Meeting For The First Time In Many Years (2)

"Tell me everything Ivy. What the hell happened to you all those years ago?

You suddenly changed so much after aunty passed away and then you got involved with that bastard Harry, and then you started to avoid me.

And then you suddenly married that asshole! After that, the first time that I saw you in four years was in the army barracks of all places!!!

After that, you got involved in that accident along with your son and you just disappeared from the hospital in the middle of the night! Even I was unable to find you, even though I used all of my hacking skills.''

FIVE YEARS AGO

A very nervous Mia wright looked around the room with fright shinning in her eyes as she tried to once again think over the events which lead her here.

She woke up in the morning like always and was on her way to the new internet café when she was suddenly stopped on the pathway with uniformed men who just told her to follow her.

And the next thing she knew is that she was escorted to this empty interrogation room and told to wait and that another higher up would like to talk to her.

'Heck' she thought to herself as she tried to remember if she had broken any law and so major that the army had gotten involved and not the police.

'Well I follow the law everywhere I go, and the only wrong thing I do is …..HACKING!!!!!!'

"Shit"

She cursed out loud as she tried to think of a way out.

But before she could think of a plan the door, was opened and a female soldier entered as she kept on talking to the other soldier behind her,

"I still don't know why we need a civilian hacker? Can't we just pick up someone from the army?''

To which the other soldier replied,

"I have no idea, ma'am it was an order from the higher-ups. Either way, let's us just interview the civilian first.''

When Ivy, who was busy complaining about the lack of decent hackers in the army, shifted her gaze to the so-called civilian, she got shocked as a single word left her mouth.

''F**k''

Both Ivy and Mia curse at the same time, as a shocked Mia started asking her friend,

"What the hell are you doing here V? Aren't you married to that womanizer? No, wait for a second....aren't you still dating that bastard Harry?''

Ivy felt a headache coming as she listened to her best friend, looking back at her subordinate she told him,

"Go and wait for me outside.''

The young soldier felt that something was not right, so he just nodded his head as he told Ivy,

"Yes, chief I will wait outside and stand guard so that no one disturbs you.''

Saying this, he left as he closed the door behind him. As soon as the door closed, Ivy looked at Mia with annoyance apparent in her eyes as she ruthlessly questioned her.

"What the hell Mia! I am pretty sure that I told you to lay off from all that hacking nonsense!"

Feeling overwhelmed, Mia too questioned back as she asked her.

"How can you question me when you are here in the army headquarters in a uniform with other soldiers calling you chief? And for your information, you were the one who left me alone for four f**king years so yeah you have no right to question me!''

Mia exploded as she felt the treacherous tears falling from her eyes, she had known Ivy since their junior high school days, and no one knows better than her how it feels to go to an elite school on scholarship.

She was constantly bullied by other rich kids who saw her as an easy target. But things started to change for her after Ivy came into her life, she was the only one who constantly protected Mia by going against the other kids and, so the two of them formed a very unlikely friendship, the duo of the gallant Ivy and the meek Mia.

But their tranquil life was shattered on the day Ivy lost her mother because from that day onwards Ivy went a huge personality change, she took an entire year off from school and when she returned, she changed her social circle and started to hang out with that snake of a cousin Millie and other shady classmates including Harry.

She also started to avoid Mia and then four years passed by when she received news that her best friend was married to the biggest womanizer in the city.

Remembering all this, Mia looked at Ivy with blame as tears swelled in her eyes.

Looking at Mia, Ivy knew she was being blamed, but right now she was not in a position to give her the answers she deserves, so taking a deep breath she told her,

''Not now Mia, but I promise that I will tell you everything.''
