Upon hearing Carle's request, Guding was clearly taken aback, as he hadn't anticipated such a request. He would have been welcoming if it was just as a guest, but as a fellow traveler, Guding had his reservations, for he did not want those outside the team to know of the existence of the Sea Emperor.


The Sea Emperor himself did not wish to be exposed, for once that happened, it was very likely that he would attract the attention of the Heavenly Net. The Heavenly Net had matured, possessing emotions like a human, but no one knew how it would perceive the Sea Emperor. If it saw him as a potential threat, it might erase the Sea Emperor right away.
