and how I kept telling him that I'm Shouji, that must be my name; Shouji. I looked down at my cold hands, still in shock. Lucean, who's sitting beside me, held them gently, trying to comfort me.
"You can't remember anything about it?"
"No..., I'm sorry," I looked over to him with my eyebrows furrowed. "Did I push you too hard, Your Highness?"
"Not at all," Lucean's smile was warm. Everything about him is comforting. Even though we only met twice, my heart won't calm down when I'm around him.
And I'm afraid to hurt him. What if that happened again in the future? What if I turned into my true self— Shouji, and have no recollection of Brahms and everyone? That thought scared me.
"I underestimated your illness, Brahms,"
Prince Lucean started; I looked over to him.
"My confession must've been too shocking for you. We only met twice, and—"
"It's not your fault," I hurriedly stopped him. Lucean's piercing eyes glanced toward me. "It's me who possessed such a weak body. And regarding the earlier accident," I lowered my eyes.
He won't believe me that I'm not originally from here.
"... Please don't mind them,"
.
.
.
The Crown Prince's consort.
Wow, I couldn't believe it. I still think marrying another man is strange, maybe because of my original memory. It's not like I regretted it. Lucean is an intriguing person. I felt my cheeks warmed up again.
Ah ah, I feel like a lovesick teenager.
Well, I guess it's natural since I'm only seventeen.
And a day had passed since the incident of me fainting during the dance. Everyone in the kingdom had different reactions to it. Brahms from the Cottingham family, a sickly male, isn't fit to be the Crown Prince's consort.
Or some people who don't care, and some who agreed to it thinking that my beauty is perfect as the Prince's consort.
"... Argh!"
I buried my face into the soft white pillow, screaming. I need to calm my beating heart. What should I do now that I'm Lucean's— L-Luce's w-wife—
"Stop! Stop it!"
Weird thoughts started to pouring in my mind, I scream happily again.
"Y-Your Majesty?"
"!"
I lift my head when I hear someone by the door.
It's a doctor, I assumed. He must've seen me acting strange.
My face is probably bright red right now. I cleared my throat and changed my position to sit. The doctor also cleared his throat and walked over to me.
This is so embarrassing.
I shyly glanced at him. He looks young about Lucean's age.
"I'll start examining, Your Majesty,"
"Yes," I replied quietly.
The examination goes smoothly. He checked my temperature, my eyes, mouth, and heart rate. The doctor nodded his head and put all of his equipment back to his leather bag.
"It seemed that you have stress. Is there something that has been bothering you lately?"
"Hmm,"
Mercie? No, she's nothing to be concerned about. Maybe it's because of this transmigration thing?
"Ah," I mumbled. I can't tell the doctor— no, I can't tell anyone. I smiled at him. "No, nothing,"
"I see. I have several prescriptions for Your Majesty to drink every night before bed. It'll help with your anxiety and stress,"
"Thank you,"
Ugh, another medicine.
Brahms, you need to be strong. I need to be stronger, maybe that way I can refrain the incident from happening again.
Next time, I'll remember my original memories without losing Brahms'.
