As the bell run that signaled the end of the day, Feng shot up from his seat and left the class in a hurry, one of the first to leave. Ju-Long tried to rush after him, but the crowd of students quickly formed in around him, all leaving the class in a somewhat slow pace. Once Ju-Long was out the school, he looked around to find Feng, but to no avail. Asking around was no good, considering no one knew who he was and probably had a bad rep with staff, so calling him was one of the only options he can think of. Taking out his phone, he brought up the speed dial and phoned Feng. After a couple of rings, Feng picked up. He sounded somewhat troubled. "Hello?"
"Feng, where are you?" Ju-Long asked, continuing to look around as he stood on the sidewalk outside the school.
"Uhhh....some street along the way home. I took the way we came."
"Dude, what's up with you today. We go in like kings of the world, now you're coming out like a paranoid commoner. Are you really okay?"
"Look..." Feng abruptly said followed by a long pause and a sigh. "Look. It's hard to explain in person. Can I just show you tomorrow?"
Ju-Long was confused as to what he meant, almost suspecting the worse. "This better not be what I THINK it is, Feng."
"Just come on, I'll wait here by this...hardware store? I think that's what it is. Just hurry up." Feng hung up, looking towards the store. It surely looked like a hardware store, having a giant wrench and nail above the door, but there were also flower pots lined up on the ground outside, so the products confused him much. After a good 5 minutes of waiting, he saw Ju-Long, and vice versa, and they finally caught up with one another. The rest of the walk home was quiet, not much talk on what just transpired for Feng, but instead scattered talk on the classes and school work. Their first batch of homework was in their bags, and knowing their teachers, it was best to get it done or else there will be heavy consequences. The walk wasn't long, a good 20 minutes from the front door to the door of the school. The house itself was average compared to the rest in the neighborhood, but still great looking in terms of new movers like the Wangs. Inside was a different story, as the floors and rooms were littered with boxes filled with both household items, food, and clothes.
Ju-Long was the first to walk through the door, followed by Feng who immediately went upstairs. "Mom! We're home!" Ju-Long yelled, a surprised gasp coming from the other room. Rounding the corner was a woman, youthful yet stressed in appearance, although she tries to look happy in front of the two. Her black hair reached down to her waist, and was surprisingly clean despite her dirtied clothes. "Welcome back. How was your first day?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"Eh, it was fine. Class was tiring, school food was okay, some people were friendly, the usual." Ju-long replied with a shrug, putting his stuff down on the couch while helping sort a few boxes into their appropriate rooms. "Ah, well that's great. Just a few more years and you'll survive throught it, because I know I did. Trust me, you'll get used to it. Where's Feng, I bet he'll say the same thing?"
"Oh uh, he's resting. He had to burden himself with helping me all day so now he's tired." He said wit ha nervous chuckle, hoping she didn't notice. She just sighed a bit before going to sort out one of the boxes in the next room. "Please make sure your brother isn't too stressed out. I don't want him considering dropping out or living on the streets as a beggar."
"Don't worry mom, you have my word." He says jokingly before heading upstairs to his room, which was adjacent to Feng's. Feng himself was in his own room, laying down on his bed as he stares up to the ceiling. Raising a fist, he stares at it, just balling it up making him remember of what happened earlier. That was nearly demolished from that one punch, and it only stung to him, not even a serious bruise. Maybe this was that fierceness that Zhu was talking about. "Heaven's Fierceness....what the hell am I anymore..." He whispered to himself. The thoughts began to flood his mind once more, drifting to sleep.
"REMEMBER TO FINISH YOUR HOMEWORK!!!" Their mother screamed from downstairs, jolting Feng awake and Ju-Long from his Youtubing. "Okay..." They both yelled back down weakly.
"Once the morning came, Feng awoke with a heavy yawn. He felt somewhat better after a good night's rest, getting up in a cheerful attitude. After washing up and changing clothes, he raced downstairs. There, Ju-Long and their mother was waiting for him in the kitchen, which was filled with the aroma of frozen waffles fresh out the toaster. "Yo, I was waiting for you. We gotta go in a few if we want to make it to school on time." Ju-Long says as he finishes his second waffle.
"Make sure you eat breakfast first, or at least take something on the go." Their mother would say, pointing to the bowl of fruit in the middle of the table. Feng, wanting best of both worlds, put a waffle in the toaster and grabbed an apple. Once the toaster was done, he crunched it right then and there, taking a few bites of apple out the door. "Bye mom. See you once we get back!" Feng said, waving off to her with Ju-Long behind him. She waved back to them as they left, a bit relieved to see Feng energized.
About a couple feet away from the house, Ju-Long decided to pop the question. "So what exactly are you going to show me in the school?"
"Like I said yesterday, it's best if I just show you. Something weird is going on, and I can barely wrap my head around it." Feng replied, stuffing his hands in his pockets. As they continued to walk, Feng suddenly stopped. Something didn't feel right. It felt like a demon was around him, he couldn't tell exactly where. "Feng?" Ju-Long said, looking back at Feng with a concerned look. "FENG!" he shouted, Feng now coming to his senses. "You're really freaking me ou-"
The sudden screams of a woman could be heard around the corner, followed by several more. "What the hell?" Feng asked, rushing down the street to where he heard the sound. "Wait! Don't just run into something you don't know of yet!" Ju-Long said, chasing after. As Feng turned the corner, he was met with an incoming mob of people, running into him and past him to escape what was behind them. Watching them run off, Feng turned around, beholding an unnatural sight. A couple of feet away from him stood was a giant figure, giving the appearance of a beastly man. most of it's body was covered in fur, and it's eyes were completely red, filled with blood lust. It stood over a fresh corpse, eating the remains in one sitting. Soon, it would focus it's eyes on Feng, who stood in fear. Before Feng could react, the beast charged towards him with the aim to kill. It rose a giant arm and swatted towards him. Feng closed his eyes and rose his arms in a defensive position, although he knew it wouldn't do much good as he braced for impact.
"Feng! Move it!" Was all he heard before being shoved to the side by Ju-Long. As Feng hit the ground, all he heard was a giant THUMP, followed by Ju-Long's grunts of pain, as he was sent flying to the other side of the street. Feng stands to his feet, seeing his brother on the ground in pain. The sight alone made Feng furious. A low growl from him turned into an uproar of fury, his cries ringing out through the city streets. The burning feeling that lingered within him grew more and more. His pupils changed from the deep black to a vibrant red. His fists glowed a hot white as he raised them to the beast, the only thought is to kill this beast.
"Rule Two. Broken...."
