Fic Type: oc
Another gamer fic for you folks and this time the Mc is not evil. *GASP*
Anyway the mc is an okay guy and doesn't go around telling people that he has gamer powers and also doesn't tell them that they are all fictional characters.
I have posted two chapters for this.

The Game of an Optimist
By: Mirlnir
Jeremiah Smith - now Reid Astera - didn't think much of his life, until he was shot to death. Now wielding the power of The Gamer, he strives to make the lives of his (future) friends better, and trains to defeat Salem and her assailants, while also trying to convince his system to stop trying to kill him. Easier said than done...

Chapter 1: Prologue: Shot four times!
You know, I've always believed in god. Not really religious, but I've always thought of an all-powerful, all-knowing being up there, watching us all with amusement and/or disgust. Because let's be honest, us mortal beings are so dumb and stupid that you can't help but like.
Okay, let's back up a bit here. My name is Jeremiah Smith, I'm 16 years old, a high school student, I almost lived my entire life in an orphanage in New York. I have dark brown hair and green eyes, I'm 5'9 foot tall, and I was average in looks.
So I looked like the guy you would forget after three seconds of seeing. That's it, I was average.
Why am I here exactly? Well, it was like any other day, I was going back home after hanging out with some friends, when the douche I beat up last month showed up, a gun in hand, and then proceeded to shoot me in the gut four times.
Now, I can hear you asking 'But Jeremiah, isn't that excessive?" and I absolutely agree with you. Even after the fact that I broke his nose, three fingers, and humiliated him in front of the entire school. But I was living in America, so I think should have expected it.
You see, I really really like to fight. I learnt a couple of different martial arts at a young age -not really a master in any of them- but I know how to beat up people. I've been getting in fights since I was six. Something about it just makes my heart race like nothing else. Punching assholes in the face makes me very happy.
Ahh, but we're getting off topic.
I can safely say that I'm dead. I can't feel anything, but i'm surprisingly calm about it. Though, I might have an idea why.
Would you like to be the new Gamer?
[YES] [NO]
Yeaaaah... oh boy, I really like where this is going. who would've thought that me, your average Joe, could be given such an incredible opportunity.
The Gamer, the most OP ability in the entire multiverse, is handed to me on a silver platter.
Well, I kinda died to get this, so maybe not a sliver platter after all.
I wonder what will happen if I press- is it pressing? I mean, I can't really touch anyting-
Enough of that! Always getting distracted Jeremiah! Just press yes!

[Aura Pool]

Okay, RWBY has a fantastic premise, a great world, and reasonable power levels. Imagine being dropped off in DBZ? Or Marvel? Or god forbid DC ? I would've been killed faster than walking my first steps it wouldn't even be funny.
Silver eyes is gonna be a must. It'll give me an incredible advantage over that Grimm dragon, -Wyvern? I think it was a Wyvern- The Maidens and probably Salem later on. I may be a bit paranoid but I'm not putting my life on risk because I'm sure that I will be OP. Also, it'll get me to Beacon easily because Ozpin can't resist a second silver-eyed pawn.
Dragon Faunus is really tempting but the disadvantage is way too bad for my liking. I mean, imagine going to Menagerie? I'd be turned to Swiss cheese before doing anything. I also don't want to be discriminated against by both races.
Aura pool is meh. I can improve my aura as time goes on.
between the last two, Prodigy feels much better in my opinion. I have no idea when I will be reborn. It could be days before canon, and if so, then I need to get stronger, fast.
For logically thinking on what to choose, you have gained 2 INT

...Who the hell is "Reid Astera"?!
(It's you obviously.)
No! My name-
(is Reid astera from now on. And before you ask why, it's because of the coloring rule)
Okay sure, but why "Reid" specifically? Is this some kind of a dumb ironic joke? My favourite color is blue! I was planning on a blue coloring scheme, not red! And what the hell is an "Astera"?
(It comes from the Aster flower, which is a blue flower named after the Greek goddess Astraea. Here's a photo and some history about it)
I was suddenly feeling like I had the worst headache in my life as information about a star-shaped wild flower got shoved in my head. It was nice knowing that the flower meant love and wisdom, but the problem was that the flower itself was FUCKING PURPLE AND NOT BLUE!
(As you can see, you have many different stat points.)
DON'T IGNORE ME!
[HP is your Health. Zero means death! Or knocked out. It depends really.]
[MP is your Mana. You can use it for magic and other powerful skills. Careful when using it though, because the immortals are watching.]
(Alright, that's fucking ominous)
[AP is your Aura. The manifestation of your soul! It'll shield you from harm, and you can use it to increase your physical prowess. 100 AP is 1.00 APR/s.]
[STR is how strong you are, how much damage you inflict physically, and how much you lift.]
[VIT is your resilience and how many hits you can take before you are dead/knocked out. 1 VIT is 20 HP and 0.10 HPR/s. ]
[DEX is how fast you are, how sharp are your reflexes, and your accuracy.]
[INT is how smart you are, how fast your brain works, and how much info you can store in your head. 1 INT is 10 MP.]
[WIS is how you use your knowledge and make the better choices. 1 WIS is 0.20 MPR/s.]
[CHA is how charismatic you are. Attractiveness, social skills and higher chances of persuading whomever you're trying to convince.]
[LUK is how lucky you are. Critical chances and loot drops.]
Alright! Next, say or think 'skills'.
Ugghhhh you know what? Fine! Whatever! I don't care! If annoying me is so amusing to you then I won't give you the satisfaction of taking your bait you stupid game.
Haaaahh Skills.
Skills:
[Unarmed combat (Passive) Lv63 EXP 46.03%]
Sometimes, you have to let your fists do the talking.
-63% more damage to enemies while unarmed
-63% more attack speed while unarmed

The use of bats, clubs, maces etc is more proficient.
-32% more damage with blunt weapons
-32% more attack speed with blunt weapons

[Bladed mastery (Passive) Lv26 EXP 86.23%]
The use of swords, spears, axes etc is more proficient
-26% more damage with bladed weapons

[Physical resistance (Passive) Lv41 EXP 1.32%]

[Cooking (Passive) Lv48 EXP 64.85%]
You've always thought that making food is art on itself.
-People will most likely enjoy your food.
-The food you make will give more powerful buffs as the skill grows stronger.
-5% chance for the food to become three times more powerful and delicious than normal.
-You are an average level chef
[Intimidation (Active) Lv38 EXP 22.53%]
Intimidate others into doing your wishes
-38% success chance of intimidating others with the same level
-The lower the target's level the easier, and the higher the harder
[Poker face (Active) Lv96 EXP 3.59%]
You've reached a level where your blank face can give nightmares...
...Jesus Christ I'm already OP. Is this all from my old life?
(Yup! Unlike the useless neets that are being chosen for whatever reason, you were actually doing something with your life.)
Oh! Uh thanks? I mean, I try my hardest... Wait, why is poker face almost maxed out?
(Alright! Now to explain some stuff about the 'Skills' system and the 'Style' system)
Novice ~ Lv1-20
Apprentice ~ Lv21-40
Adept ~ Lv41-60
Expert ~ Lv61-80
Master ~ Lv81-99
Legendary ~ Lv100
(FYI, not every skills' max level is 100. Some are 50, others are 30, and maybe even 10.
Once a skill reaches max level, there is a chance that it could either evolve, gain a special effect, or give you powerful perks.
When a skill reaches 'Expert' level, you will be able to teach other people the skill if they have met certain requirements, and vice versa.
You can also gain a title once certain skills reach one hundred. For example, if you had every magic element mastery reach 100, you'll gain the title [Master elementalist])
Alright, that's fair so far.
(The 'Styles' system gives you the abilty to learn and use different fighting styles from across the multiverse. To explain more, Say or think 'Styles')
Styles
Styles:
Unarmed: Muay Thai(Apprentice), Karate(Adept), Judo(Adept), Kickboxing (Apprentice), Taekwondo(Novice), Street Brawler(Expert).
Swords: Kendo(Apprentice).
Bats: Slugger(Adept)
(Right now, you only have three base styles. Same as skills, you can teach other people styles you have reached 'Expert' level with. Also works vice versa. For instance, learning under Goku can give you the [Turtle hermit style] and the [Kamehameha].)
Quick question! Let's say that i don't have a style in the swords window, what happens when my bladed mastery reaches 100?
(When it reaches a high level, you'll be able to fight good but you would leave many openings to yourself. And when you reach 100, you will be able to make your own style. One style per weapon is the maximum. Anymore questions?)
Nope! Thanks for answering!

(Good Luck on your next life!)
Wait, hold on-
Hello everyone! this is my very first fanfic here on this site and its everyone's favourite! a Gamer fic!
now i know what you're thinking "Uggghhhh another one? can't you do something different and original for once you useless sack of sh-" and I'm stopping you rigghhhht there.
Granted, gamer fics are everywhere now a days but it's just so good! i never get bored of it! it just has a lot of potential to make incredibly well-written stories. just look up "the games we play", one of the best gamers fic out there. the problem is that the people here make... i guess "generic" stories where the main character follow the same path over and over, have almost the same personality (I.e edgy, cool(jerk), and "im gonna fuck all the bitches" kind), the story progresses way too fast or it focuses way too much on the MC that the other characters feel insignificant.
now my OC here is NOT gonna be an OP MC where he one shots everyone. he's gonna struggle, he's gonna almost die(a lot) and he's gonna lose some fights, the game will make his life a living hell as he grows stronger.
My oc is gonna be an eccentric, kind, loving, thrill seeking optimist where he tries to make friends with even CRDL, but he's also gonna be cautious and calculating when the gamers mind kicks in. the kind of guy to be very sauve and flirting one moment, then extremely awkward and shy in the next one. he's like a fusion between yang, ruby, and jaune.
My oc is not a SI, a SI is projecting yourself in the story, and I'm not gonna do that. Jeremiah(now Reid) has likes and dislikes, fears, hobbies and flaws while i have my own. granted i may be projecting some of my preferences, but he wont be me.
the style system is heavily influenced by the yakuza franchise. incredible games. 10/10 would recommend.
there will be pairings, i wont say who but you could figure it out by this chapter. And no not a harem. sorry, but i really dont like harem stories. granted it can be good, like a certian lemony evil necromancer's fic. but mostly because he's evil is why i like it.
there won't be lemons either. im really not comfortable writing them. implied? Maybe. actual lemons? naah. rated M just incase it gets too violent.
in any case, thank you so much for checking this and i hope you keep reading. constructive criticism is very appreciated. if you're gonna flame then might as well help me be better yeah?

Chapter 2: Never again
"Where the hell am I?" I mutter, walking through an unfamiliar forest, "Seriously, I feel like I've been walking for hours..."
(It has only been 15 minutes since your reincarnation.)
"Shut up! This is your fault in the first place! You could've 'reincarnated' me next to a village or something, but noooooo, your amusement is a more important factor than my survival." I complain, voice raised and hands up to emphasize my point.
(You're not wrong)
"And you're not even denying it..." I sigh, rubbing the back of my head "Is there a mini-map feature or something? I could really use one right about now."
(Maybe I'll add one later. For now, take left, and keep going. You'll find a small town there.)
"Right, thanks." I reply
Following the game's instructions, I begin walking for 15 more minutes, occasionally asking small questions.
"So, what are you doing here anyways? Not that I'm ungrateful, but don't you have anything better to do?" I ask. "And how long until canon starts?"
(I, against my better judgement, volunteered to take care of your useless ass. I regret doing it by the way. For your question, 30 days.)
"Oh screw you! I don't need a shitty system like you to help me! I can take care of myself just fine." I shout, getting extremely aggravated by it(Him? Her? I'll call it a her).
(See? Can't even recognize my greatness and helpfulness. Should've just stayed home...)
I'm seething at this point. I generally never get mad, but this bitch for some reason gets on nerves way better than anyone else I've known. I know she's baiting me, but I'll be damned if it's not working.
"Now listen here you little-" I freeze as I get interrupted by a low growl to my right. Slowly turning my head to the noise, I'm greeted by 2 red, glowing eyes.
(And now you've attracted the Grimm because you couldn't handle small jabs to your pitiful pride. Gods, is there no end to your incompetence?)
I don't even acknowledge the game as iI slowly turn to the opposite direction of the Grimm... Before taking off full speed, running away from that certain death.
"GODDAMNIT!" I cry out, running away as fast as I can. "Why is this happining to me?! I just got here!"
Quest start! Survive!
Objective: Survive the Beowulf pack.
Bonus: Destroy the Beowulf pack.
Hidden: ?
Rewards: 100EXP, Elemental affinity (Random).
Bonus reward: 500EXP, Skill book, Aura and Semblance unlocked.
Hidden reward: ?EXP, ?.
This isn't funny damni- A pack?! An entire pack is after me?! Are you kidding me?!
Focus, me! How the hell do I deal with them? Fighting them head on is suicide, I only have 100 HP and I haven't unlocked my aura. They're catching up to me, fast. I need to deal with them ranged, and I can only use magic for now.
Putting my five point in INT, I try to visualise an arrow with my magic. It was a weird feeling, like taking a bit of water from a small, calm, pond. Making an arrow, I instantly spin it around fast enough to create another skill.
New skill(s) created
[Mana arrow (Active) LV1 EXP 2.10]
An arrow created from magic. Deals 1.3*INT damage. 10 mana cost.
[Spinning mana arrow (Active) LV1 EXP 1.30]
Adds spinning to a normal mana arrow, strengthening its penetration power. deals 1.7*INT damage. 15 mana cost.
Shooting the closest Grimm with the stronger of the spells, it staggers a bit before it roars and charges again. I have no idea how much damage I'm dealing to them, but I don't have time to ponder as I keep barraging it with arrows until it falls down. dead.
50XP!
The skill [Observe LV5] has been added!
(I'm feeling a bit generous. Now, entertain me!)
Nodding in thanks, I use the skill on the remaining eight.
Name: Young beowulf X5
Level: 4
HP: 240
Name: Adult beowulf X3
Level: 8
HP: 500
Okay, not too difficult, I can handle this. Focusing on the heads for extra damage, the rest of the young Beowulfs are killed
Mana: 7/100
250EXP! Level up! The skill [Spinning mana arrow] Leveled up!
instantly putting all of the 5 points in INT, I turn my attention to the adults as they become cautious. They stop chasing me, and I stop running, wondering what I should do.
Mana: 150/150
Okay, leveling up recharges mana, good. I can get greedy and fight, getting more exp and the bonus reward, or I can play it safe and run. They will probably stop chasing me too. one hit could potentially kill me, but getting a skill book, aura and a Semblance is very tempting...
"Screw it." Making arrows in both hands, the Beowulfs take it as my decision and charge. I back away, leading them to a tighter spot. The one on my right swipes its claw at me, I weave under it and blast both arrows to its face point-blank.
Critical hit! 631 damage! 200EXP!
Now that's a lotta damage! A smirk makes its way to my face, I make two more arrows as they hesitate, boosting my confidence.
"Are you scared? Come on, I haven't had nearly enough fun yet. bring it on!" I taunt, which seems to be working as the one in front of me attacks, lunging at me with a feral snarl on its face.
I retaliate by shooting both arrows at its face, though, not killing it and only dealing 310 damage. I don't let it get to me, and make an arrow and stab it on its right side, then coating my fist with mana and blow its head with a punch.
200EXP! Level up! New skill created!
[Mana punch (Active) LV1 EXP 00.37]
infuse your fist with mana to increase your striking power. Deals 1.5*STR plus INT. 15 Mana cost.
That did a lot more damage than I thought. Thank god for locational damage difference, otherwise, this would've been way harder.
I look at the last beowulf with a barely contained smug grin, doing the universal 'come at me' gesture, it did just that, mindlessly charging like what had happened to its kin never registered in its feeble min-
(Stop your stupid monologue and kill it already!)
SHUT UP, I'M TRYING TO FEEL COOL!
I dodge, switch to ranged, and mercilessly barrage it with arrows, killing it after a few seconds.
200EXP!
"Haah..." I sigh in relief, sitting on the ground with a content smile. "That was a good but slightly terrifying fight."
(Not bad, definitely better than most Gamers. Though, you had the advantage of experiencing fights, but good job nonetheless.)
"Thanks... so is the quest gonna finish now or is it glitched?" I ask with a laugh. God, my legs are still a bit shaky. I thought Gamer's mind helped with this stuff.
(Gamer's mind helps you calmly and logically think, not make you immune to fear. And about the quest, you still haven't finished it yet.)
I stiffen, worry immediately filling me, "W-what do you mean?" I ask hesitantly.
(This is a pack of ten Beowulfs, and you've only killed 9. There is one more, and it's an A-)
A loud roar fills the air as a bigger Beowulf with more bone armor than the ones I've killed emerges from the forest, with an enraged snarl on its face. Using observe, i instantly regret not taking the safe route.
Name: Beowulf Alpha, Pack Leader
Level: 20
HP: 1500
Status effect:
Enraged: 100% attack damage -20% accuracy -100 INT
...oh this is baaaaad, really baaad. The Alpha lunges at me with no warning, my eyes widens at the speed, but fortunately I manage to narrowly dodge to the right, a tree against my back as I shoot arrows... Only chipping its bony armor.
"Wha-?!" I barely manage to get a startled gasp out as it attacks with its left claw. I duck, and it gets its claw stuck in the tree. I use that moment and go behind the Alpha while it tries to pull back.
I need something that deals more damage, but what? I'm 100% sure that one hit is a sure-kill. Focusing my mana, i try to visualize some thing more powerful than an arrow on one hand, and something that would deal huge damage and hopefully stun it.
New skill(s) created!
[Mana lance (Active) LV1 EXP 00.32]
A lance created out of magic. Deals 2.2*INT damage when thrown. Deals 2*STR plus 15 INT when used as a weapon. Cost 30 mana
[Spinning mana lance (Active) LV1 EXP 00.63]
Adds spinning to a normal mana lance. strengthening its penetration power. Deals 2.5*INT damage. Cost 45 mana.
[Mana bomb (Active) LV1 EXP 00.13]
A bomb made out of pure magic. Deals 4*INT damage. Cost 60 mana.
I immediately throw a mana bomb at the Alpha, then I make a normal lance and throw it at the bomb. The lance pins it to the tree and it explodes in its face before it realizes what happened. I put three of my allocated points in INT while two goes to WIS.
For your quick and good thinking in a stressful situation, you gained 1 INT and 2 WIS.
I smile and throw in another bomb, almost completely emptying my mana reserves.
Mana: 2/240
[Observe]!
Name: Alpha Beowulf
Level: 20
HP: 354/1500
Status effect:
Berserk: 200% attack damage, 50% speed, -60% accuracy, -100 INT, -100 WIS.
"SHI-" I was cut off short when this giant, hulking, mass blurred, appearing in front of my face and trying to bitch-slap my head off. I luckily dodged, but not unharmed as the Alpha grazed me and sent me flying to the other side, hitting a tree.
-86 HP! -8 HP!
"GAH!" I pathetically let out, as a pain sharper than anything I've ever felt before disappears as fast as it went over my body.
I'm gonna die. If I don't do anything I'm gonna die an insignificant death, without changing anything. if I die then... Beacon will fall. Vale will fall. countless innocent people will die. Pyrrha and Penny...
I slowly get on my feet, the Alpha snarls and lunges at me with incredible speed.
Vale is unknowingly relying on me, and like hell I'll let it be destroyed. I have the power to change the course of history, save countless of souls, and prevent innocent teenagers from being drawn in a war they're not ready for yet.
"AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF I DON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE!"
[Through sheer will and desperation, you've unlocked your Aura]
[Unlocking your Aura through the ancient way made your Aura 5X stronger]
[Through sheer will and desperation, you've unlocked your Semblance (Enhancement)]
New skill(s) created!
[Aura mastery (Passive/Active) LV1 EXP 2.60]
Aura, the power of one's soul, has existed for thousands of years to combat the Grimm.
-30% increase in all physical stats
-When taking damage, Aura will lose points instead of health until it shatters.
-Grimm will be more attracted to you
[Semblance: Enhancement (Active) LV1 EXP 3.79]
The ability to temporarily enhance anything with everything. 50 AP for 5 stats points per minute.
-Current Body Limits: Fists, and feet
-Current stats: DEX, and STR
I narrowly dodge to the left, create a spinning arrow, and stab it right in the stomach, dealing 72 damage. I jump a good distance away and try to get a good feel of my aura.
Is this what huntsmen and huntresses feel like constantly? Because holy crap I feel amazing, invincible even.
Okay, try and do mana punch but with aura instead. Aura feels a bit different; instead of the calm pond, this feels like an ocean, waves hitting the shore constantly.
New Skill created!
[Aura fist (Active) LV1 EXP 1.52]
Coating your fist in aura to boost your offensive capabilities instead of the defensive ones. Damage 2.5*STR plus aura level.
I see my fist covered in a blue glow. Unlike mana's sky blue color, it's dark blue, like a beautiful sapphire. I smirk.
"Guess my soul knows what my favorite color is, huh?" I say as I try and combine my semblance with it, temporarily increasing my STR by 20.
The Beowulf lunges again with a left swipe, I duck and punch it straight in the jaw. it staggers, and I increase my DEX by 10 for speed, and keep on the offensive.
Jab, knee, weave, left elbow, right hook, dodge, and a roundhouse kick sending it a few meters away.
[Stun] inflicted!
HP: 82/1500
seeing my chance, I charge under it, use both aura fist and mana punch, and uppercut its head out of its body.
New skill created!
[Aura-Mana Fist (Active) LV1 EXP 1.46]
Combining both wells of energy, you have created a powerful skill. Deals 1.5*STR*INT damage. Costs 50 Aura and 50 Mana.
Critical hit! 920 damage! 2000XP! 300 Lien! Level up!
Quest completed! Survive!
Objective: Survive the Beowulf pack.
Bonus: Kill all of the Beowulf pack.
Hidden: Unlock your aura in the middle of the fight.

for already having your aura unlocked, you have been given 3 points in all stats!
"Haahhh...hehehe..." I chuckle in between pants, amazed at how lucky I am to have survived. "That was scary... Too scary. holy crap..."
(Bravo! Bravo! I honestly did not think you would survive even after putting you here. You have far surpassed my expectations. It seems you weren't useless after all!)
"Fuck off." I say that, but with no malice at all. "I'm checking my loot now, stay quiet." I sit on a nearby tree stump, taking out my skill book and using observe on it.
[Runic Smithing] Skill book.
I don't need it right now, but it would be useful in the long run. Oh well, I was planning on making my own weapons later.
New skill Learned!
[Runic smithing [Active] LV1 EXP 00.00]
An ancient smithing technique lost to time. Imbue magical Runes onto your weapon and armor.
-Able to smith copper weapons
-Able to make lowest level fire, water, wind, and earth runes
Good skill. now, use the token please.
Gacha token used!
[Pummeling bat (Unique)]
An unbreakable baseball bat used by the legendary yakuza, The Mad Dog. This strange bat is not very powerful, but it grows stronger the more it's used. Deals 20*STR damage. Unbreakable.
"HAHAHA!" I burst out laughing at my sheer luck. An unbreakable weapon this early is a godsend. "Sorry Majima, but I'm taking this off of your hand."
(By the way, The LUK stat doesn't effect Gacha.)
I truly am lucky, huh? Well, I think should move now. No use in staying here any longer, or I might run into more Grimm. though, I'm sure my bursting positivity is driving them away instead.

He sensed magic. He knew he did. It wasn't the Maidens, it wasn't the Branwen twins, and it certainly wasn't Salem. It was small, much weaker than the Maidens, but it was there, and it was something he never thought he'd feel again.
Pure magic.
Magic that was unbound to any of the elements. Pure, raw, and positive magic. Whoever was blatantly using it, is not an evil individual. In fact, it radiated energy so positive, he would've smiled if it wasn't so startling.
Making his way to his desk, he immediately sent a message to his trusty friend to meet him.
ILOVECOFFEE: Return immediately. I have a new mission that could tip the balance to our favor.
He hoped whoever was using it was okay. He sensed it become more powerful and erratic as time went on, indicating that they could be in a fight somehow, but now it stopped, and it was a terrifying thought that a young magic user's potential could be snuffed out before it was realized.
BestDrunkel: I'm on my way.
He smiled reassuringly. Yes they would fine. He trusted that they had overcome their current hardship if the rapid growth was any indication. He just hoped he would be able to find them, and keep them safe.
he prayed that Salem didn't notice it as well.
So hey, why didn't the weaker Grimm i killed drop anything? And how do i earn loot?
(Because the creator wanted a bit of realism in this version, I only added drops to the more powerful version of the Grimm. From alpha and above can drop items and money. Or find dungeons.)
Wait, you're not the creator? But I thought you said your were gonna add a mini-map later? Also, what about the 'create ID' skill? Shouldn't there be a skill like that?
(Nope! Gaia is, and she doesn't care what I do with your system. As for the dungeon thing, no, ID create doesn't exist here. It'll make your "adventure" very stale and boring for me, so I made a different dungeon system that I am sure you'll like. I'll explain once you found them.)
...I really hope you're not lying.
A few minutes later, i finally get out of that accursed forest, and see a small town(village?) on the horizon. A wide smile makes it way to my face as I sprint towards it.
Blueberry village discovered! 100EXP!
Blueberry? That sounds like an island straight out of One piece.
I should find an inn and crash there for the night. It's dusk now and I need to get ready for tomorrow. The plan should be as following: Train, kill Grimm, get a lot of money, go to vale, find junior, forge a fake ID and passport, then get Ozpin's attention by helping Ruby, and BAM! Haaah, this is stressful, but really fun!
Making my way inside the inn, I press the bell on the counter, and a waitress instantly shows up.
"Hello sir!" she chirps, a genuine smile plastered on her face, "How can i help you?"
"Hi! how much a room for a day?" I politely ask.
"One room is 10 Lien a day, sir. Would you like one?" She inquires
"Yes, for two weeks."
"Certainly! Here's a key to your room, third one to the right on the second floor. Would you be eating dinner too?" She hands me a key.
Key to room 203 added!
"No thanks, I'm too tired to eat." I refuse. well, I'm mentally tired but not physically. I put the 140 lien on the counter.
"Of course sir! Let me know if there's anything else you need." She offers politely before helping other customers.
I make my way to my room, closing the door behind me and face-planting on my bed almost immediately. I yawn, turning to other side and notice a body mirror the left side of the room.
"Oh yeah, I have silver eyes now..." I quietly mutter, before making my way to it.
A quick look made my jaw drop, before a sultry smirk makes its way to my face.
In front of me was a 6'4 man with spiky, bright, silver hair almost reaching my shoulder, sharp, silver eyes that shine in the dark, and mature features that make me a bit older than I really am. I'm currently wearing a bright white hoodie, jeans, and gray running shoes.
"Ooohh who is this handsome young man?" I inquire, before throwing my head back in laughter, "Seriously, I look like I mastered ultra-instinct! Though, I look way better than my past self. Status"

(30 CHA)
That's it?! Oh my god. Then how CHA does Yang have?
(...175)
i choke on my own spit before I burst out laughing again. Holy shit! This world surpasses mine in nearly every way! Granted earth is safer, but this place is much more exciting! I wonder what my friend back home would think if they saw me like this.
...
...I really died huh? I'm probably never seeing those assholes again. I'll never wake up those little shits back at the orphanage to school with Lady May again. I'm never...
...It just hit me. I'm never seeing my family again. I died. to them, I, their pseudo-older brother was killed. Lady May must be devastated right now...
"Damn it..." What the hell? how did I forget them like that? Completely disregarding them for my own personal fun. 'Controlled desire'? Don't make me laugh...
"Hgk!" I hiccup, my legs give out, tears start to fall down my cheeks as I realize the severity of the situation.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry." I choke out an apology, to them, my family. The family I always woke up to go to school, the family I used to always help with their homework, the family I used to play video games with, the family I always cooked for, the family I laughed, fought, and cried with.
The family I'll never see again.
"Your big brother won't be coming home anymore." Was the last thing I said before I started sobbing.
(Ozpin)
Hearing the elevator's door open, he looks away from the glass wall surrounding his office and offers his drunken friend a warm smile.
"So i hear you found something better than me locating the Spring Maiden?" Qrow Branwen queries.
He nods to him, who took the nearby chair and made himself comfortable.
"I sensed a small use of mana, other than the Maidens south of here." The moment these words came out of his mouth, Qrow's grin is instantly replaced by a serious frown.
"Other than the Maidens? but I thought there were no magic users left?" he quizzes.
"I thought so too, Qrow, but I sensed Pure magic." He responds, and upon seeing his friends confusion, he continued, "None of the maidens, even Salem, can do that."
Qrow's eyes widens at the revelation, but quickly inquiries once again, "What's so special about this 'Pure magic'?"
Ozpin elaborates "When magic is used for the first time, it's always an element that is connected to the user's life force. Fire, water, wind, earth, lightning, or darkness, it will always be the one most compatible, but there is a chance, a very minuscule chance, that it could be none of these."
he sips from his mug, "Pure magic is that. Using magic itself, not bound to any of the elements. Not necessarily stronger, but it is more effective against the Grimm than its elemental counterpart."
"Okay... I'm with you so far, but that doesn't explain why that's so important. You said it was small right? I don't think it's gonna be worth the time to search for a newbie magician." He comments. Ozpin simply smiles.
"Qrow, tell me, after using your crow form many times, has it grown any stronger?" he asks.
Qrow quirks an eyebrow and opens his mouth to answer before widening his eyes in realization. "They can grow unlike the maidens..." he mumbled.
"Indeed. If we find them before Salem does, then we can keep them at Beacon. Training in both aura and magic will give us a formidable ally. Maybe then, we may finally end this everlasting war." Ozpin remarks, looking at the starry night sky from his tower.
"...When and where?" Qrow puts his flask on his hip before he gets up from his chair.
"as soon as you can. as for where... I'd say south of here, Blueberry village. stay safe, Qrow." Qrow nods and leaves towards the elevator, leaving Ozpin in his thoughts
"Times are moving fast. I hope you are safe, young mage." he quietly mutters
An individual using their own magic and aura combined is a horrifying thought, but he's grateful to know it is in good hands. for magic to exude that much positive energy is nothing short of comforting.
Hello again my friends! this chapter was pre-written before i published the story. i might start writing multiple chapter then uploading it one by one. but here i just got excited and i thought "why not upload this too?" and so i did.
this is my first fight scene and i really hope you enjoyed it. tell me what i did wrong so i can be better in later chapters.
Chapter 3 is 1/4 way there so bear with me. now, unto the single review from homehumidifier:
when i say combining them i dont mean literally. its like yangs eagerness, rubys moments when she drags her team around but instead he does something ten times more dangerous, and jaunes awkwardness and stuttering, only when caught off guard by a kind gesture or a flirtatious one.
Gamers mind activates when in stressful situations I.e fights, questioning, interrogation, etc. but he still feel emotions. like here, he felt absolutely fucking terrified but it didn't affect his judgment, and it didn't make him panic.
and as you can see at the end, the reality of the situation that he's never seeing his friends and family again hit him hard.
he can still cry, laugh, get angry, scared, and all that jazz. but when in a stressful situation, the skill will tune it out so it doesn't get him killed.
i hope that answers your question and thank you for giving this a chance!
