Spiritual Cultivation Technique

"Now do you understand why I'm acting like this?"

Ireya had many things she wanted to say but now that she heard her say this she decided to remain silent for the good of her friend's mental health.

The two ate in silence after that, finishing her food Raya left the room leaving behind a few words, "Go to sleep, we have a lot to do tomorrow."

Ireya listened to her and fell asleep shortly after Raya left.

The next day they left the Swift Sword Pavilion and left for the Martial Town, Raya told Ireya that this was the hub where you could buy all of your necessities and request a lesson there in exchange for Oceanic Points.

Their trip was quite rough, many people stopped in place to stare at them and others, mainly women, were full of jealousy. A few daring men even dared to approach them but were stopped by other men who were also trying to approach them.

Watching this situation unfold Ireya asked Raya another question, "Why are they staring at us?"

"Because to them, we are at the pinnacle of beauty, something to be pursued.", even after hearing Raya say this, she was still confused.

"How are we at the pinnacle of beauty?"

"Have you ever looked in the mirror and seen your body?"

Ireya nodded.

"Now compare your body to that girl over there.", Raya looked towards a girl who was staring at them with her friends in the distance.

"My body looks way better, so does yours", she said bluntly.

"Exactly, we look good, all of them are attracted to us. Even some of the women...", she slyly added the last sentence while taking a look at some of the girl groups staring at them with heat within their eyes.

"I'm not attracted to any of them though."

"So ignore them."

"Okay."

And so they continued walked until they arrived before Martial Town, people walked in and out and constantly exchanged goods between themselves. Making their way in no one stopped them but many gave them second glances while walking past them, some even began blatantly following them.

By the time they arrived at the Martial Academy in this town they had a small crowd of men following them.

"Sigh... Luckily none of them are allowed to enter.", Raya stated.

"How do you know that?"

"Look at their chests, they all have another badge on there with the word 'Passed' on it, this means they have already passed the age of 30 and are no longer allowed to enter the Academy. We, on the other hand, are still young enough to go in."

Once they entered the Academy they found 10 gates, on top of each one was a different style of fighting, Spear, Sword, Scythe, Mental, Buddhist, Body, Chain, Palm, Dagger, and Array.

They both chose Sword and walked in through the door, inside was a simple desk with a young lady sat behind it.

"Raya and Ireya?", she asked.

"Yes.", they both said at the same time.

"Cultivation?"

"Ablution.", they said.

"One moment.", the lady went through many files but all of them had a cross through them and finally found two with no cross.

"All instructors have passed away except two, one is Eight-Extremities Saint and the other is

Ovasive Sword. You can only hire those two to teach you, Extremities costs 500 Oceanic Points per session and Ovasive Sword costs 650 Oceanic Points per session."

"How much do you have Ireya?", Raya asked.

"How do I check?", Raya quickly explained to her to inject her energy into her token.

"I have... 2000."

The receptionist was quite shocked after hearing this, the last time a number so high appeared from a newbie was 131 years ago.

Raya was prepared this time and accepted this number with a breeze, "That's more than enough for a long time, each session lasts around 5 days, you have enough for either 20 days with Eight-Extremities Saint or 15 days with Ovasive Sword. But we still have to get you a Spiritual Cultivation Technique, you might not be a Spiritual Cultivator but improving your Spiritual Cultivation makes your Energy Cultivation many times easier."

"So how expensive would all of that be?"

"You have to choose one of the two, for now, you don't have enough for both. Choose one Ireya.", Raya waited for her response.

Ireya sat down on the floor even though the two were watching her and thought for a long time, 15 minutes passed by, and she still wasn't done making her decision.

But she then realized something, why would she need either of those people to teach her when she had her father. Perhaps he went quiet because she hadn't broken into Ablution yet at the time, "I've made my choice, I'll take a Spiritual Cultivation Technique for now."

The two then bade farewell to the receptionist and head towards the Technique Pavilion, "What kind of place is the Technique Pavilion Raya?"

"It's the core of this city, it's where you get all of your techniques from. It's also the easiest place to get them from."

"But what if someone just stole the techniques?"

"Steal? Hahaha! That's impossible Ireya, Martial Town may look feeble but under it lie many array formations which defend it from any possible attacks. Even someone at Peak Energy Formation wouldn't be able to pierce through the defenses of this Town."

"Is this Town that amazing?", Ireya now stared at the ground as she was walking, trying to see these hidden formations.

"It's not just this town, the entire city is covered with formations making it impossible for someone to destroy."

They arrived at a large tower by the time they were done talking, an old man was sat down to the side of the gate with his legs crossed. He looked a lot like a statue at that moment.

Ireya bent down in front of him and waved her hand from side to side, "Hello?"

Raya stood behind Ireya covering her, many men gave Raya a dirty look for covering the view. Ireya stood back up and saw that Raya had been standing behind her, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing.", she shook her head and entered the building, Ireya following behind her.

"There are four floors to this building, the first 3 are for Energy Cultivation Technique, the 2 after that are for Physical Cultivation Techniques and the last 2 are for Spiritual Cultivation Techniques. What we're looking for is on the last floor."

Ireya memorized her words and followed her towards the stairs.

"Excuse me young beauties!", a man walked out of the side and called out to them.

Watching them stare at him he was unfazed, "Want me to show you around this place?"

"No thank you.", Ireya refused him before Raya had the chance, she didn't like the look of his face.

"Why not?", he looked at the little angel as he asked.

"We already know everything, we don't need your help.", Raya interrupted.

"Got it, I'm Lucas, if you need any help ask me.", he gave them his name as he walked past them.

"I don't like the look on his face Raya."

"Neither do I, he looks like trouble."

They finally made it to the top, a few pieces of paper lay behind barriers with descriptions written on each barrier with at the top and a number at the bottom.

But what brought attention to her eyes was the Technique Ranks, most of them had Lower Breaker written on them. The ranks went like this: Human, Breaker, Saintly, Heavenly, Godly. To find so many Breaker Techniques was a mind-numbing sight, it only went to prove the power of the Cultivators Alliance.

Most people practice Human level Techniques, for them to have so many Breaker Techniques was amazing.

"Mind Flowing Technique, Thousand Suns Radiance...", a plethora of Techniques surrounded them as they looked through them.

"Choose whichever suits you the most, I need to find one too. Meet me in this same spot once your done, bye.", Raya walked off.

Ireya didn't mind and rushed through memorizing the description of all of them, 'Thousand Suns Radiance means to break through the chains and acquire the power of the sun, to manifest the heat as a core and burn all to ashes like a Pheonix.' That was just one of many, it didn't suit Ireya but it was a powerful Mid Breaker Technique.

Ice Meridian, Vein Breaker, and Silent Eruption were the ones which she liked the most out of all of them, none of them had a rank on them, and each cost 1800 Oceanic Points. Ice Meridian was a Spiritual Practice which allowed you to manifest ice as a core, Vein Breaker was to cause a rebirth within your soul and form Spiritual Veins.

But Silent Eruption had no description, and it made her even more curious about its effects than the others.

She smiled and tried taking out both Vein Breaker and Silent Eruption with her, she was going to ask Raya which one she should take.

"Are you sure you should be trying that young lady?"

She froze, her head slowly turned. An old man was standing there with a smile that didn't look like a smile on his face.

"I said, are you sure you should be trying that young lady?", this time his voice was seeping into her soul.

Sweat began accumulating on her face, "Who are you?"

"I'm the one you tried waking up a few minutes ago.", the smile faded from his face, "Now move your hands away from them."

"Why?", she asked.

"Both of them can kill you, is that enough of a reason."

She smiled at him, she had nearly died plenty of times these past 4 years, she had even nearly died of poison at one point. If she was so afraid of cultivating a simple Technique then what was the point of suffering all of those years? Plus she had to do this to go home.

"Not enough."

He sighed looking into her eyes, "Many have tried and many have died, I hope you're the first that succeeds.", he didn't try to convince her any further. If she succeeded then she would lead this generation as a Saint, if she failed then it was her fault, he had already warned her.

"But you can only take one with you, pick one right now.", he gave her an ultimatum.

She looked at the two Techniques, "I'll take this one then.", and picked one.
