I Will Be Fine

Rose huffed as she breathed rapidly before once again continuing to scold Ivy.

''We are your family, Ivy. We are....me, mom, grandpa and aunt Ava Ivy, not the ones from either the Brown or the Wood family.

So how can you say to me that you don't need us to help you? Do you.....do you not consider us to be your family?''

After asking this question, Rose started crying more and more.

''You know I didn't mean it that way, Rose.''

Ivy helplessly said.

''Of course, you are my family...you are my sister Rose, and there hasn't been a single day I have doubted it, but I just don't want to see you suffer so much.

I can see that you really love Jack, and I don't want you to give up on your relationship because of me. That is why I just suggested that maybe you don't need to get involved.

So that both of you can stay away from this mess. You don't have to help anyone, neither you nor him.''

Rose gave Ivy a sad smile as her eyes gained some more clarity and said,

''Tell me, Ivy, how am I supposed to tell him not to help his friend, when even I am unable to just sit on the sidelines and watch? How can I expect him to do this when I myself can't do it?''

She asked before giving out a soft and disheartening laugh.

''You know what the worst part is?''

Rose asked Ivy as she felt fresh tears appearing in her eyes.

''The worst part is that even if I can somehow make him agree to this, to what you are suggesting, even then, I am the one who would not be able to turn a blind eye to it. Not me, not our family.''

She said as tears filled her eyes, making her vision blurry.

''So how can I expect him to do that? How can I expect him to understand?''

She asked as she picked up the glass of water in front of her with her right hand and traced the ridges on the glass with the index finger of her left hand, all the while she continued looking at Ivy as she tried her best to smile.

''Don't think about it Ivy, there's nothing you can do to make this right.''

Rose said this upon seeing Ivy looking bothered and troubled.

Seeing her friend who had always smiled like the sun, say this Ivy felt chocked, as if someone had placed a great deal of weight on her chest, as she answered,

''But I can't bear to see you hurting like this....''

''It's fine, I will be fine just...just give me some time...will you?''

Rose asked Ivy as she continued to smile the same sad smile on her face.

"Just give me some time, and I will be fine...this is nothing that I Rose Cox can't overcome.''

She said, her voice full of certainty.
